This was really helpful. many other videos on the topic left me confused but this simply delivers the concept in an easy to understand manner. Thank you.
You introduced this video by saying that this is "everything you need to know about steam engines in under four minutes." I am studying for a degree in mechanical engineering. Looking at my exam results, it was not everything I needed to know. My professor suggested I need to spend more than 4 minutes on the topic.
The imagery is better than other RUclips channels. But, isn't there a step where cold water douses the steam to create a VACUUM, as part of moving the piston?
i have an idea. so you take a syphon with a tube and put a turbine it it right so then in the lower pool you need some way to get the water to boil and go back up to the upper pool. you could potentially use the sun to heat the water if you can figure out how to make power every possible way you can and get it to go in a loop without spending money on "fuel" so the day time would be the best time but at night you could drain the pool that you had filling up all day long.
Now this is what I'm looking for, simple and vivid imagery of the topic. It's such an elegant video itself, thank you kind sirs and madams.
Glad it was helpful!
you did a great job of explaining it. ive seen other vids on how a steam engine runs and they always leave me confused. kudos for dumbing it down!
Was JUST about to write the exact same thing!
@@SirSmokeAlot8866 me too
This video is genius. Simple, smart and to the point. Well done and I want to see more.
man, it's rare that you find an animation-based explanation of mechanical devices that's even good, let alone literal perfection
Wow, thank you!

Lol... Bummer!
You're studying a modern mechanical engineering degree and you sat an exam on steam engines?
Very good. Of the best to understand the operation of the valves in the steam engines.
Really, a very nice and well explained video .
Nice animation....superb....clearly understood that how a steam engine works

Except on a locomotive steam engine the two engines are cranked 90 degrees off to get through the dead zone.
Thank you fiddy...i needed to hear that
Thanks, your explanation made sense to me.
I couldn't understand from the other videos, but this one is very simple
This is the best explanation. Subscribed. Keep up the good work.
The best one so far....THANK you.
Awesome dude please continue

Thank you!
the air movement inside the chamber not visible well
Can it core a apple?
Thank You Sir. Very Good.
So is there power on each piston stroke?
Yes, the piston is powered in both directions!
How do they get by without lubrication?
thank u
Great video!
Where's the fly wheel on a locomotive?
are you canadian? I feel like you're canadian.
I am. Canadian. :) ABONG Inc. manufactures all of our kits at our factory in Guelph, ON.
who are you?
@@hyperdragon1013 He's a hoser eh?
now I can make the fully working Brown's steam engine
Could I get the 3d model ?
Thanks for your interest! Because we created this model from our wooden steam engine kit, I am unable to release the digital model.
Nice 👌
fianally. the one i can actually understand.
How dis redy
now heat the steam next to volcano n make a steam generator
A Canadian.
I wish you have 9999k likes and sub :)
Watching this in shop class. Pretty boring in my opinion😔But great video, don’t mind my school temper tantrums❤️
