Jess, it's not about if you are nervous or scared it's how you handle those feeling and you did brilliantly!! You handled the appointment like a Champ! I hope you get your MRI appointment quickly so that is less stress. Have a great day and you need 12 donuts not just 6
Ohh Jess you are so funny when your in a good mood!! I'm sure a long as you clean up that huge dirty garbage mess you don't have to worry about it! I love to make huge dirty garbage messes too, it's usually when I'm repotting all my plants. The problem is, I'm the only one that will clean it up. Ughhh. You ought to see the mess when I clean out my closets, that overwhelms me and it usually stays messy for days because I just can't motivate to clean it up. I really need one of your t- shirts. I'm sure that would make me feel better.
I hope everything will be okay. I know vp shunt issues are common over the lifetime. Glad you got special treats, Jess did so well and all in all was a good day. ❤️❤️
I have scar tissue that causes my shunt to be uncomfortable sometimes as it catches in my neck if I turn my head too fast. I feel anxious as well. I take my own music to listen to when I have an MRI to take my mind off what’s happening. Love to you all xx 😘
Huge dirty garbage mess! 😂 Then that evil laugh just added to it! lol. I’m so relieved for both of you that everything is okay. Great job Jess! Great choice in doughnuts ..love crispy creme…yummy! Love you all ❤️😍🥰
I’m so glad I came to this video. I’m having mixed emotions right now. I don’t exactly feel sad, or angry, or anything like that. I feel relieved because I got done talking with my therapist. But I’m feeling a slight bit anxious. I feel like I’m just being rediculous about what I’m feeling anxious about. But maybe I’m not alone.
I have a shunt, and I have this one since I was a week old. In the first week of life they kept blocking. I am now in my 50’s. My parents said as I aged they were told to look out for me having headaches, stiff neck and recurring uti’s, plus sight issues.
I hope shes ok praying for u jess cheer up its christmas time santa is watching u be good love your doughnuts yummy best with hot chocolate marshmellows
Jess so proud of you so brave. I will be praying for you I had cancer on my head in 2012 had to have my first MRI then I’m claustrophobic so the only way I got through it was I prayed and ask God to get me through it, I had melanoma cancer I’m still cancer free as of this year I thank God everyday my head was the only place I had it. When I was battling my cancer I went to Galatians 4:13 I can do all thing through God who gives me strength. I lost my oldest sister in 2010, only 68 years old to lung/brain cancer and now my youngest sister who turned 70 this year has been battling cancer everywhere in her body for two years, I’ll be 76 December 9th. I hope your family will pray for my sister. I’ll be praying for you Jess that you have good news from your test. God bless you and your family I have been following you since last year you make me smile. You are so strong. I will be asking God to give you all strength prayers from Arkansas. I need to find you some water proof cards from Arkansas I don’t think you have any. ❤️🙏🙏
That was interesting. Thanks for sharing. I don't know a lot about shunts but did a quick google search (I know, Dr. Google) and they are quite the important medical devices. Hope all goes well with the shunt series and MRI. Take care.
I'll be praying for good results, Jess! I know how scary going to the doctor can be. I've have 5 surgeries on my spine to fuse it. Now my entire spine is fused (except my neck). I have to stay on top of the pain issues just incase something needs repaired. Can you believe after my first fusion almost a year out my left titanium rod broke?
@@baddaddy2826 All of this happened 20 years ago. I was declared permanently disabled from it at 38 years old. I live in pain daily but doing my best to not let get the best of me. My wonder hubby and 3 grown children help me whenever I need it.
Hey Jess, you did fantastic at your doctor's appointment and getting your x-ray's. I'm so proud of you; I knew you could do it!! Just waiting now on the results of the x-ray's; you don't have anything to worry about. I believe it will all come out just fine. I love donuts my favorite are the custard filled ones.
I was having headaches sleeping a lot nauseous even incontinence. Had shunt imaging found my tube had came apart. Replacement was done then a year later headaches persistent sent me another Nero surgeon that specialized in chari malformation witch I also have he replaced my shunt that I had since 6mouths old at that time I was 41 years. I now have a programmable shunt great help.
i ve had 2 revisions. but after i got older i started having those nasty headaches again but it wasnt due to my shunt as i got older. it was all due to chiari malformation. *i assume u know what that is due to jess;s hydrocephalus*
Hi I love your videos so much, I am asperges and also 3 weeks ago had VP shunt surgery, they didn't do the best of jobs with mine though, they didn't fit the catheter tubing in my stomach properly so the fluid built up on the outside and my muscles hardened to save the fluid from going anywhere, so I've had emergency surgery to rectify that but then the area they re cut into has gotten infected so it's been a tough challenge to the end of last year. But anyway thank you so much for sharing your lives and Jessica's life with us. All the very best from a huge fan from the 🇬🇧 xx
Val you are a awesome mom. You've done good raising two good ones. Hopefully you found out the next step of the Jessica's symptoms. Sending you best wishes ❤ from San Diego CA
My daughter has had a shunt since she was 12 months old. They said it would last ten years and then she’d either need a revision or she wouldn’t need a shunt anymore and it would just stay there forever dormant. How many revisions has Jess had?
@@Shaping_Serenity that’s so awesome! So if I’m remembering correctly, I believe you Told me her revision was when she was young,(and I believe we are around the same age) her current shunt is not programmable correct? It’s just the shunt and the catheter?
My granddaughter has a VP shunt but her hydrocephalus is holding space where there is no brain matter instead of compressing the brain. I love Jessie's dirty garbage mess at least the cards are still in the bags. When my girl does a dirty garbage mess it is mini littlest pet shop, my little ponies and shopkins and it is never contained to her bed. It looks like a tornado, and a hurricane threw up.
Jess you have wonderful parents they shouldn't have to ask for a Donut they should be able to have what ever they want. we have to share in this world especially with our parents.
Jess has had her shunt since she was about 6 months old so she's used to it. Over time, scar tissue has developed and that has made the area in her neck sensitive at times.
Jess you are a trooper! You pushed through your fear and anxiety! And it’s all good now! Prayers that there is no malfunction :)
Sending out lots of prayers for Jess...I hope everything is fine and you will feel better soon...God bless you all 🙏💯🥰💜💙💜💙🤟
I hope Jessica is okay. Bless her heart with it all and Val bless you as well. The stress you have must be so hard in keeping Jessica calm.

So glad she is in a good mood for doughnuts 🍩
Your awesome mom. Jessica did 👍 great
Prayers Jess & mom hope all is well I just had my shunt replaced year ago at the age of 41 since I had my original shunt since 6mouths old
Wow! What triggered the need for replacement?

She has only had one. She was 16. The reason she had one then was that the tubing pulled apart.

Sounds similar to Jess. She also has a space like that. Her shunt is needed but drains slowly. There’s not a lot of pressure.
Krispy Kreeme is a good choice Jess!

Jess you have wonderful parents they shouldn't have to ask for a Donut they should be able to have what ever they want. we have to share in this world especially with our parents.
Adults ask other adults for permission to have food of theirs, it's being a respectful and polite.
That shunt must have taken time to get used to. The way it felt when she moved her neck.
Jess has had her shunt since she was about 6 months old so she's used to it. Over time, scar tissue has developed and that has made the area in her neck sensitive at times.
