one of the big reasons i love reaction channels. So many good movies that people just didnt watch or didnt really digest, and now that we're older all these movies make so much more sense.
@@raadraad Would be so great to have Chloe Moretz return to a superhero role in the MCU alongside Dafne as X-23. Maybe she could be Gwenpool or something.
Big Daddy speaks with broken cadence as a tribute to Adam West in the original Batman. Hit-Girl is one of the best things to happen in the comic book movie genre
In the comic Big Daddy is less of a good guy. He was an accountant who was bored of his life, and he did kidnap and brainwash his daughter to be a super hero.
This is easily one of my fave superhero movies. It’s got the actual realism, but then the suspense of disbelief factor that you can just get past, and also the humor... Yeah idk this one is a banger.
I can’t say enough..Chloe Moretz blew me away with her performance as Mindy McCready and Hit Girl. I couldn't believe how well she acted in a way where she was pure entertainment. I love this movie.
Chloe Grace Moretz trained with Jackie Chan's stunt team for a solid 3 months before filming and did most of her own stunts in this movie which made her an instant star!
You can find videos on RUclips of the training Chloe Grace went through for her role of Hit Girl. Most of the stunts and choreo she did herself. She's very talented and this, as well as Kick Ass 2, are amazing movies.
In her next movie (Let Me In) there were some stunts, and the director said he was happily surprised that she was perfectly ready to do them herself, because of her training for this movie.
One of Nicolas Cage’s genuinely best performances of his career. I still wish that he played Superman, watch old interviews about how he was preparing for the role, he had a true grasp on who and what the character represented.
Nicolas Cage has so many great movies. Moonstruck, Leaving Las Vegas, Matchstick Men, The Weather Man, WTC, Raising Arizona, Ghost Rider, Mandy, Willy’s Wonderland, Lord of War, National Treasure, Joe, Renfield, Knowing, Gone in 60 Second, Face Off, Con Air, The Rock, and so many more.
He was also in Zack Snyder's Arm of the Dead on Netflix. IMO, the movie was kinda boring but the way that it ended made it look like Omari was going to be in the sequel which I doubt they will do.
I would LOVE to see someone on the channel react to "Little Miss Sunshine" (2006) A dark comedy about a dysfunctional family on a 2 days road trip from New Mexico to California, trying to get there in time for the younger kid's child beauty pageant.
Nicolas Cage's character, Big Daddy is based on Batman...the way he's speaking is a callback to the 60's Batman TV series where Adam West as Batman spoke like that.
I watched Kick Ass in theatres when I was 10 with my Dad cause we went to the theatres randomly without checking the times. (Which was the first time I had ever done that.) So when we got there he was like, what’s playing and they told us Kick ass. To which he replied, “what’s that like? A superhero movie?”. And they said yea, so we watched it and my mom got pissed off lmao. But I loved the movie, core memory forsure
A little context: Kick-Ass and WATCHMEN were the movies that changed the game for superhero films. We got Deadpool, Suicide Squad, The BOYS now, but in that time those two movies took the superhero panorama through a whole new level.
I couldn’t place it until now, but I think Nic Cage’s speech and cadence is supposed to mimic or pay homage to Adam West’s Batman? Edit: oops, I just got to the post-watch section where Roxy mentions this 😅
I appreciate the fact that Big-Daddy kept guiding Hit-Girl on what to do, while he was on fire… a lot of ppl miss what Big Daddy was talking about, and why he’s talking that way, while basically dying--he was talking through the pain and reminding her what to do, while keeping her focus on surviving, and not worrying about him dying.
32:42 his name is Omari Hardwick. He has a STARZ series named Power that ran for 6 seasons and spawned 4 spin-offs. I think you guys should react to it.
This is easily Matthew Vaughn's best movie alongside layer cake. I feel Vaughn excels at making smaller budget movies. Whenever he is given a bigger budget, he goes into a more cartoony route.
So love this movie. I remember watching it, not know anything going in, and being enthralled by how amazing...how Kick Ass that movie truly is. And the music, one of the best scores in my opinion. The corridor scene alone. So damn good.
fun fact the artist who did the artwork for the original Kick Ass comic books did all the artwork for this movie like the drawing Nick 'drew' and the flashbacks to Daddy's origins I thought that was a neat touch.
2010 Chloë Grace Moretz's star really shined & she shown alot of versatility as an actress, from playing Hit-Girl in Kick-Ass to a vampire in Let Me In which was a remake of the Swedish film Let the right one in!
One of my fave movies of all time. My dad always used to let me watch movies I shouldn't have growing up and this was one of our favorites. I was even Hit Girl for Halloween when I was 12. The second one isn't as perfect in its script but there's a lot of fun to be had and I still love it for what it was. Loved seeing the Shejects react to this and love it as much as they did.
My favourite, not often mentioned, bit of Kick Ass trivia...is that Matthew Vaughan made Layer Cake several years earlier. Both films have Dexter Fletcher appearing as character called Cody and both feature the iconic, bright yellow Range Rover.
This upload was made for me! Kick-ass is one of my all time favorite comic book/"superhero" movies, and after Cabin in the Woods I was just thinkin about finding more Roxy/Tara uploads. Now I got this one off a silver platter, steamin under the dome ("uploaded 12 minutes ago" when I clicked).
I know Chloe does like 95% of her own stunts in both Kick Ass and Kick Ass 2. Along with any of her other movies she does like The 5th Wave, Let Me In, Amityville and Carrie she does most of her own stunts as long as she's allowed.
As much as I like Kingsman, this is Matthew Vaughn's masterpiece. It's so smart about how real humans would react to these situations... Funny, brutal, cool AF...
51:38 A lot of people, myself included, think that scene of him looking in the mirror is him realizing that he’s now an actual hero. Face covered in blood, gritting his teeth through the pain. But the score is triumphant. He passed through unbearable pain, and he’s still standing.
Nicolas Cage playing in this film was surprising his character big daddy and costume is most likely inspired by Batman but in the comic is different, and I’m just saying here that the movie is actually adapted from a comic but only changing a few things from the story
Even tho Tara didn’t know his name or the show he was on, I’m glad Omari Hardwick was recognizable enough to her that she knew he was on tv somewhere. Omari was on the show Power, which was the most popular show on the Starz channel. So popular, it spawned multiple spinoffs for the channel. His name and image is still prominent on the channel and in the Starz app.
Chloë Grace Moretz in this movie is a gift. We truly don't deserve her, so good. And she's not alone. This cast is fire, and they absolutely rocked this movie. It's so so good.
yayy roxy i was jamming along with ya at the end ive never noticed that song is in the end creds lol and i love the Pretty wreckless i seen them open for acdc this year and they rocked !
I love and adore this movie. Definitely one of my favorites, and it holds a special place in my heart. My late wife’s mom got me the DVD for Christmas the year it came out and it was a special moment because her mom didn’t care for me. She knew I read comics, so she thought it would be a good way to bury the hatchet. It was the first thing she gifted me and after that we slowly warmed up to each other. Thanks for bringing back some amazing memories and a great reaction. I loved watching this one with you two.

For YEARS!! I thought that Halloween Kit Kat commercial was saying Kick Ass!! N was in judgement. N only now, this year,.... I'm realizing....🤦🏾♀️😂

@NadeemShekh-uy9zn absolutely NOT!!!🤬
I love that both Evan Peters and Aaron Taylor-Johnson are in this. They have both been Quicksilver in different Marvel projects!

Underrated? I feel like this movie set a new standard for violent superhero movies
kickass has been one of my favorite movies ever since it came out!
Chloë Grace Moretz playing as hit girl gave a really incredible performance in this film, at a young age
The 3 great little violent girl performances: Chloe in this, Dafne Keen as X-23/Laura in Logan, and Natalie Portman in Leon

@@RonnieG The writing for Acolyte was just bad. I don't think anyone could have come out good.

YES, Power. One of the best crime-dramas of the past decade. Got a few spin-offs series as well.

@antoniochasten3192 one movie based on that verse was to play on the Time Loop theory that Omari points out.
Omg I can’t wait for the second one. I just know that they’re gonna be stoked when they witness Mother Russia.
Big Daddy was doing an impression of the 1960's Batman.
"Who are the good guys and who are the bad guys?"

Which Kick-Silver do you prefer -- Aaron Johnson or Evan Peters???
The MCU
Evan Peters
Dahmer-Silver left so much of a mark that seeing Evan in Wandavision drove us nuts.
Evan Peters probably though this was a very difficult choice as they brought very different and great things to their roles. 😅🤷♂️
Evan Peters is the REAL Quicksilver, Aaron Taylor-Johnson got shafted on his.
In a word, YES
No title has made me click faster. BEST Friday treat!
Taylor Momsen was also Cindylou Hoo, in Jim Carey's *Grinch.*
