  • Marilyn Maxwell enjoyed a stellar run as a classic Hollywood actress, but her life behind the scenes was much more shocking, dramatic, and downright provocative than any film or tv show she ever starred in.

Often if there is a lack of good relationship example from parents during childhood, we make crap partnership choices as adults, because we didn't learn what's good and what's not.

I never heard of this lady until now. I am so glad this video found me. She had a beautiful voice. The men she was with married or not. Wasn't worth. Her time and happiness. I feel bad her son found her. I bet that stayed with him for the rest of his life.

She was pretty so l assume she just didn't have that je ne sais quoi, and of course, luck factors in too. I wonder what happened to her son. It can't be easy being the son of a celebrity. And it was no doubt a heart wrenching shock to find his mom that way.

I grew up reading People magazine, my mom was an avid reader of celebrity magazines, which were throughout the household for decades. Still, Ive never heard of Marylin Maxwell so this video came as a treat-thanks!

...she never appreciated her success. Why do so many actor/actresses think they have to be super stars ?? I guess i just don't get it. The search for true love and super stardom ruined her. Upbringing ?? Who really knows...

She's who Sinatra couldn't stay away from?? She's got nothing on Monroe, who was far prettier... and sexier!🫤

Marilyn Maxwell was a native of Fort Wayne, Indiana, attending Central HS. She worked as an usher at the Rialto Theater. She made a few trips back home, at least once with Bob Hope for the dedication of the city's Memorial Coliseum.

threw a curveball, for me there, at the end. I went for a possible secret child. not realising the end was nigh. boy was I wrong.. another Marilyn in Hollywood. A destiny unfulfilled and becoming a distant memory, slowly fading out, just like those great old B&W photos.

I liked The Lemon Drop Kid. Frankly, I watched all those old Bob Hope movies, with my dad, growing up and when they came around recently there were very few that stand up well. (The Lemon Drop Kid, Road to Morocco and The Princess & the Pirate are few that I still enjoy.)

How weird, not only to be a pallbearer for a woman you had an affair with, but to know that another pallbearer also had an affair with her.
By the way, I never heard of this woman. I suspect her lack of charisma had a lot to do with her never truly becoming a star. Marilyn Monroe sparkled with charisma.

Super interesting story. I’d never heard of her. Silver bells is one of my fave xmas songs. Side note, how is frank sinatra involved in so many of these classic hollywood stories? he was an obvious slimey scumbag and looked like a keibler elf. I dont understand why so many associated with him

Yep! I was just was thinking B,C-list. Hapless fans of movies had to endure many movie entertainers, that were barely talented, or otherwise qualified. Marilyn Maxwell was certainly no raving beauty, and was not so empty, that she could sell all of her soul to the diabolical studio heads, like Marilyn Monroe. However, that being said, compared to today’s Hollywood offerings, even the B, C films of previous eras are more watchable. Bob Hope was ubiquitous and had a wide appeal off screen, still, he never rose above a B, C performance status in movies. His pal Bing Crosby? A-list all the way..
