I would use the HU2000 to assist with hurricane damaged areas in multiple states. My expectation is to get involved based on my forty years of construction experience and give back as others gave when my wife and I lost all we had in the Beattyville, Kentucky flooding that occurred in March of 2021. I currently own the HC68 and have been considering a second headlamp for employees and my wife to use as we embark on our hurricane work adventure.
This is more in tune with what I do for work. I’m a welder here in the US and there are times my company had delays to bring us generator lights. I had a Milwaukee 500lm pocket magnet floodlight and it got stolen on one of our jobs. This would be great to mount in a hardhat when in high or tight places and no light available otherwise. Very informative.
I have a number of headlamps. While I use top rated hand-held torches for all my uses, when it come to working in a tight cupboard or doing some precision work, I must use an headlamp. Headlamps get mistreated very easily if you are camping or working on a car, or misplaced when working in a closet. I still have some headlamps with a bi-pin 10W halogen bulb, powered by Ni-MH batteries at the back of the head, making 200 lumens! I like this new Nitecore headlamp because it has the battery at the back of the head, this is how I have used headlamps for decades; I consider the front battery to be a limitation, unless they are a couple of AAA cells - of negligible weight. Greetings from the UK, Anthony
My friends and i bought the HU2000 and we are happy that Nitecore build flashlights witch are powered by Powerbanks. Till the HU2000 our daily Headlamp was the HU60 with Remote. Please don't stop making Headlamps or Campinglights or Flashlights witch are powered by Powerbanks for endless runtime. ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Lumen output v. runtime v. size and weight usually has compromises. This looks like a fantastic option. Having just upgraded to the MH25 Pro, I'm surpised at the output of the Nitecore range. I'm involved in a lot of remote, night time (native forest) pest control so this goes on the list of 'must-haves'. Great video, as usual! 😎
Spent most of time in the backcountry as an guide leading people kayaking, hiking or just appreciating nature. Having a headlamp with unlimited brightness is definitely a plus. I like how easy it is to change the battery and the light stays on while doing so. Definitely a huge plus point for me. No more scrambling to replace batteries in the dark for me, if I could get my hands on one. Kudos for always great products with the users in mind!
From the thumbnail i thought this is real heavy and bad but when you explained the feature of a tiny battery inside i saw the front unit is only plastic and looks really lightweight! I still wont get it anytime soon but only because i just ordered a Nu27! I love Nitecore keep coming with new ingenious stuff for everybody to choose!
This HU2000..Is good in a large warehouses, particularly those that operate during early morning or late evening hours, headlights can help navigate aisles and ensure visibility for pedestrians.
This headland would be perfect to assist in late shift and night shift work for my work as police. Due to location of work we have a lot of rural and coastal missing people where large area searches are needed in all weathers. This headtorch would be perfect and has option to be used with different power sources to match the need.
I'd love one of these for work! I'm an electrician working mainly in industrial settings and I have gone through many head lamps, I use one everyday.. Dust, dirt, and water always seems to creep into them and they eventually just stop working. I really love the idea of using the HU2000 and attaching it to the strap of my overalls. The slim battery pack would sit perfectly in my large zippered chest pocket and I could easily run the cable between them with a clip or two. Epic light!
Having just purchased this light (HU2000), I was surprised to find that the stated runtime of 2000 lumen is NOT for the full 9 hours. The included runtime table in the user manual shows that the light drops by nearly 1300 lumen to around 750 lumen within the first 30 minutes of runtime. By the 9 hour mark, the lumen output tapers to around 600 lumen.
This is very interesting headlamp. I recently started doing nighttime trekking and camping in extreme conditions, fog, heavy snow, etc. Nothing beats Nitecore throwers in these weather conditions with the exception that battery is shortened by up to 70% when you go below -5° This is why I ordered the Nitecore Summit 20000 battery. Exceptional product, really. If You manage your battery levels, you can achieve amazing things comfortably. REMEMBER TO WARM THE LIGHT, BEFORE YOU CHARGE IT WHEN BELOW 0°. I really doubt the reliability of flooders in heavy fog and snow. When met with a lot of particles infront of the light, they seem to light up the fog and actually impact your eyesight in a very negative way when you are trying to see further. I currently use an old HU60. It has the benefit of running a little hotter, which increases the runtime in cold, cause it doesn't let the light get too cold. It has warm colour profile, so the spot beam doesn't blind you when met with snow of dense fog.
My wife started tattooing and a lot of the things with longer run times are too bulky, heavy for her. She hasn’t found anything yet. Stoked that these came out
It would be great to have this gear during my search and rescue ops here in the Philippines especially during night ops and wilderness (land slides). More power to you and all of Nitecore!!! 🇵🇭💚🙏
I would like to use this as an HVAC installer going in attics all day. Would light the whole attic up easily. Please , please, please. 🙏 Also I live in Louisiana and this would be perfect for a hurricane as I already have a ton of backup batteries.
I too have spent way more hours than I want to admit in peoples attics. Surefire Maximus is the best! Check it out. Also super simple as there is no on and off, just a large dial from full output down to very dim. It is the best work light ever.
Whish i had this when working in coal mine. I will look into getting this one for using when skiing in the wintertime. Since it’s dark almost 24/7 above the arctic circle this would make the trip safer and more enjoyable for me when putting up my tent and when packing everything down again.
I would use it while I work. Mostly construction. Since it’s getting dark earlier the sun coming up later, having a great headlamp will make all the difference.
I have retinitis pigmentosa (RP) meaning very bad night vision, so I use flashights and headlamps all the time. I would use this HU2000 when I go outdoors with my dogs. The wider light spot would be perfect when picking up the dog poop.
I like it. Seems like a flexible head lamp that can be used in many ways. I’m Impressed with the red light function as have never seen one with that kind of output. Where I go many insects have never even seen any artificial lights and they come for a visit making life uncomfortable. The little red lights I have also make walking around at night extremely dangerous as we have many deadly snakes here in Australia, and they are out in force at night in the hotter parts of the year.
the wide beam pattern and lightened weight on the head would make this a great mountain biking light. For so much light its quite affordable too, since most people already have a USB-C powerbank they could use.
love this head torch. my current torch runs on only a single AA battery, its fairly bright but only lasts for 25 mins on a good night. and has a habit of going out at critical moments. i live in philips but work in iraq and we live off of generator power on site which regularly dies during hot sumer nights. having this torch would be a game changer for me, no more night time toilet trips in the dark and my night shift would no longer mean changing battery 10 times 😂.
I just got the HU 2000 and I got the carbon 6K extender kit. That would be great if somehow Nightcore would make a coupler for the bungee USB cords so that you could attach two or more of them together and they could charge like five or six bucks each. I would buy two of them right now. This way you can have the lamp on your backpack and use several of the bungee USB cords and connect them all together using the clips so that the battery could be deep in your backpack if you’re not using it as a headlamp, but want to light the trail ahead of you having the light on your backpack strap. Right now you can use another cord, but it would be really cool to use those proprietary bungee versions.
I work in oilfileds and liquid nitrogen process plants. Alot of times on night shift for 12 hours plus. Sometimes in the rain and snow. Something like this is ideal for me.
I am a dedicated Rock Engineer working in the underground mining environment, where my primary responsibility is to conduct early entry safe declaration inspections. These inspections are crucial for identifying hazardous conditions, particularly areas at risk of ground falls, which could endanger the lives of the underground personnel. The Nitecore HU2000 headlamp would be an invaluable tool in my work, as it would enable me to better detect potential dangers in low-visibility conditions, ensuring early identification of unsafe areas. Having this reliable equipment will enhance my ability to protect the safety and well-being of my team.
HC 65 UHE type headlamp series. Very effective tool while driving and travelling during very dark winter sky in the middle of Upper Hunter mountain farm land in regional NSW Australia.👊
I can't believe how much detail you have in this review man. Every question I had you answered plus more I didn't know I would ask yet. Do you deliver to Australia?
I have the MH-25 flashlight but it has a powerful hotspot, not to much spill, so this HU2000 would be just perfect for cave exploration and hiking the trails@night; great design and quality 👌
I do pest control and inspect Crawl spaces for termites and other pests. Been looking for a powerful headlamp and that Lasts as well as medium sized edc flashlight. This looks perfect for that. The better I can see the better job I can do.

i work as a school crosding guard at two of my kocal schools, 4 hours per day.. the city will not purchase flashing stop signs for us, after watching this video this seens perfect.. cant tell you how many times ive had to jump out if the way because vehicles dont see you in the middle of the road even with hi viz clothing and a stop sign, recently crossing guard positions have been added to the top 5 most dangerous jobs.. i know shocking…. the dlashing red light option on this geadband would be perfect for that and a low settibg regular light for early mornings in the winter would also be awesome, esoecially with the run time if this light.
I got this without a review available yet and i did not read the manual. I did not know about the unplug feature. Haha My only concern is that the connection at the back might get wet when it's raining, although the light itself is supposed to be ip68
Freelance gynecologists here desperately in need of a great work light a I sometimes pull double shifts……."just kidding but as an automotive technician I could definitely make good use of that light
It would be nice to know how much the output steps down over time with this design compared to the HC65 UHE. I have already ordered the HC65 UHE and would like to have a backup unit either in my car or as something I can let someone else borrow when in need.

Need a headlamp for running our sled dogs at night. Tough, cold temp capability, long run time and long beam are key for us. Had HU60 but connection failed. Loved it otherwise.
I am helping here in México the hurricane desaster and we here cant get this type of products that could help in the night to search for people adding that we fight agains crocodiles at night
I often visit vendors that have made modular labs but they aren't hooked up to power yet. So there is not lighting inside and I need to inspect the interior. That's what I would use this for.
Tire to send this question on Instagram… First off, your Nitecore videos are amazing. Well done. Thank you for the knowledgeable and high value videos you produce! I do have a question… I do watch repair and Gunsmithing, and need a headlamp with low light and medium light, adjustable aim. Mostly I need comfort and long hours. I don’t want to have to charge the headlamp every day or after just a few hours. I have the NU11, and its charge doesn’t last long enough. What would you recommend from nitecores lineup? Headlamp 20+ Hours Runtime Low light mode (50ish lumens) Medium light (150’ish lumens) Comfortable for wearing 6 to 8 hours Adjustable aim Thank you !!!
@@NitecoreSG thanks for the quick response! Is the comfort of those strong style head bands ok? Looks like it might feel a bit awkward or the strings may not be very comfortable. How does the NU25 comfort compare the NU27 or NU43 ?

Each lamp from nitecore has its own special use. Each is amazing as is the HU2000.

Love nitecore, own many and will buy many more so happily.;)))
I would use it for search and rescue that’s pretty good
This is a clever design. 😊
With that run time I would strap it to my helmet and ride my mountain bike at night in the bush here in Australia.

Hi. Thanks for the review!
I am seriously thinking about buying a Nitecore NU27 for trail run. But I'm concerned about its operating time from the built-in battery. In your opinion, is it possible to use additional batteries with it (“Nitecore Carbon Battery™ 6K Kit” or “Nitecore 18650 Extension Battery Case”)?

I am runner and use for early morning before sunrise and sunset during before dark. Also I am deaf and I am more visual and it would a lot. Thank you.
I would use this for Search and Rescue. We do ground searches and Technical Rope Rescues. Does this have a mount that can hook it to a NVG mount on my rescue helmet?

I am helping here in México the hurricane desaster and we here cant get this type of products that could help in the night to search for people adding that we fight agains crocodiles at night
so good video i like it, nice job like yours others videos. continue like this
Search and rescue run time is ideal for hunting trail walking observing wild animals at night
I’d use it to to set bathroom cabinets in houses that don’t have power.
I often visit vendors that have made modular labs but they aren't hooked up to power yet. So there is not lighting inside and I need to inspect the interior. That's what I would use this for.
Nice review...would use this on the farm at night!
Tire to send this question on Instagram…
First off, your Nitecore videos are amazing. Well done. Thank you for the knowledgeable and high value videos you produce!
I do have a question…
I do watch repair and Gunsmithing, and need a headlamp with low light and medium light, adjustable aim. Mostly I need comfort and long hours. I don’t want to have to charge the headlamp every day or after just a few hours. I have the NU11, and its charge doesn’t last long enough.
What would you recommend from nitecores lineup?
Headlamp
20+ Hours Runtime
Low light mode (50ish lumens)
Medium light (150’ish lumens)
Comfortable for wearing 6 to 8 hours
Adjustable aim
Thank you !!!
@@aarondbritt try the NU25 UL or NU25 V2, sounds like what you need. Yes the Nu11 is not the best for long runtime.
@@NitecoreSG thanks for the quick response! Is the comfort of those strong style head bands ok? Looks like it might feel a bit awkward or the strings may not be very comfortable. How does the NU25 comfort compare the NU27 or NU43 ?
Why are there no external battery options combined with the headlamp sale ?
What kind of run times do you get with the 6k battery?
I'm a dumpster diver....this is perfect 🙂
I would use it to go fishing in very early morning and night time.
what the difference for the HC 65uhe
I would like use that, when driving student home from school on night class..😮
I would use it to treks through forest, God bless.
I would use this underground in the subways of NYC where i work
So if there is no battery behind the leds does that mean longer than a few seconds/minutes at higher output?
Yes. A good 10-20mins
