As a Sydney supporter, Carlton at 1 makes sense. We have a history over the last 10 years of choking of GF day at the MCG against Victorian teams. Carlton is clearly a better product than when we played them 5-6 weeks ago. If the GF was at the SCG i'd be confident we are firm favourites, but we have demons with the MCG and the big stage. I hope we first make it to the GF and then prove me wrong. Horse deserves and needs that second flag. If he can win it, the keys to the Sydney job are his for the next 15-20 years

If the umpires even up the way they officiate McKay, Curnow and De Koning to the same way they do the rest of the league, they’re not that great. De Koning should have 10-15 frees if the umpires actually READ the rules on ruck contests.
Is it really hard for essendon supporters to admit they were simply outplayed by the better team? I have full respect for what they have done thus far this season, but the supporters would do well to be a bit more gracious in defeat.
