Just like corn fufu wrapped in plantain leave there is this additional flavour to it. St time u csn eat the fufu without soup😁🙈 there is something about plantain leave🥰. Ah! I miss home
you can get banana leaves at 2,50eu at the Asian shop opposite the st. peters hospital at brusselsestraat. I used them each time I needed them and they were great. Banana leaves gives the kwacoco that unique taste.
I felt it when she said I'm not going to spend 25euros on banana leaves🤣😂🤣😂 something that is growing behind my mom's compound. Like seriously I stopped cooking with ginger when I came to Europe gosh that thing is so expensive here and I remember how we chopped the thing back home and throw away sometimes my mom will burn them yet it will still grow and lots of lots of it
So nice my sister... But please because of the bad outcome of cooking directly in alliumin paper, kindly place a plastic paper inside the aluminum foil paper then add food before cooking. You'll definitely like it.
Plastic is cancerous when it gets into contact with heat. Avoid plastic dishes, cups and bags. It is not safe for the environment either. Aluminum foil is way better than plastic.
I went to buy plantain leaves and it was beyond my budget $1.39 per pound 😲. Oh Please, I'll use the foil even though "they" say it's bad for you but I will use the clear plastic wrap first, then the foil on top. Kwacoco hear I come🙌
Looks soooo yummy😋😋😋. Been watching your vidéos for quiete sometime and even tried the kati kati recipe😋😋😋😋 . Good old memories. May i have your hair dresser's contact pls. She should be very good at dread locks.im in belgium and from the mark of cooking products you are using l guess you too should be in belgium.
Thanks so much dear, yes I am in Belgium, but I actually did that hair in Cameroon and kept it as long as I could. I tried to get someone here to replicate it but it was a mess. Still looking for someone who can do it that good😆
Stop calling them dumplings they are not. It’s kwacoco say it as it is. You already give the names of the ingredients why are you trying to create an English name for it? You dnt hear Other cultures trying to make their traditional meal names and other sound English friendly. What’s wrong with us?
@@KesCookIsland pardon my rudeness I did enjoy your recipe. But this jumped at me for sure. it’s very wannabe and unnecessary to try to mordenize Authentic African things. A thing which unfortunately mainly African people feel the need to do to themselves.
@@tg7112 I see what you mean, there is a difference between being inclusive in a description and being a wannabe. I see nothing wrong with the former however, our Pan- Africanism should span beyond food nomenclature. It is not that serious
@@KesCookIsland well, it’s that serious. There’s no big issue that doesn’t rest on compact foundation of fundamental issues. Non-western cultures celebrated around the world are recognized by these little things that stick because the people are unapologetic about their originality. It’s a lot of things including meals and their names that build a culture. Imagine translating your name every time you had to say it to an outsider because you were trying to be “inclusive”. Describing the ingredients is great and you did an awesome job with that in the description, but calling kwacoco cocoyam dumplings is unnecessary and inappropriate.
@@tg7112 oh well! I see you will not let it rest. I will not engage any further with you on this matter. If I serve my non-Cameroonian guest akara beans, I can decide to say beans fritters if that will help them understand what I am talking about. You don't get to tell me what is appropriate on my channel, no! We are not in a cultural anthropology class. We are even having this exchange in English, don't you think it would have been great to have a common language that's not English? Have a great week ahead Tg and thanks for stopping by my channel
AlSo if you don't want it to be too crumbly, add a few red macabo instead of using just white macabo cocoyams. The red gives it a unique elasticity.
I love this recipe sis! Thanks for sharing
Luv your kitchen.so neat
I prefer it more in plantain leaves .it has dis fyn smell ad extra taste I like👇
