Thurles Town had a league of Ireland team for a brief period. They're back in North Tipp & District League and fair play, the club is still going strong at a local level.
Kildare County (came from new bridge and were a big junior team ) didn’t stay long in League of Ireland , went back to Junior Salthill Devon, still a major junior and youth club, briefly were in the LOI. Likewise Mercury United, still a big junior team but left the LOI Galway United have had one or two different entities like Cork City - note Galway United went bust and then the league was replaced with Galway City’s two top junior teams
the picture that purports to be of Shamrock Rovers 2, is of the Tipperary Senior Football team that played Dublin on Nov 21st 1920...aka Bloody Sunday....
Had to laugh seeing Glenn Ryan the Kildare Gaelice Football manager in the video during the Kildare county part... Glenn had nothing got to do with soccer😂😂
The FAI ( The Football Association of Ireland ) is the ruling body of soccer in the Republic. The Irish Football Association is in charge in Northern Ireland . This came about in the late 40s when both associations split up for political reasons. As the FAI left the IFA, the south were compelled to find a new title as the northern entity was considered the official association. Because of this they (the IFA ) were allowed to retain the word ' Irish ' in their title. Ironic when you consider that the territory that the Irish FA represents is in fact part of Britain !
It's not Lime-Rick😫😫😫 it's Lim-er-ick ffs... you're butchering the name of the 3rd biggest city in 🇮🇪 🤦🤦 the Limerick that went bust as you said had changed its name numerous times since being founded in 1937... interesting fact-- the colours of the city of Limerick City are actually green and white, but the soccer team always wore blue and white as in 1937 the forst set of gear they got were second hand from Waterford United whose nickname is the Blues

Cork clubs alone could make up the whole list
The biggest club missing is Drumcondra FC. Which was one of the best supported teams in the League of Ireland for many a year.
Kilkenny city is another club that folded. Great video all the same 👍
Monaghan United. Cork Hibs
EMFA... who became Kilkenny City
Enjoyed the post mate, but when Limerick played Southampton it would have been at the Dell & not the Den the home of Millwall. Cheers.
In the north my old mans team was Belfast Celtic, and they were pretty good.

As an Irish man I approve of your stereotypical thoughts of Ireland 😂
It's all meant in love mate 😂
@GoodSportReviews I can't say anything stereotypical about liverpool because it all applies to Ireland 😅
@@GoodSportReviews Ders more to oirlend den dis.
Wish the LOI got more attention domestically. Up CCFC!
St James Gate too
Limerick FC is still around at academy level. Currently have a u15 and u17 side.
That's Interesting mate! Appreciate the update :)
@ I was one of their coaches there. They have u14 in LDSL which would be the county division and the u15 and u17 in the League of Ireland
Had to laugh seeing Glenn Ryan the Kildare Gaelice Football manager in the video during the Kildare county part... Glenn had nothing got to do with soccer😂😂
@dbulfin it was hard to find pictures 😂 some of them took ages to find and for some reasonthat was lumped in with them 😂 my mistake

@OscarOSullivan Didn't realise it was that early Oscar , thank you.
Irish Farmers Association , the most powerful lobby group / “trade union” in the land . A group capable of holding the city to ransom
Good video mate!
