It's always wonderful to meet you even if I missed your live stream ( due to the time 2.30 am in Sweden )! You are the best and I do so enjoy watching my favorite opal channel no matter if I do it later! Looking forward to the opals of today! Greetings to you all at BOD!
Your lapidary machine actually sounds a lot smoother and has a deeper tone through the microphone. So definitely sounds a lot better on my end. Thanks!! PS I have watched All of your videos(many more than once) and have learned to cut Opal myself from you. Your cutting style is the one I'm practicing and practicing to get good at it. This is my third year of practice cutting AU Opal exclusively and your way. Your style of cutting works great for me. Thanks so much for my severe case of Opal fever !! 😂😊 Keep up the good work and don't let the negative comments get you down my friend.
I always miss the lives...sry. I never know when I will be able to be up to the computer to watch. I just enjoy being able to watch them when I can! I love your work and hope you never stop!!!
How glorious to watch your artful hands shaping such tiny opals! It seems in seconds a mesmerizing blast of colors from a feeble nobby appears. How fortunate and affirming, each stone bringing endless joy. Your artistic style is evident in every gem, large to small. Thank you for sharing your 'wheel life' that brings pure joy into our real life ❤️
I was raised on a big ranch ( the Bursill Ranch ) in the little town, (Ca.) called Rough and Ready. Named after the President and the town always had 125 people. Lots of petrified wood but although I've always loved them, no opals! After school my husband , kids and I moved to WA. I feel your opal table you did in the previous video is truly the most beautiful table I have seen! I power carve ( I bleed too much with a knife so had to change :). I'm studying up on how to make river tables as I like the looks of those. But, your slab of wood has the perfect look, pre opal. The idea that as arranged it tells a story. The other excellent thing was the story as to how the opals came to you. I love that you had not forgotten to mention the mines where it all started. I can't wait to see what else you come up with on your channel. Again, thank you for sharing the making of the table. The most beautiful table I have seen!
I followed your advice from last time and I'm not watching the live while driving my truck. So I'm just sitting down at 7.00 pm to watch. Cheers from beaconsfield VIC 😊🌏
We all watch and love your videos in this house!I really appreciate the way you face inappropriate criticism straight up but with the respect that you were not shown by your critic. From the comment itself I would expect it was someone unfamiliar with your channel, - if they were it just wouldn’t have happened. And I personally dislike odd shaped gems. And think dremeled, irregular opals only work as museum or as specimen pieces. Yes I know, I know but there’s room for all of us!!😁
People complaining about you cut wrong? It is a different perspective. I have found that what I see on the screen as you grind away is not what you are seeing and the end always seems to justify the means. In other words you are right. There are times I do not see what you see and I am hollerin', stop, stop. But then it turns out alright. You are the cutter and you do know what you're doing. T-Shirt idea: If you go with it I would like a 5X size please. On the back your logo and all, on the front, OPAL CUTTERS HAVE THE STONES with a matched pair underneath that.
I missed the live stream but I’m watching the video . I really can’t believe people either telling you they want to be there to tell you when to stop cutting or how to cut ! I sit watching you and talk to the video “ what the heck are you doing “? But usually by the time the sentence is out of my mouth , you’ve either explained or shown what you were going for . I really think since it’s A, your opal and B your livelihood they should just trust in what you’re doing and just watch ! 😊
I would like an occasional late one so i can watch live, any time after 7.00 Or if you do a live for Europe i can get up early and watch that one. No matter what time you do i will watch anyway. Keep up the good content. Love your show.😊😊😊😊😊😊😊🌏
Eastern US (EST) here. I would enjoy earlier as I am retired. Europe might enjoy having an early evening for an opportunity to watch the "live". You KNOW we will be watching, regardless! 😉
That 3d moss pattern one with the little bit of potch shows Ur XP. Stopping to get it out on the dopstick.i probably would've carried on to get it out wasting loads of opal.thats real discipline.
Will definitely be purchasing a gem fish asap. Though my phone flashlight has done good for a couple of a years, I’m ready for a change Awesome little blue/green triangle
In Texas it's 7:30 when you air and I'm always at work or cooking dinner. Lol. It's hard to coordinate with the entire planet, but it's very nice of you to try.😊 I've only been able to catch one live a few weeks ago. But that's ok.... As long as I'm still able to watch it at some point I'm thrilled!!! Love your videos!!! 🤟 on and🤙 loose yo!!!
Thx both for the entertainment, Justin always a pleasure tu see you work and listen to you, you are sweet and delightfully akward. Tamika you are charming and gosh maybe prettier even than those marvelously cut opals ;) Makes for a great duo from the other side o'the world. I always enjoy watching, please keep making more content! Alec from North Shore QC
Ripper gems this week Justin. Thank you Black Opal Direct for another cracker video. I will do my best to make your next live, had a great time last time.
Just for me have the lives start 18:00 gmt friday. In your pyjamas with 7 coffees next to you😂 But seriously the playback is always better quality than live stream. So when I have managed to catch a live I still had to watch on playback to really see the colour
northern Kentucky. I, too, find myself "Back seat polishing" and having a strong opinion on what you should do.... Then I remember that one of the two of us has been cutting and polishing opal his whole life, and the other one just watches RUclips videos about it.
Hey jt if you haven’t figured the shaking out by now. I noticed something was happening to me. I reoriented my wheels, not the place they were in but flipped around the other direction or spun it a bit to find the new balance point. I noticed as my wheels wore in sometimes would throw off the balance and adjusting the wheels got rid of the shaking and noise of the machine. Hope this helps Really enjoyed this episode! That ocean blue moss pattern was gorgeous. Can’t wait to see it polished up
Tip if you are watching live, click on the cog top right for the settings menu and click on video quality, sometimes you are automatically put on the lower quality setting which will make it blurry your end (not black opals end) just select the 1080 setting and it will clear up for you. It's the watchers side and not the person that's gone live. Hope this helps some of you that watch the lives 👍✌
21:58 coming to your channel should happen by respect and love to your work and lovely attitude. If somebody can not live with your cutting style - he can leave freely. I will stay to appreciate your great stories and outstanding entertainment and exciting journeys through the stones. Cheers from Germany. Ulf
I usually watch after the lives are over. And by the way, I’m getting five stones (pendants) set in 14 karat, white gold as we speak, well, as I type … so excited to see how they look!
I don't know if you can see this comment. If you do.. Justin, I am watching this again and I'm still wishing I can tell you that. When you sliced that little knobby you got a dark gem a a light gem. When you showed the audience the two halves. I saw that the back side of the dark half had a perfect square dead center, a gold square. Totally cool 😎
Regarding the fellow with saving opal. Many ppl don't understand how important is for a jewler a good cut of the opal. Thay think more is better. Wrong. A good cut is better not more. This is for ppl who understand what I'm saying here
Exactly! The opal needs to be more or less completely uniform so that it sits correctly in any setting. If a Dremel is used to "save" opal, it will be all over the place, and not sit flush in the setting - it will be all loose and wobbly.
You run a business and have a family Justin so I personally think that you should be using whichever timeslot you are able to on any given day. I've missed nearly every live because you mainly seem to do timeslots for overseas and I'm either asleep in bed for work or at work. But that doesn't bother me overly. I love watching the lives after the fact anyway ❤️
About the time, it would have to be quite some time earlier for me. The live started 02.30 and usually they last around one hour. So if I wanted to watch a live and still be able to get up to work somewhat well rested it would need to start at least 4 hours earlier. Then the americans would be at work. I am fine with watching it the day after the live.
What time was it for all of us who missed it dummies like us and we are gust down the road lol not everyone in Sydney is up at 3am but I'm still gessing what time the live stem was shown can you let us know at a later date please
I missed the live, so I'm watching it a couple of hours later. In answer to your question - keep the time as is. Most videos are uploaded for the European/US viewers, and that's like 1am here in Australia. So I think you should leave your time slot the same, and then they can get up in the middle of the night for a change! All's fair in love and RUclips!!
It's always wonderful to meet you even if I missed your live stream ( due to the time 2.30 am in Sweden )! You are the best and I do so enjoy watching my favorite opal channel no matter if I do it later! Looking forward to the opals of today! Greetings to you all at BOD!

Thank you, Grandmaster Justin! I wish it was not at 2:30 am in my country so I could watch it live and ask questions!
Once again you show the mastery of the craft. They were all beautiful thanks for sharing your amazing talent. 😷⚒
Ive been watching your videos flat out like a lizard drinkin! Cant get enough of the Opals! You make it entertaining!
Glad you like them! Thanks Jay

Love your show. Because of your show I have a fantastic hobby for when I retire.
I miss the early time slots, 6am to 8am is good for me. Having said that, I think do what works for you. If miss a live, I can always watch later.
I was raised on a big ranch ( the Bursill Ranch ) in the little town, (Ca.) called Rough and Ready. Named after the President and the town always had 125 people. Justin, you are the Micheal Angelo of all opal cutters. I could pick your stones out of a dozen mixed with others.
Your table hands down. Is the coolest use of opal ever
I followed your advice from last time and I'm not watching the live while driving my truck. So I'm just sitting down at 7.00 pm to watch.
Cheers from beaconsfield VIC 😊🌏
I catch you when I can. Rarely get to a live. You are really educating me on opals. I’m in central Texas.
So far I love the Opal just after the Black Opal ! I also love the last Opal !
Whatever is good for you. That's why I save it , then I can watch when I can
I will watch whenever and wherever time and place I can catch you all
I don't know if you could tell all of those would be fantastic. But what a batch! Make a charm bracelet out of this show!

A lovely little parcel of mini stones. Thank you, Justin.

I wish I could buy a black opal but regrettable I cant
Why can't you
Always a great live love it 😎

Justin (aka The Sandman) your dexterity is amazing who knew fish tacos cure arthritis! Compared to you I have lobster claws for hands..
I'm UK so it's a bit late for most(I tend to stay up late) but do what suits you, maybe trial some diff times and see what gives you more live views.
I've seen those bright green frogs that live in the opal mines on a few channels!
I really like that blue one!
Whenever I get here is a good time. 630 from Virgin valley

Good anchorage Alaska I am Eskimo lady and was wondering if you would make one that looks like our native Eskimo knife ULUU??
I think Crystal opals are my favorites
Hi Justin, North Georgia Mountains here
From South Africa time is perfect.
Imagine the power of a magic wand with a center of black Opal!
That would have to be far superior to the Elder Wand! 🙌🏻
All your videos are good
Nice show Justin and tomiin

Brilliant!
The little tiny round dark Crystal that you sliced away from the lighter Crystal has a square in the middle of the back of it
Beautiful little stone
The little one at the beginning, I think, it has a nice pattern.

That tiny stone is really a beauty. What's the value on that one?
Great video 👍 👍
Thank you 👍
The time is fine here in Texas, the day isn't for me as I'm at work Sunday- Wednesday nights :(
Nice boat - fellow mercury Haines man
Hahaha thanks
Didn’t manage to catch live (I’m UK) which means I actually slept - so silver lining I guess 😂😂
Earlier would be good.
But I just watch them later when I miss it.
I’m in Louisiana!
Best time is one that suits you trying to please whole world impossible due to time difference 😁👍
Colorado 👍 😎
Boise Idaho!!!
I always watch back… so the time is ok
Reds most valuable but when the stone has both red and blue that’s on the money because the stone hits both opposite ends of color spectrum
Ref timesslot... too late for the UK. It was 1am for us
