    I’m so glad you said this. Diode lasers are relevant to this industry and for people who can’t afford a large format co2(meaning a large bed). I just bought the Monport 40watt and I’m excited about it. It’s cheap enough for me to learn on and if I ever start making any money I’ll upgrade. I’m an XTool guy with diodes. I have 10watt non pro that I home and run absolute coordinates no problem at all. I just got the Saturday before Prime days the 5watt pro for 279 and the 20watt pro module for 549. Cheaper than xTool had the 20watt pro machine on their site and I had already gotten the extension set. Still got to set that up

      If I wanted, I could have loaded up a couple of machines. I felt like the flow worked fine with just the one. Thanks

    Will you share where you sourced your pens? Thanks for the video. I'm on the fence between buying a Longer B1 3Ow or a LaserMatic30 when they come out (includes the enclosure, air assist, etc.).

      If you are referencing the jig kit, It should fit any B1 frame.

    I’ve been trying pens on my diode and they keep vibrating when I engage them. I have no idea why I have a jig for them

    I just got the Elegoo 20w diode machine. Added limit switches and lightburn. You think my 20w would be able to handle pens like this? also, have you tried the soft-touch coated pens?

    • @TheClackShack
      @TheClackShack  6 месяцев назад

      It should if they are the correct material. A 20 watt is a good machine for engraving.

    I'm glad I found your site!! I'm needing to engrave multiple of the bamboo pens from Amazon and was trying to figure out a set up as I am new to lasers... do I use 3m basswood for this? Thank you!!

    • @TheClackShack
      @TheClackShack  8 месяцев назад +1

      You can use 3 mm but for a locking jig, I recommend 4mm for rigidity

      I space the jig slots to allow a 12mm round magnet, (or your magnet's size), to be placed on one or all of the thin wood strips between the pencils. Make sure the magnets "thickness" have clearance from the laser head bottom.... AND, set your burn height to the TOP of the pens or pencils you use, NOT the jig surface.... Give some space between the pencils to keep everything flat to the honeycomb base.... Works GOOD....
