The v8 is from an American truck (F150) It probably had more in common with the 2jz in the worst way possible.... oh and why do race cars not have abs or traction control, because people that actually race them know about pedal control...
The F150 in America had either SOHC 5.4 2V or 5.4 3V depending on what generation. The Lincoln Navigator and Lincoln short lived Blackwood was equipped with the DOHC 5.4 4V.
I think this is a common misconception pushed by people that have not driven one, mine is far from slow & definitely pushes hard enough to leave the majority in its dust

I've seen this blue XY close up. It's better than new. Impossible to find an imperfection on it. The restorer did an incredible job.

The block is based off the truck engine, that's where the similarities end..
These engines have alot of flaws.Also they are very slow for what they are.
I have one and i love it.Slow it's not.
