      I’ll tell you but please use ultimate caution and precision. Use the smallest finest punch and punch a dent in the center. Drill with the absolute skinniest drill bit you can find down as far as the screw goes. Drop a drop off lithium grease to loosen. Put the punch back in and gently wiggle it out. Good luck.

    BIG NO NO...DON'T APPLY TO THE SHAFT!!! If you are going to use an adhesive, apply it to the bore in the motor bell. That way, any excess is forced up and out where it can be wiped off and NOT down into the motor.

    What keeps the bell attached? Would friction on the permanent magnets not prevent the bell from spinning? Or is it friction between the shaft and the bell??

    • @sciencebygabrawy
      @sciencebygabrawy  8 месяцев назад +1

      It’s the friction between the shaft and the bell that keeps the bell on. It’s really, really tight. The permanent magnets never touch the magnets on the bell but I suppose the magnetic attraction does help keep the bell in place a bit as well.

  • @REINER-ud2zw
    @REINER-ud2zw Месяц назад

    Hi... Why is the engine so worn out? What happened? Did you have an accident? Or is this normal wear and tear?

    • @sciencebygabrawy
      @sciencebygabrawy  Месяц назад

      Well, it wasn’t really the motor that went bad. It was the motor bell that wore out, only because it’s made out of soft aluminum. I think what happens is when the blades are stopped abruptly the shaft wants to keep going, because it is still being driven by the motor and so that shaft, which is made out of a really strong alloy, wears out the soft aluminum on the motor bell little by little with each crash.

    • @idontcare7961
      @idontcare7961 26 дней назад

      The bell is the one that actually turns the freefloating shaft. Shaft of the motor is only to keep the bell centered and carry the weight of the drone. The motor itself can not possibly even spin itself off the shaft as its free to turn as the bell is spun by the stator with permanent magnets on the rotor (bell)
      So the cause of loose bell is most probably just crash that bent the bell and made it wiggle.

    Is it possible to take off motor on the dj mini 2? Tried , very hard

    • @sciencebygabrawy
      @sciencebygabrawy  3 месяца назад

      They are designed to be very tight and almost impossible to take off. This is intentional. If the motor bell comes loose and falls off during flight. It’s over. The reason why mine was so easy is because it was broken.

  • @paimun67

    Hello, I had an accident with my M4P and this part that you are putting back in its place I need to take it out to correct it. It turns out that due to the impact this blade support is slightly deformed and does not rotate freely. Do you know how I can disassemble it? Thank you very much and greetings in advance.

    • @sciencebygabrawy
      @sciencebygabrawy  5 месяцев назад

      I’m not exactly sure where you’re working but if I’m hearing you correctly, and the blades aren’t rotating freely, if the rod that holds the blades in place is somehow deformed, buying a new motor bell assembly may be the only thing you can do. That may not be much help but that’s what it sounds like without seeing it. The motor bell is very very snug on the motor gear. It must be carefully wiggled up to get it off if it’s not already loose from being damaged

    • @sciencebygabrawy
      @sciencebygabrawy  5 месяцев назад

      It’s done the same way. Normally the mirror bell should be very snug in place by cogs that fit tightly with the shaft. If you are having trouble getting it off, I wonder if that’s even the problem?!?

    is solid there is nothing wobbling - but after the last crash the motor bell seems to be grazing somewhere inside - but i can't get it off. don't want to change the engine either i don't want to solder it XD and send it in and wait forever or maybe get one with 120 high limit it's a 2023 model without the stupid c1 certificate !

    Arm assemblies aren’t $100 or even close but if you can’t solder glueing and things like this seem to be the go to.
    I personally wouldn’t risk it for the drone and others safety…

    You think it's possible to remove the bell from an good drone? (I have some metal paricles on the magnets)

    • @sciencebygabrawy
      @sciencebygabrawy  8 месяцев назад +1

      Yes, you can and that might be the only way to remove the metal bits. Now, that bell is really tight on there and it’s supposed to be because it’s held in place by friction. Pull straight up. Don’t wiggle back and forth. Just one straight motion. Then use tweezers or even putty to remove the particles. There’s a small chance that compressed air could knock of the metal bits without taking anything apart. Let us know what you end up doing! Good luck!

    • @sciencebygabrawy
      @sciencebygabrawy  6 месяцев назад

      If you’re using the correct size Phillips screwdriver, and the head isn’t stripped, then maybe they just overtightened the screws in which case maybe just drop a drop of lithium grease or WD-40 and see between the threads. That’s just very strange to me but I can’t think of any other reason that the screws won’t come out.
