I love adding this series, but I really feel that it needs another personality. Just like the football vids have coach adding hype and expertise, I think Dee needs another person to step in with him here. Someone who's in the culture and can play off of Dee during the videos while also adding some high level commentary.

Dee himself is good but he can't really offer the insight and expertise like someone actually in the field can. Having someone really into the sport give their little 5 second breakdown like couch does often adds another layer of entertainment to the video.

Love the vid. One suggestion I would have that I feel would improve the video/ scoring is don’t count saves as a point to either person. Whoever the defender is already has a large advantage to win as he gets to defend an extra time. So basically whoever the defender is first wins most of the matchups how it is currently scored.
Also someone mentioned bringing in a soccer figure, amazing idea. You can probably get a lot of MLS players with your reach but I’d aim for a European/South American player. If you do the vid in England you can get some prem guys for sure.

I think in the rounds as well, before they get a wristband there should be no keeper. Whoever scores gets a point. Defense gets a point for a missed shot or kicked away shot. And in the final round all the players vs the 1 keeper.

One thing I would add to increase goals, I would think , is :
-Start on the 25 yard line while making the initial pass from the 0-5 yard line
This would add shooting from distance and watching some bangers if not closed down quick enough (increase defense intensity) + It gives the attacking player more of a running start to begin the 1v1
-give the attacking player the option to start from an angle.

they need better players. People who play football can score with thats space and a full size goal. What will help is giving points for some dribles, a nutmeg equals a goal? i think thats creates another layer for the 1on1

I don’t think the defense should get a point if the goalie stops the play, either. You can even tally the goalies stops to add up bread for them if you chose to. A 2-2 split ending in a goalie block feels empty.

The keeper gave defense a big boost. But then again... some people were shooting right AT him.
And the fac that kids were crowding the space. He needs little cones. Make the width the penalty box. And have the offense start further back. Give them more space to maneuver.

It was fine. We used to play in really tight areas on cement and still pass each other without dropping someone. Soccer players can play on anything in anywhere. Never blame the environment

I think it might be wise to give them more space, like the entire 18 yard box plus a bit more above, because its really easy for the goalie to close down the angle with how little space they have once they get through the defender

also I think the Best of 3 should have to end on a goal, not a defensive stop, it seems kind of unfair for the offense as it currently is
for example if both are 2-2 and there's a stop, they have to keep switching until one scores.

I love these vids! The 1v1s are awesome, but it would be next level to see you do a World Cup competition too. Up to 10 people on the field at once, one ball, gotta yell out your country before you shoot. Players sit out until the next round if they score and the last player in who doesn’t score is out. Real ones know this was the best game at the end of practice!

I see everyone’s point but from a entertainment perspective, having a defender and a goalkeeper makes it that much better. Not everyone comes to just see goals, there are people who want to see saves and good defense. What makes soccer enjoyable is seeing someone create an opportunity despite how difficult it may be. I’ve played soccer in college and the best parts about 1v1 is the fact that even if you beat your man, the goalkeeper is still someone you have to get past. Dee is doing a great job with this and I don’t see much that needs to be changed.
You can still have a goalie, but the defender shouldn’t get a point for a goalie making the save. The defender should only get a point if they knocked the ball away.

Series is tight, but you might want to try a small net with no keeper. Defense is still too strong when they're trying to 1v2 a defender and a goalie, and I think opening things up with an open (but small) net would be more hype and encourage more offense and skill.

@LetsTokeandJoke In all football 1v1s, the quarterback is a 3rd party that is involved in whether the receiver can make a catch on a good ball or not. Same as the goalie, where the goalkeeper will block and miss some, the quarterback will throw some good balls and bad balls for their receiver. Of course this is just a 1v1 setting. On other sports, you are right.

i think if you miss the shot no one gets a point but if the defender blocks it or slide tackles or takes the ball away then the defender gets a point
It should be no point if the defender gets beaten easily. Part of defending is closing down the angles enough to where the shot is an easy save. Some of these defenders got rinsed and got saved by the keeper which is different
Love these videos dee and I mean no disrespect in this comment but a pugg goal is a small soccer goal that I think would make the series more fun. If u used one of these instead of a real goal with a keeper the 1’s would be more fair because it would be a 1v1 as opposed to a 1v2. As a soccer player it is definitely hard to have a defender and a goalie to go against in a 20 yard space.
