Steven Dookie's voice is so warming he really makes you feel like he is polites, and he's really telling you to greet the world with open arms cuz he does it every day yk? It has honestly been the biggest motivator for me the past couple of days and has made me have the best days I've had in a while

I just listened to the song in full today 😄 Admittedly my first reaction when I heard how upbeat, chill, and cheerful the music at the beginning was “oh my gosh this is the one about the lotuses isn’t it- ODYSSEUS DON’T EAT THE FLOWERS!” but after listening to it a few more times I thought “Polites genuinely wants to help Odysseus get a break after fighting in a long war and learn how to trust again, that’s so sweet. But I’m also still worried 😅” because I then had two interpretations of the song’s ending 😅: one where Odysseus eats a lotus offered to him either by Polites or one of the lotus eaters, and the other where he’s able to relax at the end without eating a lotus. Overall i really love how this song sounds and have been listening to it on loop since I came home from school 😆 Extra: i actually thought that Polites was under the influence of the lotus flower at the beginning already in this song at first (like maybe he and Odysseus split up, then Polites met the lotus eaters, ate a lotus, and then introduced them to Odysseus.), but now that I think about it again, he and Odysseus probably met the lotus eaters at the same time without eating any lotuses, which meant he really wasn’t at all hostile when meeting them and was ready to trust them, compared to Odysseus, who did become hostile.

Very seldom have I thought of getting a tattoo, but this song really makes me want to get either “This life is amazing when you greet it with open arms” or “Greet the world with open arms” because (1) This is such a fun song and Steven’s voice makes it so happy (2) the message is so optimistic and wholesome
oh i cant wait for this musical to come to the stage. i wish i had a good singing voice so i could audition but alas. ill just have to be content with watching this awesomeness unfold

Im pretty sure all/most animators make it that way for all the characters. That's why in most animations Odysseus looks like Jay est.
