Apologies if I didnt mention in the video, then I was unable to locate a sticker. I'd be surprised if it was less than 300lbs but I don't have verification of that right now Local team members could dive into it for you!
I have a Crossroads Volante 28BH, so same floorplan but with a sofa. I pull it with my F150 no problem. I have a friend with this exact camper (which is why I went looking for something similar but with a sofa), and he pulls it with his Expedition with a 3.5 Ecoboost. He also adds a bike rack loaded with bikes to the back hitch of his Winnie, and he has no problem pulling it. So I would say for most half tons it is no problem to pull this trailer. Just make sure you check your specific GVW. In my case being a crew cab 5.0 F150 with poor 3.31 gears, I had the dealer fill the fresh tank and let me take it to a nearby CAT scale to verify every axle was not overloaded or even close.
This is probably my favorite but because it's a Winnebago, they're proud of their stuff and charge accordingly. I'm already residing in a 2011 Puma 21RBS and wish I could turn it into something like this but that would take some doing. Removing the knee knocker posts with their housing cones and table was probably the best thing I could've done with the place. Also, that silly sponge drawer in front of the sink has been flipped over and is now used for additional counter prep space when needed. Depending on where it's parked, with the rear booty door, I'd turn that into a back deck access area with a canopy and chairs.
I'm really not a fan of the post-style dining legs except if it's a step-up slide. While it's not fun bumping my legs around them it IS better than accidentally sliding the table off a slide and dumping everything
Very nice! Winnebago always impresses. I LOVE that the bathroom door is fitted properly, instead of the typical peek-a-boo I smell you door. A couple little tweaks I’d like to see. As you mentioned, a free standing table for the dinette would be helpful, and I’d appreciate a countertop extension for the kitchen. Like I said, little things. Overall, quite nice.
Hey Uncle Josh I hope you're having a great day? I really like this Winnebago Minnie2301 BHS. I do wish that they could shorten the cabinets under the TV so you could put an electric fireplace space heater in it. I'm not sure what I would have put into the slide-out? I like the big u-shaped dinette but I also like the tri-fold sofa an the theater seats. That would be a hard decision to make!the space is nice. I like the whole interior setup. Can you get a oven along with the 3 burner cook top? Your number one fan Leonard Nelson from North Carolina. #NerdHerd!!!
Love that they are using plywood floor decking instead of OSB which I have seen recently. I wish they had a PVC roof. I do prefer the spray port at the rear vs a sink in the kitchen.
I don't mind the fridge and pantry in the slide... I just wish they would move them forward and put a bit of outside storage on the back. I also wish more brands would add the flip up counter extension for when a little more counter space is needed. That bedroom door is huge so it could be done carefully.
I was pretty leary of a fridge in a slide when it's propane, because the gas line has to move. But this trailer looks like a DC fridge so it would only be a wire that has to move. I looked at similar floorplans before I bought my current trailer, and I really appreciate your "road mode" segments.
Josh, what I have been told about refers in slides is not the weight issue, but the lack of insulation in the slide compared to the walls. You refer will run hotter in the slide. Is this true ?
Without question. Slide boxes are not and cannot be insulated quite as well as the main body of the RV. They're physically just not as thick. However, it's become FAR less of an issue with active compressor fridges coming into the market like 12v and residential fridges. The old 2-way fridges cooled more slowly and struggled a lot more when mounted in a slide & exposed to sun.
Hey Uncle Josh I was wondering why they don't give the upper bunk alittle more space between the bunk an the ceiling? They could lower the bottom bunk 6 to 8 inches then lower the top bunk 6 inches so the person on the top bunk has alittle more space. I do like the cargo door on the back. I forgot to put that in my first post. Your number one fan an friend Leonard Nelson from North Carolina. #NERDHERD!!!!!!!!
The floorplan at the beginning of the video shows that not only is a tri-fold sofa an option, but so is theatre seating. We don't want regular-viewer-Steve's head to explode after all! I'm not sure if the theater seating comes with the sofa table that is included with the tri-fold sofa. That would be good to know. The sofa might be the best option for snoozing during overnight stops when the bedroom isn't available and the kids are in the bunks. I'd be ok with theatre seats for a nap on the road, myself. Though at 5'2.5" I'd be ok with the converted dinette. My long-legged husband would be SOL w/ the dinette though. Also: I recently thought of what I would do to max the area in a "walk-in-pantrytainment" closet. I've always wondered what I would do with the space you need to move through to get to the back. How do you move everything at once? I think I would find a coat/hat rack on wheels to personalize for my use. Hang up a mop, broom, etc. in a way that can be easily moved if you need to get behind it all. Not sure how well it would work, but all that space counts! It's worth a shot IMHO.
Working on renovating an old Mallard Sprinter my grandma had so I can move out! Probably gonna turn it into a trailer, because the Chevy van it's built on has a lot of problems and the fuel mileage is so bad it's not worth fixing. Might turn the cab into an office after that.
I have the 2022 model year of this and we love it. I’m surprised they got rid the outdoor camp kitchen sink for the current year model. Mine has the griddle, fridge and a sink. It definitely saves on trips inside the camper. I do like the redesigned bunk are with the built-in curtains and ladder. Mine has neither. And you made a great point with the TV/dinette seating. I have the theater seating and it come with a swiveling table. I wouldn’t like the dinette.
I'm guessing people who are worried about a hundred pounds or so in the fridge and pantry aren't considering just how much *they* weigh. A four-seat dinette could be a thousand pounds of svelte Americans - ones that can use the roof ladder, even. Edit: "Vidventure!"
When I first saw the dinette only floorplan😩😩😩but when you said that there is an “option” to replace that uncomfortable dinette with a comfortable sofa or theater seating😁😁😁
Walk-in pantry, A+++. Don't like the openness under the bed, just give me the one big trunk (bed boot if you want to be illiterative and borrow the English term for trunk). I need an oven, the combo unit is too small. With a theater seat and the 2 changes it would be tolerable. Shower height OK for me, hubs is 6'4". I'd probably use the lower bunk for storage, keep it locked in the 'acess' position and toss the pad onto the top bunk. Put extra bulk stuff like paper towels, TP, bedding, clothing, towels on the bunk side, use the taller open space for pop-up mesh laundry hampers, wastebasket (rather than in the pantry with the food), folding chairs for guests, etc. But, I've read some unflattering things about their quality, so I'd have to get one heck of a deal to consider one of these.
Yeah, I feel like manufacturers are trying to reinvent space under beds. As long as it has some some kind of struts for easy lift, I do personally prefer just the boring traditional footlocker box.
Two questions from this video 1) I know you’re big on swapping the knee knocker table to a collapsible portable table. Can those still be used for the bed conversion? 2) Is it possible to swap to the pull down shades as a DIY? We currently have the plastic blinds and I hate them.

Can anyone answer a question for me I’m new to owning a trailer. I have a Riverside retro 135 trailer. Bought it from a lady who only used it one time and said she’s not a camping person. I’m trying to figure out how the hot water and the heater works. Do they both work on propane? Or do they only work with electricity? I went to Utah this last week and almost froze our butt off. Because I couldn’t figure out how to turn the heater on. Can anybody help out here?
Without seeing what you have I'm not able to provide a specific answer.
