Hey everyone! Other than some upcoming engineering discussions, this is the last video from our recent trip to Taiwan. It was a ton of fun talking to all the engineers and designers in the industry. We have some of those videos coming up, and this one features something different - which is a little bit of (translated) discussion with In Win's designers and product managers. I've been thinking about if it'd ever be worth hosting a purely discussion-focused series on a separate channel or something, effectively a podcast but with more effort on the video side (e.g. in company design offices around the world). Let me know what you think. It's normally not good content for the main channel since YT just wouldn't support it well, but could work separately.
Videos like these keep me interested in the industry, otherwise it’s vacuous and oversaturated with marketing. Nice to see the people behind the hardware!

I kept 2 Fractal Design R(3/4's) for me and my family, and i mean they're just amazing, even after 10+ years. Easy to clean dust filters, good airflow, can fit basicly anything, easy to route cables, what more could you ask from a case. Really appreciate yours and the whole teams effort over the course of Computex and what a finisher. I love everything about what In Win is doing, new ideas & concepts and I really feel they're underrated in this industry or at the very least under considered. Lovely design work. You can tell they care about what they do. It’s extremely courteous of you Steve to address them in part in their language and you can see they appreciate that. Very nice to see such a positive interaction with a component maker and get to see the almost-rans.
Love InWin, I got my Alice case for a steep discount and the plastic construction and included cloth "panels" spotted pattern made me name it "Milk Crate". The airflow is really simple, intake on the bottom, exhaust at the top. And since I know sewing, I was thinking of making a new fabric cover for it. Maybe put a waifu on it like you said 5 years ago.
Steve, I am always impressed on your level of dedication to your work. Going as far as learning a new language to better communicate with OEMs is so cool!
That idea would be awesome even if just integrated into a new design. There definitely is an appetite for bringing back some practical, mechanical aspects like this and what Silverstone showed off at their booth.
I'd buy it just for the 5.25" bay, I understand that the normies are fine with paying 200 a month for various subscription services to get media content they don't own, but some of us actually buy the disc version of the stuff we like so we can actually keep the shit. Not enough cases these days with 5.25" bays.
Really cool coverage on inwin cases. Last year GN did coverage of inwin office and design center in a video and has showed a yet to be released DUBILI case in champagne gold which after seeing I told myself I HAVE TO HAVE IT. The case has been now released and I just got mine couple weeks ago and I am super happy with it. I am only disappointed mine came fully assembled already with fans, I was hoping it would be flat packed model that requires assembly, but all the sites I looked sold only already assembled models here in EU.
This whole visit was cool. Pretty nice designs, it's sad that i didn't even knew this brand (I Win) existed or even that they pioneered the glass panels that i do love.
I want to see more foam make it back to cases. Screw window view, I want the noise of fans and coil-whine reduced before it even makes it out of the case.
Two problems with most cases sold are the noise with the glass, and restrictive front panes that kill airflow. More open front doesn't have to mean loud front, there are geometric tricks around this, and of course bigger fans and slower rpm can help. For glass panels personally I just glue foam to the glass itself, to inner wall. It destroys warranty of course but it's a case, I've never had to return case after I've built a setup there, tested it, and even pondered modding the case. Typically returns are about integrated case connectors, fan controllers, stuff that is electronic, but for these good you get replacement part typically. Warranty also sometimes because of shipping damage, but this is clearly noticable after opening the box for the first time. With restrictive front panels I typically just leave a filter mesh in front of the fans, I can pop those restrictive covers off easily. Yeah, my computer looks like crap, but I look at monitors, not at my computer when I use it.
Always great to hear from the engineers and designers. Taiwanese Mandarin always sound so good & cultured to me. Would love to hear more from Jerry. Justin is a great translator! :)
I LOVE the Inwin cases, definitely buying one if I switch it up. Just from your videos, you can tell that they believe in what they do and looks like a great place to work. Great work as always Steve and crew!
Thanks for the interview with my alltime favourite case manufacturer! The D-Frame (and 2.0) are still aesthetically the coolest cases to me all these years later
God, I'd love to work at some place that lets you come up with highly experimental designs. I have a few rough PC case concepts that I'd love to see realized but will likely never get a chance to make.
Thermaltake as the sponsor for an In Win tour? That's odd. That foam block at the rear of that silencer case is a pretty novel idea. I could imagine something like that being a product. That H frame variant with the colorful drive bays is neat. A few years ago it'd have been been video editing chassis with the ease of access to drive bays and swapping them. The rapid move to M.2 storage has shifted the desire for such hot swap bays inside that niche (and while U.2 exists, it hasn't taken off for video segment). Still it has a nice look. Using USB-C for the Lynx fan connections permits it to piggyback off of the USB-PD spec to dictate voltage and can provide a single cable for both power and control. That'd provide a means to go from 5V stock USB up to 24V. It just depends on the microcontroller that presumably comes built-in with the fans. The big downside is that each fan would be seen as a USB hub to be able to do daisy chaining.

Thanks for the video it's great to see a different part of PC company and how there are ones that are actually experimenting and trying to change things up
I love these cases so much! I love the tilty case and the old one with the flip-out drive bays the most though. I think it's because they're the two most sculptural. Concept cases are so much fun and I'm glad we got to see some of them :D
That showcase case is honestly one of the more practical yet stunning showcase PC cases I've seen at a trade show in a while. It's a shame it's not at least a limited run case. That thing is gorgeous.
I love this. These guys have some amazing industrial engineers. These designs are awesome and incredibly polished. I definitely think it's now time for a return of the silenced case.
In Win has always made some of the sickest cases ever. Even when I first started actually getting into Pc's a long time ago and was looking to build my own I always loved their designs more than any other brand. One day I will have one, just not sure which one yet
I certainly would like to view engineering videos. It is refreshing to understand and see ideas from the people who design them. One of my favorite parts of my job in my past, was working with manufacturing engineering, integrating those ideas into working solutions.
I just got my hands on a Silverstone TJ10 in black with the window. Just the solid materials in the case made the original price of $300 make sense. I wanted the case back in highschool but couldn't afford it but in about a week I'm going to slam my personal PC into it. Well designed cases just don't get the love they deserve, and unfortunately, it's usually because of cost. Love seeing the In Win guys again!
Wow, I would love to work in a group of people like that. Those designs deserve more exposure to the buying public. Please tell them to continue to inovate.
def like the shift to wood in pc cases. def would love if case makers pivot back to having foam back in to make it quiet again. just prefer to have pcs to be not so obnoxious with all the rgb and glass, but quiet, classy and able to better blend into a regular office space.
@@ROB1N2401 "prefer to have pcs to be not so obnoxious with all the rgb and glass, but quiet, classy and able to better blend into a regular office space." So what would you describe that as? Anything that goes into "a regular office space" is automatically boring from my experience.
The H-Tower is still one of the coolest cases I've ever seen. The Silencer looks awesome and I wish there were quiet, more performant cases than BeQuiet, which really let me down with the DBP900. The D-Frame with the hotswap drives was awesome, although drives in the open air, especially enterprise drives, can be obnoxiously loud. I'd really love to see some sort of acoustic foam-silenced case that looks good and performs well. It's too bad you didn't get internal shots of the Silencer, I was hoping to see inside. Still happy you visited their creation lab, it blew my mind last year; thanks so much for all of your hard work, Steve and In Win
I remember seeing the InWin wood mini-ITX cases a while back - I'd have got one if I were renewing at the time - love their stuff, great to head directly from the designers rather than marketing.
Steve switching to chinese in that interview was so cool and i loved the reaction of the guy being like "nice i can talk to him". Also kudos to the other guy who was translating just rolling with it.
That Silencer panel looks awesome. In Wins is like car designers push a lot of concepts and trickles down to the mass market. I am excited on curve glass on that Signature series what they will do next.
Yes, love to see the effort going into noise reduction. More focus on that please. Cooling high end parts without sounding like a hurricane is much more important to me than fancy aesthetics.
When I first got into PCs, I remember the In Win 901 amazing me with its design. They haven't really been on my radar since, but I love to see that they're still doing their own thing and making different things. I hope they can be competitive in the current market for things other than show floor setpieces!
In Win needs a whole documentary film about their products, or at least another long form video about the people/product designs. I am very fascinated by what In Win product has showcased in these In Win videos via G.N. Even if a lot of their products don't go to market at least you can see their innovation and designs be made into reality.
10:18 - I dig that colored case with the hot swappable drive bays. It's aesthetically more pleasing to have displayed than (I hate to say it) Silverstone's offerings, even though I have built and owned many products from them. If they make variations for 2.5" variants I'm pretty sure many will want them.
Inwin does make fun, unique cases. They have no many options that I never could settle on one in their lineup whenever I am doing a build. I'm still 18 months from a new build. Inwin probably will have the case of my dreams by then.
In Win is such a cool company. That 13:57 case and its top panel opening like that, reminds me of the retractable sunroof from my 2005 Fiat Stilo. I LOVE IT and I would 100% buy that regardless of the price.
Man they KILL IT with these designs. I'd love to see a modular 3dprint added case. Could be so damn cool. The problem is 3d printers are small. Also, huge thank you, i really love watching these videos, they are my favorite part of the channel.
I wish in win had more case like they used to. U almost never see them anymore. My first pc build was with a in win tower with the motherboard tray was removable. Great products.

Thanks for the video it's great to see a different part of PC company and how there are ones that are actually experimenting and trying to change things up
Working with Steve and the GN guys must be the best, real nerds just having fun
Lots of love in this video. You can tell they are very passionate & proud on what they do.
I've used the same IN WIN 303 case for the last 3 builds including my current PC. That case design is a GOAT!
Really interesting. Thanks for the coverage.
Justin is awesome. Please do more with him.
This is a cool look behind the scenes. Glad to see them willing to show the prototypes of
Wow, what a fun place to work. Amazing designs and cases 😄.
In Win makes great cases. I am rocking one right now. :) Thank for showing us their workplace.
It's always a blast to see in win and hear from the designers
Also Steve your mandarin is wildly impressive and is also fun to hear improve so quickly
That Infinite case sounds like a dump truck, you need a backup alarm on that rig before you go dumping gravel like that. Someone call OSHA!
10$ to the first person who tries to stick their finger in there while it's closing.
Thank you and your team for all your work. You see this comment a lot, but I don't think you really understand how deeply we mean it.
That case with the sound dampening is seriously needed, if it can go on the floor and be tucked away and sort out the cabling
You do realize a ton of boring ol black box office cases are still being made right?
@@MrFallenonethey didn't say anything about "black boring boxes" though
@@ROB1N2401 "prefer to have pcs to be not so obnoxious with all the rgb and glass, but quiet, classy and able to better blend into a regular office space." So what would you describe that as? Anything that goes into "a regular office space" is automatically boring from my experience.
@@md_vandenberg And yet so is the RBG with it's obnoxiousness?.
i love the hot swap hdd bay with the 5.25 case, i would love to buy that
Same, scale it down a bit, make it plastic, and drop the glass side panel, and that thing is a NAS builders *dream*!
Always like to see the behind the scenes,
Thanks Steve
13:05 Yo... You would actually be AMAZED at how many people WOULD LOVE to have a pc case they can hang on their wall and "fit" with their "Trophies"..
This is super cool, thanks for sharing. Also, I've owned InWin cases and they are creative in design and surprisingly durable.
Heyhey lot's of little Proxxon micro machines. Love those. Use their Dremel version since 15 years now.
I remember seeing the InWin wood mini-ITX cases a while back - I'd have got one if I were renewing at the time - love their stuff, great to head directly from the designers rather than marketing.
That some crazy PC mode cases. Kind of looks like something from robocop.
It's so wholesome watching Steve interacting a little bit on their native language! For me it shows much respect!
Steve switching to chinese in that interview was so cool and i loved the reaction of the guy being like "nice i can talk to him". Also kudos to the other guy who was translating just rolling with it.
that is awesome, thanks GN and In Win
More of this, please. Thanks, Steve!
Even if a lot of their products don't go to market at least you can see their innovation and designs be made into reality.
super cool,
thanks Steve and the team
Nice, an actual plesant conversation with engineers who are passionate about what they do.
10:18 - I dig that colored case with the hot swappable drive bays. It's aesthetically more pleasing to have displayed than (I hate to say it) Silverstone's offerings, even though I have built and owned many products from them. If they make variations for 2.5" variants I'm pretty sure many will want them.
Dude that modular concept is SOOOOO cool! I would 100% use that
This was a treat to watch. Thanks
Super awesome thank you so much for showing this to us. And Thank you InWin. Love you guys so much
i really shoudl get my hands on one of their cases for my next build to support them. they mess around and put together so much cool stuff
I'm skeptical about that silencer panel. I think it'll be barely noticeable noise suppression.
Inwin does make fun, unique cases. They have no many options that I never could settle on one in their lineup whenever I am doing a build. I'm still 18 months from a new build. Inwin probably will have the case of my dreams by then.
Fans and cases have improved so much, the only thing I can hear outside my case is a 3.5" mechanical hdd
In Win is such a cool company. That 13:57 case and its top panel opening like that, reminds me of the retractable sunroof from my 2005 Fiat Stilo. I LOVE IT and I would 100% buy that regardless of the price.
Thats a good finger chopper Steve :D
What a cool company being this open with their past and current designs.
Man they KILL IT with these designs. I'd love to see a modular 3dprint added case. Could be so damn cool. The problem is 3d printers are small.
Also, huge thank you, i really love watching these videos, they are my favorite part of the channel.
I've always really admired In Win's creativity.
I wish in win had more case like they used to. U almost never see them anymore. My first pc build was with a in win tower with the motherboard tray was removable. Great products.
