    Bob Seger's Mother also called Bob the nickname of Bobby. Sometimes I would call her home to see how she was feeling when Bob and his old band The Bob Seger System would be in Ohio. Or the first time I met her at her home on Pauline Blvd. She called him Bobby. I thought that was so awesome. Great video

      Here is yet another example of just how down to earth and humble this living legend really is. I realize that time rolls on, but holy smokes, almost a year on and this video has only 22k views and 23 comments. Mind boggling to me. I dont address Mr. Seger directly with my words here because I know he is a private man. I only hope he knows what he has meant to so many of us from past generations. Many songs take you somewhere, and that place is gone until you hear them again. Bob's music doesnt take you somewhere, it comes to you...and occupies your being. Everything he writes about is right where you already are. His songs are all masterful renderings of personally lived experiences. His songs reflect the obstacles, the triumphs and all the little things that make life so sweet. Thats how I see his songs... validation. Validation that no matter how small your world is, how meek your station in life is, It's a story thats worth being told. And this man does that like no other person ever has or ever will.

    Love the back story on Ramblin Gamblin Man. I always thought it was recorded in '68 and came out in '68. And here is Bob saying it was recorded in '66 and took 2 years to come out. Interesting.

    One of the all time iconic legends. By far, Bob Seger and Bruce Springsteen put the best concerts on. you will never leave disappointed. you more than get your monies worth.

      @@truckerkevthepaidtourist in Against the Wind, "Wish I didn't know now what I didn't know then", Bob did not like the phrase, but Glenn told him to leave it in. It was also Glenn's idea/suggestion to add guitar with the piano in that song as well. Glenn was quoted as saying the best thing that happened to him in Detroit, was the day he met Bob Seger.

    They both made tiny Sheffield, Alabama their home away from home. 10 years for Bob and 6 years for Glenn. Another great musician left Michigan for Alabama. His name was Robert Byrne. He had a FANTASTIC voice but songwriters were the hot commodities and Robert was INCREDIBLE until his unexpected death at the YOUNG age of 53.
    If you aren't familiar with his INCREDIBLE work, Google him now!. He has been a mainstay in the popular genre of Yacht Rock. The people of Muscle Shoals, Alabama, still miss him!

    Oh, and I gotta listen to a shitty quality Brazilian pressing of Back in 72' because he doesn't want to repress any of his older stuff. He needs to get off that garbage real quick, he wrote some of his best music back then...

    • @truckerkevthepaidtourist
      @truckerkevthepaidtourist 3 года назад +1

      Gordon Lightfoot did the same exact thing.
      If you listen to his 1975 gords gold.
      He rerecorded a whole pile of his old stuff for that release he didn't like the way his old stuff sounded.
      Uncle Bob's talked about this for years so much of the early stuff he can't stand. Some people are lucky to find some people who uploaded to RUclips and you can listen to it if you never had the original release way back in the day it's just the way it goes.

      @@truckerkevthepaidtourist yeah it's crazy! That's some amazing rock and roll in his early catalogue. I've been lucky and able to track down most of it on vinyl. Actually after I posted this last comment I went on a search and found a test pressing of Back in '72 for the same price of a beat up copy.
