I have both, Avenger in Blue and Colt. The Colt was supposed to be sent woth a silver dial and it arrived on a cream dial. It looked so good I kept it. I just can’t wear them with a bracelet, I am not careful enough. I change the Avenger to a blue rubber original strap (the one with the holes) and the Colt to a brown leather bracelet from a vendor in Kiev on ETSY. I wanted the Colt for casual elegant and the Avenger for more casual attire. They both are great quality. They look fabulous!!!
They are 2 different watches. You can dress up a Colt with the right leather strap to elegant, calf or croc. On the other hand the Avenger stretches to casual maybe casual elegant with a black, brown or navy blue calf skin strap, don’t buy a pattern strap, it will not hold up to it. If you get one of them buy it with the bracelet, then you can dress both for business attire (they are also very thin (less than 12.5mm) also a factory bracelet will cost you an eye versus an original strap that is way more affordable. Also If you buy them or it, make sure you buy the one you really need, I am advising you since I have both, I needed both (my wife will tell you I only need her). Both great watches, worth every penny!!
I bought this 2 weeks ago black dial... out the box was running +4.. It’s improved since then.. last week +1.5 over 7 days and +0 last 24hrs.. Excellent!

Hi, I just bought a Transocean 38mm ref a1631012 black dial on leather. If you hold interest for this versatile dress midsize piece, I'd love to see your take on it . The box sapphire with blue AR tint is of excellent execution. Paired to a mate black grainy dial featuring a grand date. I think its discontinued but second hand prices are fair!
Ah.If Breitling only offered this in 40-41 mm with say a 48 mm lug to lug it would be hard to pass up.I love everything about this watch except its massive size.

I'm a Breitling lover since the mid 80s when bought my first chronograph with leather bracelet in 87 still manual winder . 96 bought a Colt again with the leather bracelet but after a year got stainless steel . Since I sail a lot an old girl friend gave me as birthday an Erick Tabarly a model not well known . Like the Avenger but looks so much like my Colt that can see a reason to buy one . May get a SuperOcean instead .
It isn't fully milled. It's stamped out from a thicker piece of glowing steel sheet, sandblast on the inside and milled and brushed edgy on the outside
Great watch but as a daily would prefer it in 40 with 20 lug width. That said I have the previous avenger GMT and it makes a great weekend casual watch.
if i had a nickel for every time someone with small wrists said they'd "prefer this 43 in a 40" "prefer this 42 in a 39" "prefer this 40 in a 38" "prefer this 38 in a 36" "prefer this 36 in a 35" i'd be drowning in nickels
All kudos to the obviously good watch, but at the very start of the video you pointed the exact reason why I would never go for the Avenger instead of very similar Colt and/or Superocean. Its size is simply ridiculous for the 3-hand watch, and not only the case size, but the lug-to-lug as well. Seiko is known for making large diver's watches, but they are always wearable due to the smaller wingspan of the lugs. Breitling still hasn't learned the most important lesson in creating a perfect oversized watch - NEVER do a lug-to-lug over 50mm, especially if the watch is equipped with their wonderful, albeit massive steel bracelet. So, this one is a hard pass for me, as I tried it and found it too large for not only for mine, but also for most of the wrists as well. But good review nevertheless.
It's a keeper. Not really an 'investment' as such. Keep it and pass it down to your kid one day ... the Breitling aftercare is world class... i mean it. A friend of mine visited their factory about 2 and a half years ago, where they do all the servicings. Highest possible standards you can ever image...

What!???? They didn’t tell me!

True, but it is made of solid rhodium, which is a more expensive precious metal. I confirmed this with Breitling via email.
