When I was a kid my Dad built street rods 46-48 Fords were a specialty for some reason...like the one y'all have...my Dad would pull the flatheads rebuild'em and sell'em...what he did was get a Hemi engine to drop in...his work car was a 46 Ford business coupé...later it became my oldest brothers first car and his first hot rod... we've all had many street rods over the years but none we loved as much as the ones Dad helped us build....
That was fun. Now we know what part of your hobby your dog likes the best! Loved how he was ready inside the car for a ride before it was even running.
Love that car! The dog riding was a trip. My buddy has 2 pittbulls I use to take them everywhere with me when I lived there my extra cab was there area Lol
Watched the parts buy earlier, and now this. Thank you for sharing your knowledge, passion, and hard work with us! We enjoy and share your channel as much as you put it out! Great weekend to you all.
Matt and all...Super Cool car - Same age as me and it brings back a lot of memories of my brother. What a great time to grow up. Love Moon... Easy to see he is the supervisor and inspector for the shop. Thanks for all the hard work and great assortment of rides!
You guys are having way too much fun. What a great dog. Any dog that I ever had would have taken off running as soon as the door opened. The SBF looks really cool with all of the new shiny parts. Nice victory.
Morning Matt, Mike & Steve, it's always encouraging to see a project move under it's own power, one thing that drives me nuts!!! rattles!!! I know there's parts in the back...please fix the rattles!!! Really enjoy your channel!!! Be safe!! God Bless!!!
Hey Mike, good news, MSD sends along that tool with the "add the end" spark plug wire kits. I also have a box with several sets of "7 good wires" for that "just in case" scenario. :)
I agree, the air cleaner and valve covers look sharp together! When you get it all tightened up, some insulation and carpet, and maybe some sound deadener in the doors & roof, it'll be a sweet cruiser for dad! I thought I wouldn't like the straight pipes with a SBF, but they do sound nice for around town - might be a bit much on the freeway, though. Any thoughts on sound deadeners? Lizard Skin? it doesn't look as techno as the foil/butyl types. Keep up the good work! I'm your dad's age, so very jealous! I wonder what color he will prefer?
Hey Matt, Mike and Steve What a great way to start a sunday morning. Seeing Dad's daily taken for a spin. My second car was a black 46 Ford coupe with a worn out 8BA. I sure miss that car. I sold it when I joined the Army in 1966. Moon is a great asset to ITG. He finds lost items in the shop for you. He keeps a sharp eye on the road ahead for you. He helps you eat some of the wonderful treats your fans send you. He inspects almost everything in the shop for you. What more could you ask for from a dog ? Stay Warm, Be Safe
Fords always require a ground strap from the battery to the chassis and from the chassis to the block "at the starter". Had this problem a few times in the past. Easy enough to try.
nice I have a 46 tudor that I had since 2003 stock 46 block with s-19 5 speed & 325 rear . custom interior stock black paint job. most of the work done by my son & i. so good luck with the 47.
Man! that Ford engine sure sounds good! As they say a Ford in a Ford is the only way. your father will be a happy daddyo when he gets to drive this fat-fendered gem.
@@IronTrapGarage great looking doggy..long time watcher..love the early rods just dont fit in em..your teaching me how to weld on the Eastwood channel..thanks
A Sprint car engine building friend runs Ford 302-289c.i. A secret is they have no intake problems, it's the exhaust side of the equation, Go larger exhaust valves,if possible 🤠
1:09 Nice to have sponsors. So Eastwood and Holley are the two big ones. What are the others ? 1:27 "Running good" for one person is not the same as another. The other person might have not known his arse from his elbow. 6:43 You want to know how to make the engine less ugly ? Taylor the ignition wires and put them in looms.

Laughing my ass off. About fell off the couch when you came up the driveway rattling and screeching. Sounded like a blind horse in a junkyard. I've been in the same position a few times, right down to the 100 pound dog in the seat next to me.
Great vid, Moon steals the show and makes me laugh !
She went from junk to jalopy! It's a good day indeed!

Moon looks a little concerned 😂 she’s looking good Dad will be pleased 😎👍
Finally an ITG video with a staring role for Moon, not just a cameo. The dog rocks and works for cardboard treats! What’s not to love about that?
That was fun. Now we know what part of your hobby your dog likes the best! Loved how he was ready inside the car for a ride before it was even running.
I was laughing hearing all the noises it made going down the road! You just gotta do the first real drive! I know how it feels. Great job!
It’s a fun step in a rebuild!
Congrats Matt, a big day for the 47 and Moon. I enjoyed the ride myself. LOL
Love that car! The dog riding was a trip. My buddy has 2 pittbulls I use to take them everywhere with me when I lived there my extra cab was there area Lol
Matt, thank you for taking care of these treasures.
Looks like Moon was wanting you to light 'em up! (after you bolt down the seat, that is)

Was there ever in this era of cars a station wagon? I was wondering. The bodystyle was very very elegant.
Woody wagons or panel delivery usually.
@@IronTrapGarage thank you.
