@@ImJasonFish absolutely variety is the spice of life… love your content excited when I see an upload. You fish our local area which is always great to see!!
HI Jason love the video mate, do you think Banksia Bch, is more productive than Pellie Park ? and is the fish size better?? i have caught a few off the Bribie Jetty, but not a lot i think there is a bit to much run. Cheers Chris.
my favourite way to fish too on special ocassions. really miss doing this haha just watching the float go down is so satisfying. those fish r surprisingly strong despite being slender
Hey mate, great to hear from you. How's the weather and fishing over in NZ? Hope it's well and you're nailing some PBs. So fun and exciting haha. Especially when you get a double hook up! Thanks for watching and leaving a comment 👍
@@ImJasonFish weather atm is messy did get some good weather windows to go fishing b4 new years but waiting for another good weather to return back fishing again.
Good all round spot that one Jason down towards Bellara. The other side of the canal also has sandbanks for whiting & bream. Looks like you got plenty of live bait for your next video 👍
Hey Chris, yeh not to bad of a spot. Last time we were on the sand flats but caught nothing. Then we moved to direct other side of the canal and caught some good big size garfish. The day of filming the wind direction moved us to this side. Unfortunately, no big that day. But heaps of fun! Thanks for watching and leaving a comment 👍
@@ImJasonFish Have read that snapper and grassies can be caught at the mouth there, over the ledge I imagine. You know anywhere I can target squid landbased at bribie?
Hey James, you can target garfish any time of the day. Hopefully the sun is out so you can see your float 🌞 Generally, I like a incoming high tide to target garfish, but in this session, the garfish seem to be more hungry with an outgoing tide. Hope this helps, good luck! Thanks for watching and leaving a comment 👍
@thedon fun to catch, different style of fishing, great eating, great bait… lotsa reasons why. Cast net takes the fun out of targeting a specific species. From memory, he catches these for eating 🥣
Hey mate, thanks for watching and leaving a comment 👍 Garfish are prized for bait (Check your fishing shop bait section). Eating terms - they are like your poor man's whiting. When you catch big garfish (30cm+) you get some nice fillets of them. Otherwise, the small and medium ones are great for fish stock in soup. In this session, the garfish were small and medium sized. You are right - just burley up and cast a net. I would do that, but what's the fun in that and video content wise haha. Thanks for the questions 👍
Another great upload. Good Gar session 👍🏼
Hey mate, glad you enjoyed! I had to mix up the videos a bit - catching too many flathead 😆

Mate what was your dough mix .
Hey Scotty, have a go with white + Self-raising flour, Bread crumbs, Canned Tuna chunks with oil and water. Let me know how you go! Cheers 🍻
Does the time of day matter or just the tide

Question, why would you want to catch these? What are they good for? Looks like you'd be better off burlying up and throwing a cast net out.

Do they taste different to the freshwater species?
