People who didn't know Pentatonix probably thought the high voice in Creep was the female they heard in the lead in Total Eclipse of the Heart (i.e., Kirstin). When she finished off Creep with the short solo, it probably reinforced that idea. And then seeing Mitch perform it live just blew their little minds!
Watch it again and pay attention to the symbol on Mitch. I’m pretty sure that was him on Total Eclipse of the Heart.
@@Meydoosa I'm aware of who had what symbol from their unmasking T-shirts. I think we'll have to agree to disagree, because to me, the "lead" singer's voice on Total Eclipse is Kirstin (her vibrato is faster and lighter than Mitch's) - but they can sound a lot alike.
@@Meydoosa Kirstin sang the high notes in TEOTH. In breakaway Kirstie did the majority of the high notes, though Mitch did a couple as well. They mainly saved him for Creep. She can sing super high as well and has done on live TV before already.

The first song, first note out of Scott's mouth I knew it was them. I think PTX is part of our DNA at this point :D
The goodbye performance usually gets 7 seconds with credits. The show took advantage of having a world class group perform without those masks on their bodies.

I’m thinking they asked to be 3rd place because they started their tour over in Austria around the taping of the finale. They were sooo much better then the other 2 contestants. My theory that I’m sticking with, 😂. Love the reaction and I love the masked singer. I’m surprised more people aren’t watching it. It’s fun trying to figure out who the star is and it’s silly. The costumes are amazing too, no wonder they won a couple Emmy’s.
This was my theory too.
The show was filmed in January. They are always pre-recorded and filmed in front of a live audience. Let's just be real here, the producers wanted drama. They wanted an underdog story, which is why the judges were so over the top for Medusa. Everybody with ears can tell that Macaw & California roll where the best singers of the season. The producers got what they wanted.
@@kimmyf1054 I totally agree but I thought I read that the finale is taped a couple weeks before it’s suppose to air so it doesn’t get out who won. They did get their drama because even people that don’t watch the show were talking about it. 😂
@@christiemedeiros7805 well to be fair the secret identities are the bread and butter of the show. It's tied up with legal documents and every single person has to sign an NDA. As I dug a little deeper about this particular season, I noticed they've made several changes to the format of the show. I did read that there was some filming during broadcast, which is extremely rare for this show. Filming started toward the end of January and was set to air February 15. Definitely not enough time for all the appearances. Your theory could be right, and this may have been a planned exit. Who really knows tho?! 🤷🏿♀️
What I do know is they were primed and ready to release this cover and it's freaking amazing. The release of this cover literally made me go buy a ticket for the summer tour, just for a chance to hear it live 🥰. I love how much they're evolving musicly. 🙏🏾❤️✌🏾

I think Scott voice is very recognizable, especially for pentaholics, but in Creep the voice of Mitch is more recognizable. the only way to mask more that was Pentatonix, is that Mitch and Kristin didn't sing just keep with the harmonies, maybe used Matt and KO that are less recognizable because they sing less in Ptx

They were 3rd but I think they were starting their World leg of their tour. Great job . I could see it on your face when you realized it was PTX. But I think you recognized Scott's voice alot earlier. Can you imagine singing in those costumes? You can't even tell where their mouths were. 😃😃 ✌🤗
The hand mics were props. They had head mics inside the costumes so their voices came out clear. I saw an interview of them doing a bit of backstage about the show and they were kind of amazed at how much room they had inside those "rolls"and how clearly they could see out of them. They weren't confining at all.

They did release an audio cover of this in the past couple of days. Their master staff cleaned it up and took out all the background noise. You can really hear all the harmonies clearly, as well as Matt's bass which wasn't as clear on the show.

Im pretty sure the reason they didnt ein is bc the finale is live and they are on tour overseas. Its intereting bc **spoiler alert** David Archuleta end up as runner up and he had been on American idol and was also runner up there. But the interesting part is that scott loves him and they sang together at his house. I cant remember if its on you tube or not. Loved your reaction to this!!!! Have you done any of their solo work, i cant remember. Scott has a song called Mars that is out of this world. Mitch did a cover of your power by Billie Eilish that is amaxing. Kevins vraion of down is great, ill see if i can dind the celloboxing solo he does on tour and matt playing the drums as well. Kirstib has an entire EP and her song "Naked" is great.
I could've watched this in mute and I would've known that it was Pentatonix. It would've been due to Scott's hands. I would know his mannerisms anywhere. 😂

Yeah, Scott's voice is distinctive, & once they did more songs I could pick out Matt & Mitch, then Kevin. Kirstie was the only one that I would've been confused on if they were competing individually.
If you're going to have a crush on Kirstin you really should learn to pronounce her name. She's KIRstin, not KRIstin. The easy way to remember is that she's also called Kirstie, which rhymes with thirsty.

Robbed asf but I think the producers pick the winners anyway. I think PTX being voted off opened everyone up to the possibility that the entire show is rigged and the winner pre-chosen. The producers wanted an underdog story and that’s what Bishop Briggs vs David Archuleta accomplished. Luckily PTX wasn’t on for exposure, they were just there to have fun and try something different.

Yeee watch what you say in front of Mitch also my boi he and kirstie used to date on and off throughout their whole middle school and high school years they were even dating when they were lil but you know how we all are when we are little so yee mitch was kirsties first and kirstie was mitchs first then they called it off cause she knew she was gonna come out so he did and she was happy for him cause all she ever wanted was for him to be happy and vice versa but yeee mitch is happy for kirstie engagement and she is in fact married and happily and had a baby but yee she still has that spot for mitch that we all know that you never forget your first so… her husband now has to deal with that but I don’t think she will blatantly bring it up so… but yeah anyway they should’ve won this whole rigged shit it’s always been rigged during the voting process when this show and it’s ratings always votes on solo acts/performers never a group or else it wouldn’t have been close between the last 3 and for those of you that don’t know who the highest vocalist ever in the entire world and history it’s clear and day right in front of your eyes it’s Mitch Grassi he has a vocal range between A1 all the way to H7 I believe and if he can go further in the musical notes then that wouldn’t surprise me and he is the only one that has 9 octaves and 3 tones dimash sits at 6 octaves and 2 tones ariana sits at 6 octaves 1 tone maybe 2 tones beeps me all the other legendary female vocalists are either in between 6-7 octaves and 2 tones so and not to brag but if anyone doesn’t admit or think Mitch grassi sings and is the highest vocalist ever then hahaha that’s all I gotta say or I will say ur clueless lol but anyway let me take you guys down memory lane shall I, when Mitch was born yes he had a very high and thin pitch voice his voice or pitch never changed and for that he had to go through bullying and other types of verbal abuse from classmates etc but he never fell he stood there brave and confidence in himself and told all dem haters “I like who I am, why should I change?” And he silenced all of those haters when he started in his choir and singing really developing his pitch and sound, no talk or come backs whatsoever from the haters or his bully’s but yet they actually started to listen and talk to him after hearing him throughout his choir years this is with at the time his girlfriend kirstin when they were little around 7-8 at the time they dated for a long time on and off and no they didn’t move on from eachother they always knew they would always find their way back to eachother so hense the on and off part anyway yeah they met before eventually meeting Scott in highschool and they all became really close that’s where all 3 of them formed their bond and incredible friendship. How they became noticed was when they started their yt channel just the 3 of them singing covers and all that online and sharing their experience with their coherent fan base or fandom or whichever you like best, so anyway they have done videos for about 3-4 years maybe a lil less then they go ahead and meet Avi online when Avi was checking out their covers and such online and asked them “hey what are you guys tryna do” and they replied and said “we’re really delving into the music business, and we are just trying to get recognized” and Avi quickly said “hey do you guys need a bass, maybe we could do some covers and songs together” and then mitch kirstin and Scott was like “hey guys, why don’t we get a group together” so then they grouped up all 4 of them and decided to partake in the sing-off competition, but they didn’t know they would have to get a group of 5 to actually fully participate, so they went around online and eventually saw this guy named Kevin Olusola and they saw his beatboxing videos and saw he could play multi-instruments and asked if he would like to join their acapella group and that if he wanted to participate in a show called the sing off and he said sure I’ll join, so behold the acapella group pentatonix they figured having 5 in their group + added a shape so they figured pentatonix would fit the bill, and anyway that’s the whole story they win the sing-off and got signed to a huge record deal and then a month or so in from winning the sing-off their record label dropped them and so they went back to making these amazing one-hit covers prolly even better originals if I say so myself and then after winning their first ever Grammy the exact same record label signed them again lol cause the label knew he made a big mistake not signing them and keeping them anyway that label won tons and tons of $$$ after seeing the success of pentatonix and their viewer base and all the fans they were gathering with each release they put out into the world. But yeah you guys get the rest and for those who doesn’t know mitch can also do all sorts of whistle notes and their prolly the highest too and he can also sing in multiple languages 16-17 to be exact idk how he doesn’t shock me anymore after first getting mitch-slapped about 6 years back or so maybe a little longer who knows, he can also rap, beatbox a little, has a incredible low tamper also if he wanted to go low, I mean he pretty much does it all that’s always why I say he’s one of a kind and that he’s legit an alien/inhuman
