    Roller hockey is so insanely fun. There are way more goals scored in roller hockey compared to ice hockey its just funny. Satisfying off season sport to play.

      so fun for players, literal hell for goalies. Any deke or passing play is basically a guaranteed goal without being able to move laterally

      @@Skynexstar yea, but its actually a lot harder to sidestep on rollerskates. Youre stuck with the flow a lot more. The easiest ways to score are back door passes. The goalies can never get across.

      i hate the lack of a blue line. cherry pickers make it obnoxious. that and playing with a ball sucks and pucks don't move with the ease of effort that they do on ice.

      @@npittman82 huh?? Youre playing roller hockey with a ball? We are using the typical orange puck with those slider pads on them. The thing is so fun to shoot.
      Plus you just gotta have one guy back with the cherry picker. I kinda like the lack of lines. You can literally sauce it all the way back to your defender and barely go anywhere and he can send it back to you. I just liked how it was a bit more wild than ice hockey

      @@qiranwang Nah its pretty different with inline, the teams they're playing against consists mainly of older guys, some of who have actually coached bedard, they're smart/stronger and know how to shut people down, even people like bedard. A lot of players that have played inline for team canada n all that, and all of them have played some level of junior a, junior b, ncaa in ice etc. Kent johnson was on that team n he got 40 points last year in the nhl as a rookie and this goal ruclips.net/video/FJCHkD75xkw/видео.html I highly doubt he'll be a bust, n I don't really have to say anything about bedard lol

    unfortunately there nowhere to play roller hockey in the Westend in Vancouver. They use to have it @ WestEnd community center but they only have floor hockey and so does Round House.

    Any roller hockey players can answer this question before I die. How do you guys stop in roller? Is it similar to ice? I have a tremendous amount of speed on ice, but I have no idea how to stop in roller hockey. I’ve played in one game and I thought my ankles were going to break.

      You can hockey stop on inline skates. Its basically the same principle as a hockey stop on ice skates (going from slip to grip in a controlled way) but much harder because the friction is different. I really suck at it, so I end up using real quick turns or even a slight "pizza slice" to stop or slow down. However there are guys in my league who make it look like they are on ice with how well they do it.

      im the complete opposite, very little ice experience, but played roller my whole life. you basically let you lead foot do all the work, and put 90% of your weight on that one, and basically only enough weight on the following foot to keep your balance. if you attempt to stop with both feet (most of the time) youll just slide out. that being said, i cant stop on ice to save my life. lol. im used to the wheels sliding a little (even with top of the line wheels), where i feel like my blades just bite into the ice super hard.

    Is there no ice rinks there? WHY would a #1 draft pick risk injury playing league roller hockey? I remeber when Ron Gant of the Atlanta Braves broke hismleg riding his motorcycle in season despite it being in his contract he couldnt.
    Just seems an unneccesry rick for him.

      Because he loves it! It's a great sport n he's been playing since he was 6, he was on my friends lil brothers team about a million years ago, still remember my buddy saying there's this kid on his brother's team who got moved up a level and was still the best in the div. Been following his career for a hot min haha. As for injury risk, there is none. I've been playing inline in literally the same league all my life n I've never seen anyone get seriously injured, nothing to worry about there

    I never liked roller blades, just aggressive in lines. They are heavier and the wheels are smaller.
    I always felt awkward wearing inlines, and I never skated as well with them. 😢
    Even on quad skates, I would jump over the kids who fell down because I was hauling ass.
    I'm not entirely sure what it is because it's a completely different dynamic, but the only skates I'm comfortable in.
    I'm like loppy and awkward any time I placed on rollerblades and fell a lot. They are bulk af but not in a good way for me.

    Overhyped. DIdn't mind the hockey highlights. Keep lacrosse and roller hockey in the bowling and soccer area. Enough already Bedard, go fishing or golfing, too much on the skates proven to be bad long term.

      @@SirrJDubs He was drafted for his hockey instincts, shot power and accuracy. Not a athletic monster. Dude is just always in the right spot and creates opening for his teammates. I expect him to get faster and put on muscle in the NHL though.

    I skeptical he’ll be a star in the NHL. So much can happen. He will be played much harder than ever before by men much bigger than before. Far superior players will be looking for him. He will be hit hard. He will be hit often. Will get blindsided by guys like Tom the machine Wilson, Reaves, Ovechkin etc. These grown men can steam roll him into a quick first concussion. Let’s see what happens this first season.
