What does coding modules mean? Surely it doesn’t mean what it implies because that entails a jbox and maybe more.

Autel is the one my shop provides with a wireless j box
I can do all that with my Autel MX808. Except all the extra things i wish it could do. I cant go into the extra diagnostics like run active tests, extra settings for brake bleeding. Some icons are there, but it's one of those things I noticed on other Autel scan tools, after i bought mine.

@@Papisartee bcuz the one i have is a step down from the one in this video. So the added features aren't available for the one I have. I checked into buying the upgraded version and the price is more than I'd like to spend.

Do you have to pay every year in order for this OBD reader to work ? If you dont pay does that still work ? Do you need to have internet to used it ? If you don't updates does that still work without updates ? Out from the box can you used it without wifi or internet ? Can this scan for Fuel Pressure ? And can this do compression test ?

Eric, I picked up a launch scan tool and believe it or not JLR (Jaguar Land Rover) made an official statement from the factory tech to me that using an aftermarket scan tool (not OEM) is the cause of all the codes that came up when they scanned the vehicle for repair at the dealer. so they refused to even except any of the codes that came up on their scan, because my scan tool was the cause and there's nothing wrong. yeah, I know it was all BS but I wanted to get your opinion as well.
That's a bunch of BULL - they probably couldn't figure out the issue, right ?
@@thesmartguy3523 this was not the dealer tech, it was the JLR factory tech. not that they couldn't figure it out, but that they didn't want to. There were a lot of codes. Including one short and one module failure. they didn't even want to look at them because they said they weren't real codes just caused by the scan tool and their second excuse was if the customer didn't complain about the specific problem related to the code, then don't even look at it.
That's so sad that nobody wants to back their product anymore
I definitely agree that's some BS but I've actually had a few rare instances where one scanner would read a bunch of codes on a certain module and cause one of the dash lights to come on, then I grab a different scanner and no codes pop up and dash light is gone

@@leea3531 so far i ike it better then my snap on, although the snap on is better on domestic stuff and the launch shines more on asian and euro stuff. overall i really like it and with the latest update it now shows a topoligy map of the networks and what is on the networks. just keep in mind its not a programmer.

Have you tried it on any obd1 systems? I mainly work on older ford and chevy. Seeing live data on those would be a big help.
The only problem though is the price. My TOPDON phoenix lite 2 can do everything thing this tool does and cost me 70% less money
perhaps the TOPDON is made in CHINA, and the LAUNCH is US.
Launch has a mind control feature where it convinces each customer to sell their car and buy a golf cart. Pretty ingenious!

From what I see the Phoenix light has online ecu coding for like 4 cars...launch has on and offline coding for a lot more vehicles

Launch will not do mileage adjustment. Look into XTOOL for that.

Eric what about the Launch CRP 123E scanner? I was looking at the Mucar and Fox well scanner under 200
I’m not familiar with the Mucar or Foxwell but I think the Launch is good for the price. Check out the XTOOL IP508. Also a great tool for the price.

XTOOL is great. They just have a lot of bugs that needed to be worked out.
Yeah I bought xtool d8 bt it only work for about three months blue tooth stopped communicating with the tablet

How is the customer support since it's an international model that's not supported by Launch USA?
Customer support sucks which is one of the few downsides for this tool. I once called Launch here in the US and they told me that they couldn't help me since it was an international product, instead they told me to email their Chinese company counterpart

What is the price for subscriptions on the launch?
The current update at this time is around $525 for one year. The scanner comes with 2 years of free updates from the original time of purchase. I just buy a new one every 2 years since the they usually go on sale on Amazon for just a bit over $900 for black Friday.
It's US$1000 (AU$1500) if bought in the USA, but it's AU$3000 (US$2000) if we want to buy it in Australia.
Everything's so much cheaper in the USA!
