I have the same problem , said to be more common on lowered cars because of the rougher ride, and dread taking apart the dash, but also don't really want to pay the extensive labor costs for what is essentially a low skill task, and that might be given to a guy who might snap old plastic in haste.
Glad to have learned there is a repair part available. Previously I had only seen DIY metal wire or screw fixes, which considering the labor involved to get to the repair might have a durability advantage, but I'll just go with the plastic pre made part anyway, trusting it might fit better than my attempts at a first time mirror support fabrication.

That’s a lot of work man, you’ve got more balls than I do. My HUD works fine but, when you look down in there, the glass is foggy for some reason so I’ve been thinking about doing something about it. Let me know when you’re ready, I think it’s better to just have you do it, cool?

I think I fixed mine with a screw. One of the 1st repairs I needed to make when I bought the car.

How many rattles does your car have now? I give you a lot of credit... I would never attempt this.
