Just for the record, I live here and we didn't lose electricity at any point and Im near the beach. I do feel for anyone affected. God help the people of Florida, it was bad there. But I went out and got food from a restaurant today.. went to the store , got things .

Charley was the last Cat 4 landfall that happened in the west coast of Florida's peninsula. That happened in 2004, and many people there felt pretty fortunate that they have been lucky thus far. Of course, luck can only go so far, and Ian absolutely destroyed that sentiment.

I swear RUclips did away with dislikes so they could introduce shorts to the platform
How quick we forget. Hugo brought 10' surge in Charleston and Myrtle Beach and 35' surge in Georgetown. I couldn't believe how they built right down to the water's edge after the storm.
We’ll hurricane katrina has the all time record for highest storm surge in our countries history at 27.8 feet so I’d love to know how you got 35
I live in SC and 65 miles inland from the coast and that storm hit my small town I live in and did a lot of damage, that storm had to be huge for it to reach so far inland.
On radar, that storm completely engulfed Florida. To give you an idea on the size lol

My daughter lives on the Isle of palms. Her house is on the inter coastal waterway and 3 blocks from the ocean. It’s a island next to Charleston. She pretty much had nothing. Just some wind and rain.
Isn't that where Hugo hit back in the 80s ?
Leave it to social media to make it worse 🙄 I know someone who lives there and posted videos online. Not bad at all from what I seen. A few trees down in his yard. Have we crossed the point of no return in terms of damaging the planet? There is no such point. We need to trust that our thought, which is our greatest quality, can change nature. We only need to understand the direction to which we should aim our thoughts. What should we think about? What condition or state should we aspire to and ask for?
In order to save our planet, we should think about positive human connections. That is, how can we, in our connections, keep nature safe? How can we all together protect our world? If we truly wish to better our planet, then we should see people holding a concern for how to positively connect everywhere that we look.
It has nothing to do with recycling or other activities that we commonly associate with as being sustainable. If we come closer to and consider each other, that we will reach an entirely organic, perfectly connected and round state, then the negative forces will disappear from the world.
We need to understand that if we start thinking better about each other, then the planet will recover from all harm, because our thoughts are the strongest force in nature. Likewise, our negative thoughts about each other are entirely to blame for damaging the planet. That is why the more we recycle and invest in energies and activities that we commonly think of as being sustainable, the worse our planet becomes. Nothing will work to benefit us until we reach a state where our attitude changes toward each other for the better to protect and improve our planet.
I pray for you, remember Yemen in your prayers
