Excellent reaction to this dynamic song. The guitar really leads the music down so many different avenues as do the changes in Roger's drumming. The bass is like a march in the background. The harmonies on this song are so beautiful and the juxtaposition of the hard and dark with the light and airy really sets the changes in the mood.
I agree with you 100%! I must add that the way that Brian plays his interpretation during the "ending" (that is similar to Bohemian Rhapsody, just piano an voice, on this song piano and guitar) Is sublime, you can feel that he is playing with his fingers in such a smooth way
I really liked this reaction! I love hearing actual musicians break down Queen songs, especially something as complex as March of the Black Queen. Queen II is my favorite '70s era Queen album and I hope you get a chance to listen to it in its entirety, though you might as well do the first one, too! Some ideas and themes actually carry over, and you can hear them evolve as a band.

Always said this song made Bohemian Rhapsody sound like a cakewalk. The whole Queen 2 album is like this, mostly the “black side” (side 2). Ogre Battle ROCKS as well and part of a “Suite” that flows together with this song as part of that. Best of Queen in my opinion!
Love this! If you want the non fade out ending, there is the Deep Cuts version that has the ending intact. I wish Queen would put that ending onto this version as this video has the lyrics. Also Queen and Queen 2 are both incredible albums with great progressive songs like My Fairy King, Doing All Right, Son and Daughter, Father and Son, Fairy Fellers Master Stroke. And White Queen, OMG. White Queen, live at Hammersmith is the best early live Queen performance out there - and it utterly amazing. One of their best instrumentals ever.
Queen II has always been my favorite Queen album - probably because it's the first album I borrowed (to record it on a minicassette - piracy already! ^^). Everything that will made them huge later is already here and you wonder how no music critics (who hated them) heard it back then.
ohhhh black queen , i like your comments about the song, just like bohrap playing in your ears😅 some of their song must listen through headphones more exciting 😊 one of masterpiece of Queen is also”Innuendo”
You are 100% correct about the panning, especially this song! If you don't have good headphones on you miss at least half of the song and how awesome it really is! Great reaction 👍 And I love the fact that a professional, like yourself, loves Queen. Thanks again and see ya soon! PS. Your enthusiasm for great music is outstanding!
Queen not only were experimental with musical sounds, they were also very experimental with recording techniques. The oxide on the master tape for Bohemian Rhapsody was wearing off because it had been overdubbed so many times. I can imagine that much of Queen II would be the same way. You are so right about the mix down, they were always imaginative. The best way to hear Queen is through headphones. It’s one of the reasons I loved learning to studio record, it was one of my motivations to study music technology. I wish I was still doing it.
I really enjoyed your reaction to this song. Your remarks made me start to think of it as a mini-symphony with each movement so different from the preceding one. It's obvious that Freddie had been exposed to classical music, perhaps through the piano lessons he took as a child. Somewhat later than this album he became very interested in ballet and opera. I hope you give a listen to White Queen by Brian May and give us your reaction to that.
Muy buena reacción, creo que la mejor forma de disfrutar al 100% Queen II es escuchando el álbum de principio a fin, debido a que hay varias canciones que están unidas, por ejemplo, The March of the Black Queen está conectada con Funny How Love Is :D

The entirety of the Queen II album flows from one song to the other and it is absolute experience to have. Please listen to the whole thing from start to finish! March of the Black Queen is my #1 favorite song and when I explain it to people, I tend to say: It's a Bohemian Rhapsody pre-cursor. An absolute rock opera.
Older Queen material is like the best from Led Zep combined with the best from E.L.O., and then magnified until it's almost a parody if itself. It's always such an amazing trip.
Loved your reaction! Love the harpsichord in this song. Please do “White Queen” live from the Odeon at Hammersmith. Great vocals & instrumental section...you should be able to hear where some of the music from The Phantom of the Opera came from! Queen was very influential. 👍🏼🤗👋🏼
The songs in the official Queen channel are so porely uploaded! They begin with some seconds of silence and they end up with a fade out. They're not effective on following up the album's continuity. I've been seeing several reactions to this song, and while they love the song, they always end up with the same confusion and deception at the ending because of that. And by the way: you should totally hear The Fairy Feller's Masterstroke (middle part of a medley, between Ogre Battle and Nevermore) and In The Lap of the Gods (not the "Revisited" one). I already saw that you reacted to My Fairy King.
Subscribing because you love Prophet's Song :- ) . Seriously, March of the Black Queen is less a song and more of a piece, to me. It requires several listens to make heads or tails of it. To me, it's about the tension between the pull to "spread out your wings you are an angel" versus to march with the Black Queen - the good and bad inclinations of Man, you might say. So he goes back and forth between wishing to be virtuous and wishing to be part of the power of the black queen; this is a struggle undergone by "each and every soul." The musical complexity is incredible and I'd say it's Queen's most baroque song and that is saying a lot! Anyway, enjoyed your reaction very much.
The Prophet's Song ❤️ Ohh, that is a very interesting way to describe it, and you're right, it's a complex song, I have been listening to it a couple more times since I did the reaction
Brian and Roger need to release Queen I. Amazing album that was under rated when released. I think it would do very well present day. Great album. True Queen fans really do love this album.

Great reaction to one of Queen's brilliant early works - I love Queen II. If you like panning, I suggest you check out 'The Prophet Song' from 'Night of the Opera' album,
I'd like to request a pretty unknown Dutch band that sounds pretty similar to Queen (they even made a Queen Tribute album later in their career) but with more of an orchestral approach. Please review 'Valensia - Gaia'. I think you'll gonna enjoy that and while listening keep in mind that this is basically a one-man band and be even more amazed.

Great reaction. Too complex to talk about after one listen. Yes you should listen to the full album. They were so young and poor. They were determined to make it by doing their own thing.
@@Temporal72 Ah, okay. Es extraño igual que siendo fanático de Queen, no conocieras The March of the Black Queen (1974). Yo sin ser un fan acérrimo de ellos, hay temas suyos que me parecen pésimos (We Will Rock You, We Are the Champions) y álbumes harto débiles (News of the World, A Day at the Races), sí conozco toda su discografía y me fascinan lps como A Night at the Opera (1975), Jazz (1978), The Game (1980), The Works (1984), A Kind of Magic (1986), Innuendo (1991), Sheer Heart Attack (1974), Queen (1973) y Queen II (1974), e incluso, me gustan harto los vilipendiados Flash Gordon (1980) y Hot Space (1982). Saludos. :)
If you love Queen, like you say in the very frist phrase of the video, this is not a reaction and probably you should have heard The March of the Black Queen already. Others, you dont love Queen, and probably are just using the video to pretend it is the first time you are hearing that song. Let's be sincere, please!

People might hate me for this but I put this song above bohemian rhapsody. This is a musical masterpiece.
Great reaction to one of Queen's brilliant early works - I love Queen II. If you like panning, I suggest you check out 'The Prophet Song' from 'Night of the Opera' album,
Very much from their "Prog Rock" period.
ABRAZO DESDE ARGENTINA AMIGO
Gracias!!
Let me add this song to the best reactions list! I will keep that one in mind!
Dude, Queen II in the best Queen album. I swear. Give it a try as a whole.
Now try the prophet's song it's totally mind blowing
That is one of my favorite Queen songs!!
React to good old fashioned lover boy or Millionaire Waltz pls🙏
I really enjoy your video
Thank you! I'm glad you liked it!
Great reaction, please listen to “The Golden Boy” a duet that Freddie did with Monseratte Caballe, a Spanish Opera Singer
"The March of the Black Queen" está pegada a la siguente canción llamada "Funny How Love Is".
Great reaction. Too complex to talk about after one listen. Yes you should listen to the full album. They were so young and poor. They were determined to make it by doing their own thing.
Epic track, you could make a 3hr movie out of Queen II, where is Peter Jackson?
It would be cool as hell!
Saludos. :)
Such a shame that RUclips have taken it upon themselves to edit the original lyrics....😢
Hablando Queen The Show Must Go On Interpretada por Dimash 1000% recomendada
Siiiiii!! Esa la quiero escuchar :)
Queen - flash gordon.
I think I've heard that song
@@Temporal72 ..the extended version is the best one, queen did the OST for the movie Flash Gordon in 1980.
The huge problem with Queen is not their fault. They have wayyyy too many underrated & unheard songs.
Hacelo en español, careta
Who is that guy? Is he a talented composer to criticize Queen?
If you love Queen, like you say in the very frist phrase of the video, this is not a reaction and probably you should have heard The March of the Black Queen already. Others, you dont love Queen, and probably are just using the video to pretend it is the first time you are hearing that song. Let's be sincere, please!
I love queen, but I haven't heard a lot of their discography, I still have to hear more, but I do love their sound!
@@Temporal72 You don't love Queen. You only love some of their more commercial songs. Queen's discography is only 14 albuns. If you still haven't heard all of them in 2022, give up. All the albuns are available on youtube. And if you'd love Queen, you'd already heard every single track. Or... you live in mars. Enough!
Not necessarily, you can love something without knowing everything about them, love is something subjective, you cannot judge or do a statement like that if you don't know exactly the feeling that it transmit to another person, I want to hear everything, and I enjoy doing this kind of things like the reactions, I concentrate myself while doing it
@@Temporal72 Accept that, boy! Is there any Beatle lover who doesnt know all the beatles songs? Now stop bothering!
Hahahah, well, I'm not going to change your mind, I know what I feel about Queen's music, is all that matters, have a good day
as soon as you stopped the music, I'm out
