  • A couple of hours were spent making up some new homemade fishing baits. These are made using the gummy bait recipe and I used some top-pour paddle tail moulds.
These were made with yellow colouring to suit the muddy waters of the River Usk and I added a good dose of crab flavour scent attractant.
    The recipe was:
0.5 cup of commercial grade 240bloom pork gelatine
    0.5 cup of water
    0.25 cup of glycerine.
Then I just added a good dose of food colouring and scent attractant. Left them in the moulds for a couple of hours to set before unmoulding them and putting them into an air-tight container.
This is a fun recipe to make totally biodegradable fishing baits with no plastic or nasty chemical to pollute the environment.
The next video will be me taking them out for a trial fishing on the River Usk in Newport, Gwent in South Wales.

Would love to see an update on how these are working for you. Are they very stretchy and soft? Have you tried glitter yet?
Those molds sure aren't cheap! I bet you'd be better off getting a silicone mold making kit or some silicone from Smooth-On and making your own. You could make a worm, paddle tail or any thing in any size out of some modeling clay you bake hard in the oven. Like Fimo.
Again, thanks for teaching how to make these!

Çok güzel bu ikinci videonuz. Emeğinize teşekkür ederim kesinlikle işe yarayacaktır, balık karides ve yengeç koku esansı kullanılabilir. Sir; berkley gulp camo veya blood modelleri yapılabilir mi?

Just a suggestion to try. When pouring epoxies and rubbers, you pour into the low point or, if mostly level, pour in the middle and pour in that one place. This lets the liquid flow across the mold and prevents/lessens air getting trapped.
Just on Amazon looking for gelatin. Great idea for avoiding plastic!
??? Is the 250 animal derived gelatin the best? Is there a higher strength than 250?
Also, if you have leftover, can it be reheated later and poured again?
    Thanks!

Very nice work, what about the elasticity of this recipe? Made a few tries with other recipes and when I bend them they snap. Any suggestions about getting the silicone-like elasticity? Thanks
