For more cool stuff visit www.scottiedtv....
"The heartbeat of America... Today's Chevrolet!" Thats what comes to mind when i see the IROC from back in the day... amazing memories.
I hear ya...always be a special car to me...
I don't care what anybody says that is one sexy car
I agree...
For sure
I always loved the look of them too
Absolutely
I don’t think they will disagree if there in their fifties. Younger people today need all the screens and make me Lazy technology to appreciate any vehicle.
Loved my 5.7 IROC-Z. It was an absolute ANIMAL.
Right on...Thanks for checking this one out here!!
This is the car that got me into cars. They're very special to me as well. Great video!
+kemicalx17 Cool....Glad you enjoyed it!!
I wish i knew how to restore
I have a 84 t top
dopelichious h lucky , that’s my dream car
Same here Kemicalx, i remember in 1978 i was 13 and my neighbor bought a 78 IROC Z28 BLACK with GOLD lettering and i instantly fell in LOVE with it.from there i started checking out all different sports cars but my FAVORITES will always be IROC Z28'S
@@goyallucky5203 we have very similar stories man. I love black irocs. I finally bought one of my own a few years ago. It’s on my channel if you want to check it out.
My father had a black 1985 IROC with gold color decals and gold painted wheel inserts. It was beautiful. And fun.
Just imagine driving this on a sunny spring day in '88 playing Guns 'N' Roses "Paradise City" on the radio with the T-Tops off. Heaven. Great video, Scott!
Ahhhh....that brings a tear to my eye.....
Are we in heaven?
One time, I cruised with my friend in his 1989 IROCZ Camaro. We had the T-Tops off listening to "Like A Rock" by Bob Seger and The Silver Bullet Band! It was perfect!
lol....I can remember days like that to!
I had an 89 iroc.. it's gorgeous, whytf don't they make cars like this anymore
I wish they did!!
Because people care more about bland things and technology then actually Good tasteful styling. Sadly.
Glad you enjoyed it...thanks for taking the time to check it out!
man i want another one. look awesome and so fun to drive
+Con Petersen I would love to have one to!!
I just bought my 1990 IROC-Z z28 in black and red leather interior, with 48,000 miles this video made me smile!
Good for you Brother....Enjoy!!
Love it! The 80's were the time to live as a kid! Formula 350's, Iroc-Z, 5.0, even cheap speed like Z24 Cavaliers, and the turbo's from dodge. I actually bought an 89 Z24 convertible, and it brings back memories big time. Thanks for the video.
lol..I couldn't agree more....we were the last ones that were able to have any fun...
Hell ya loved my z24 1987 was so cool look n ground effects and shit loved it
Man, I pined hard for these when they were new. Insurance rates kept me from ever buying one. The 2nd gen (88-90) iroc wheels are perfect for those cars. Settled down & got me a 2002 trans am ws6 & firehawk.
imgur.com/sPhHnGg imgur.com/bZi1LRJ imgur.com/1vR1Okz My newly acquired '89 Iroc
Im 52 yrs old and when I graduated High school in 1988 I saved My money and in 1990 bought me this exact car 1988 Black Silver same interior 5.7 tpi IROC-Z currently looking for a nice one. Thanks for the flash back
You're welcome...Thanks for checking it out!!
I love these cars so much. Hard to find one with an uncracked dashpad too. Great for building into drag cars or road race cars, and great cruisers too. They really are really great cars.
I'm British and I was in Florida for spring break back in 89. One of my most enduring memories was watching Z28s cruising up and down Daytona beach. Happy days.
+mark rainford Cool...Thanks for checking this one out here!!
always loved the motor tone. very distinctive sound. even as heavily modded as the powertrain in mine was. it still had the Iroc tone
Thanks for checking this one out here!!
@@ScottieDTVTHE VALUE OF IROC Z ARE DEFINITELY GOING UP IN VALUE LOL I STILL HAVE MY 92 ANIVERSREY CAMERO Z28.
Buddy of mine would drive his dad's 5.7 IROC around a lot. He would enter parking lots where we would all get together and spin donuts the same way. He'd pick races and do pretty well against just about anything other than those pesky 5.0 Mustangs.
That was 1989-91, shortly there after most of us split and went our separate ways. Great cars. Great memories. Thanks Scottie for getting me all choked up you bastard!
Very clean.. I see a few things that would be cheap to fix and really add to the car.. get a new set of IROC stickers for the doors and put them down lower where they should be. Also missing the body stripe that goes all the way around the car just above the ground effects. That's about $400 that would be well spent on such a clean Iroc!
This car took my breath away. It is so gorgeous. This coming from a sophomore in high school.
Your on the right track Brother!!
I miss mine. Started off life just like the car in the vid. It had full bolt'ons Holley Stealth Ram w/150 shot. Intrax suspension...One day a nice lady decided to join my lane at 55 mph. It was smoked. RIP 2002.
That sucks Brother....
Got Damn! that car is still beautiful after 30 years
Will always be cool too me!!
that's one nice looking car.
Glad you liked it!!
I had a 5.0 to...but I agree...350 is were it was at...thanks for checking this one out here!
The car was repainted, at very least the front bumper cover was. All Z28s had the headlight pockets painted semi gloss black, even the black ones.
I have a 1989 Chevy Camaro RS. it's candy purple with gold rims. lowrider Style. it's been sitting for about 4 years. the body still looks great. trying to get rid of it
Cool!
John Olivarez how much
anthony winters good question. Asking 4G's
How many miles is on it
Andrew 72582 miles
It's also missing the black and gray stripes all the way around the car, and the Iroc-Z decals aren't exactly where they're supposed to be, so it's been repainted.
+Lyndell Morris I thought the same..the IROC decal is in the wrong place for an 88..more like an 86. The decal moved from the rear of the door to the front as the years progressed. Right?
+Papa Mac I think its the other way around they moved the iroc logo away from the front of the door to keep it less crowed because there was also a iroc logo below it so they moved it towards the back of the door
Papa Mac 85-87 the iroc logo was on the front of the door. 88-90 was on the rear. it's been redone with new decals. the door decals are way too high, there's no stripe that goes all the way around and the small rocker decals that say "5.7 TUNED PORY INJECTION" are above the emblems when they should be under them
One of the best underrated cars of the 80s these cars will soon take off in value the lines on this car are ecstatic
As soon as some big shop does a high end custom build on one.....They will blow up!
They weren’t underrated in there day. They were everywhere, sadly times change. But they are becoming iconic now. Best looking Camaro in my opinion was the third generation.
A true classic. Getting harder to find them in prestine condition. Thx for posting
Glad you like it..I'm a big fan of them to...thanks for cking it out!
Badass first muscle care I ever drove in and I still want one in 2022
Cool cars for sure...
That best looking camaro ever it takes me back to high school nice car
Right on....Thanks for checking it out!!
Thanks I appreciate the support...I get ride alongs when I can...I have several with cars I have shot
I agree..they were all cool
I remember when my sisters boyfriend would pick her up in that beautiful Iroc z camaro, man such a beautiful car, i always loved it
Thanks for checking it out here!!
Such a beautiful car to beat the crap out of!! Always thought the black and maroon ones with the Gold wheels and graphics were so sharp. Still Do!! That’s why I’m watching this again.lol
lol..Right on....Thanks for checking it out!
I loved this car. I had one in high school. Black with red interior. 1988 as well.
Cool....Thanks for checking this one out here!
Scott love the iroc my father had one new in 1987 he had it for 10 yrs then traded it for a t bird i miss those 3rd gen f bodys General motors manufactured them in van nuys California and in Norwood Ohio where they built both firebird and camaros
Right on...I'm a fan too!!
One time I needed to get from Oklahoma City to Colorado Springs and found an AF Major who needed his IROC-Z driven to his new station at the USAFA. He turned down several people who wanted to deliver it for him but since I'm also a pilot, he let me deliver it. WHAT A CAR!
I said i would never sell mine, and i didn't, It's been in dry storage for 16 years, Im bringing it home this summer, I cant wait to drive it again, Im lucky i had to put it away, i blew 3 transmissions and was broke and mad, I was a GM tech when i built it.
Lucky you!
i have a 88 RS with the same ground effects but a wing spoiler instead of a lip spoiler . mine needs quite a bit of work before its that pretty , and i think i'll stick with my little V6 and 5 speed . thanks to gas prices i can't afford to even think about running a V8 and auto .
Yep, My baby is an 87 Iroc. T-Tops, White, Chrome Iroc Rims, redone 350ci TPI with 370hp to the rear wheels. They handle great and are a blast to drive. I really need to make a video of mine. I will this summer, that would be cool. Thanks for the vid.
that was our generation's 57' Chevy, my dream car back in high school, 4 score and 7 years ago.
lol..that's right!
lol...if only for a day...thanks for cking it out!
i had bigass smile on my face and a chuckle when he was doing a burnout!
I owned a 87 IROC with 5.0L Tuned Port 5 spd it was frigging scary what the car would do was a rocket in the first low gears. Absolutely loved it!!
Anthony Macneil Right on....thanks for checking this one out here!!
Oh by the way awesome car love the black and 5.7 one hell of a burnout. Great video
Anthony Macneil Glad you enjoyed it!
your a humble guy Scottie. your buddy recoding does a good job. it's a clean mean IROC.
+David Hill I shoot the videos....Glad you enjoyed the video....

ERS antenna really works awesome. Can hear stations all the way between Dallas and Houston.
Cool!
I agree...this was a nice find....would have liked to have had it my self...I'm always looking to bring you the best stuff Brother...glad you appreciate it!
This was the most iconic movie car of the 80's.
Cool!...Thanks for checking this one out here!!
It seemed fine....but it would not surprise me either....thanks for checking it out!
The I Roc T tops are really badass...One of the cleanest
Right on!
Thanks...Steve is pretty good at them.
When I was 17 i had the grey irock z 5.7 with leather interior .... loved it
That was in 1997
Cool...thanks for checking this one out here!
I had two with the Camaro Camaro interior...recaro...I will always love this body style car...thanks for cking it out Brother!
Mine to...they will always be cool!
My cousin bought me a 1988 Chevrolet IROC-Z Camaro, it had an engine swapped to a Vortec 350, and all it needs is cosmetic restoration. I haven't driven it yet, but I'm guessing it's fast enough to where my insurance won't kill me at 20 years old.
Cool...Enjoy!!
LOL brave dog running at the end. Great video thank you sharing.
You're welcome..Glad You liked it!!
I agree...few and fare between this nice...
I had an 88 5.7 in Black but it had the tan interior which was the only thing I didn't care for. I bought it for 5k as it was a salvage title car but it was CLEAN just like this one and stock. It drove great and sounded awesome very throaty compared to the 305 I had and the TPI engine just looks so clean and awesome. Loved the Ttops I just wish I didn't keep hammering it when the engine had an issue wish I had shut it off I still has to have a tow and a ride. Never got it fixed sold it to the shop where it was towed to I got 800 maybe 1000 can't remember but it was a sad day.
frank smith Hate that Brother!
I love those cars
+MidnightClubsSR I'm a fan to!!

+fleiva30 My pleasure....Glad you enjoy them!
The mullet-mobile!
Dream car.
Cool dream!!
I had this exact same car. I bought it from my friend in 1996. It had 16,000 original miles and I paid 7,800 for the car. I ended up selling it around the year 2001. Selling my I ROC was the stupidest thing I ever did. Damn it!!!
I agree...lol...Thanks for checking this on out here!!
Cool...thanks for checking it out!!
No doubt...these will always be cool!
No Problem..let me know when your is up...I will check it out!
This is Steve's person car...he won't be putting a interior in it...but if he did you know I would show it

ok cool thanks mate
theo raptis Right on!!
Nice toy to have. I worked with a guy who had a white one of these with the tuned port injection.
Sweet ride.
Drove an '87 IROC brand new. At the time, they were the shit!!!! My goal now is to find one as close to stock as possible. The '80's were a time that will never happen again.
+RockTheSix 73 No doubt...What a great time to be alive!!
depends, but can be done, what year 350 block? pre 86, or 87-92 would be a factor for what TPI set up you would want to run. 86 TPI set up can fit the ones with the bolts for the valve son the outside of head, 87 and up had them in the center of the valve cover. but the difference in the those years is how the bolts go in for intake manifold is angled different, and heard of people who drilled them out to match. then wiring and computer from doner, or painless wiring set up kit
love this car
Cool!
Cool...I'm glad it is going to a good home...
I agree..I wish I had the money to buy this one...
Rebuilding my 1985 Firebird, it originally had a GUTLESS 2.8 v6, I'm currently rebuilding a small block 283 to swap into, i'm thinking once it's done it'll kind of like this. Anyways, beautiful car!
+lemkelegion Glad you liked it....Good luck with yours!!

absolutely love these cars I used to have a 92 rs 25th anniversary only had a 305 but I still loved it best part was cruising down the highway at about 110 with the T-tops out my only problem was being to tall to drive it every day had to get rid of it got a video of it if anyone wants to check it out

Cool cars for sure!!
Love videos on the Iroc-z! so Iconic
I have shot a few...Use the search feature on ScottieDTV.com to try and find them...Thanks for checking this one out!!
If I remember right, 1988 was when the "entry-level" Z28s were discontinued until the 1991 model year when GM severed ties with the International Race of Champions, and brought back the regular Z28 package... I also did not care much for the IROC factory wheels after 1987...
Cool!
I owned an exact replica only in white. She was my baby. Then marriage, kids and a more "sensible" vehicle was required from the wife. Wife is gone and now I want my car back! She looks beautiful.
I hear that all the time....sad....the good news is that....the market is still soft on these..I think this one sold for around 10k....
That thing is A1. I can go die of jealously now.
