Brown Pelicans are one of my favorite birds, I was pumped for this video as soon as you announced it! They really are such amazing animals, their adaptations and behavior are unlike anything else out there. You covered their conservation journey really well, they are a perfect example of the power that a strong conservation program can have. Great work Ben! - Harrison and Evan
Thanks so much for the kind words guys, your birding videos were the first I ever watched about this species and helped me learn what to look for when filming this one!
I’ve been going to the Texas coast over 50 years, lots of fishing and nature watching. Pelicans are so amazing! I love all things about the outdoors. Thanks so much for all your great videos and information! Very much appreciated! Look forward to all your hard work! Best wishes and God bless. 👍👍👌✌️
Hey man just wanted to say that I really like your videos. Me and you are about the same age and I also love going out and exploring the woods and creeks around me. Seeing your videos inspires me to keep exploring and having fun out doors. Wish you the best man!
Thanks for the kind words about my content, inspiring people to get outside and explore is a huge part of the reason I make these videos! Really glad to hear that you've been enjoying my channel :)
I’m so glad I found your channel! I love herping and bug catching a lot, so your channel is great. I’m also very happy to see your great handling etiquette and that you don’t sensationalize and make these animals out to be anything they’re not. Your videos are both great for digestible information and de-stigmatizing many amazing critters. Happy to be a new subscriber now!
Awesome video! Birds are great! I’ve been doing a lot of bird watching lately since April and May is Spring migration time for many birds. I’ve also found many snakes along the way too!

Do you have any suggestions for places to look for animals?
It depends on the species but bodies of water are great places to start!
Scientific names of all eight extant pelican species:
1) Platyceros erythrorhynchos - American White Pelican
2) Leptopelecanus occidentalis - Brown Pelican
3) Leptopelecanus thagus - Peruvian Pelican
4) Pelecanus onocrotalus - Great White Pelican
5) Pelecanus conspicillatus - Australian Pelican
6) Neopelecanus rufescens - Pink-Backed Pelican
7) Ruforhynchus crispus - Dalmatian Pelican
8) Spilorhynchus philippensis - Spot-Billed Pelican
Thanks for putting this info in the comments, much appreciated!
