- The 2024 Lexus GX 550 is one of the most exciting debuts from Lexus, and David Chao is in Arizona to drive all of the GX vehicles. Driving impressions are embargoed until Feb 1st, but in the mean time, let's talk about which trim/color you might like... and also let's help David finalize which version he should buy.

No saddle interior available for the OT is a major oversight.
The green is most elegant with the saddle interior. Beyond that. Real Sliders and simple black wheels. Not 22" bright wheels. Would give it more offroad cred.

Lexus really hit a home run with the new GX. Great variety and the Overtrail Plus would be my first and Luxury Plus second.👍🏼

I like the white with the brown interior
Well it’s my favorite also. In the summers it deflects the heat of the sunshine ☀️ the best. The tan interior does also a good job of keeping the interior more comfortable. We have that color combination in our S.U.V a Volvo XC90 and it’s able to withstand the Florida sunshine and heat being left outside all year. Our other cars can not. Especially our Black on Black cars. They are rolling ovens. Never again!
I wish they had the white overtrail + on display.
I would prefer the Overtrail version because of its ruggedness and looks for this class.

I like the sandstone color, very 70s and retro, I like a bright interior also.
You absolutely need that Overtrail in Green/black
David, anyone of your choices is great. For me, I would like to have an Overtrail trim with Nebula Grey...but the U.S. Lexus build configurator doesn't list the grey as an available color for any trim. Maybe that will change in future but right now for myself, I will order an Overtrail with Atomic Silver. Also, I prefer the 18" wheels for any off road use.

Just get what you want. There's no need to settle especially if its a business expense.
David, I prefer the deep, deep blue of the Nightfall Mica. That is a colour that would not look out of place on a Century. 😉

Nori Green/Black interior, Overtrail +
Incognito Overtrail with saddle interior would be great but doesnt look like that color interior is available for overtrail so I would select the dark gray/black interior. Nori Green with saddle interior on a premium model would be very nice as well. Can't wait to see some drive reviews on these. Keep up the good work!

I vote for the Overtrail model in Nori Green with a black roof (selfishly, because this is the model I'm interested in for myself).

Why off road version always has exclusive color, but interior is black? I don't like black interior. Luxury trim is the one I hunt.
Well, tbf, I want Earth with saddle brown and no ugly green interior suede.
I'm really digging the GX 550. Thanks for going over all the colors and trims available at the Lexus event! I like the earth tone quite a bit... But I don't think the Overtrail trim is for me, I'm more of an urban warrior, I'm looking for something that's a small tank and eats potholes for breakfast. 💪

I'm in canada and I've put my deposit 3 days before the unveiling last summer. Hopefully i'll be getting one of the first ones at my dealership, who plans on receiving 2 units per month. However, i'm keeping my expectations low.
Overtrail Plus in atomic silver with black roof is a home run!
Nori green looks better David. Incognito looks dull.
Saw incognito at the O.C. Auto Show in So. California and thought it didn't really pop maybe since it was indoors. Have to see it again outdoors though. Saw a white one at San Diego Auto Show and was nice even indoors. I'm leaning towards Atomic Silver yet would rather see and compare other colors outdoors.
I'm planning to get basic premium with Eminent White Pearl with Saddle Tan interior with Overtrail wheels and tires whatever it cost. so 3 row seating with the overtrail looks. in December when my lease is up. hopefully by that time they would have plenty of practice making my first Lexus. So David I can't wait for your new ride GX 😉
I wish I could buy one. My local dealer has a 1+ year wait and has stopped taking deposits/adding names to wait list. Also plans to add $5K-$10K market adjustment to MSRP. Going to be quite some time before I get one.
I hope we do get options for this GX 550 here in British Columbia. I'm gonna get an Overtrail plus as well. I'm stuck between the Nori Green and Incognito. I honestly like the Caviar Black and Atomic Silver too but I think final will be between the Nori Green or Incognito. I have a done out 3rd Gen Tacoma and was gonna wait a bit longer for next vehicle but this is gonna be the last of the V8/V6 Twin Turbos so will have to buy a new one before it's too late. I will probably keep the Tacoma too for off roading and hunting trips etc. Any word on when the the last year will be for V6 Twin Turbo GX 550?
green and grey both good. would have said go for green because that grey is becoming quite common, but you've already had a car in the nori so it's still 50/50. the green accents on the interior helps the nori a bit. but grey is still looks very cool and possibly safer in crash prevention due to visibility. good luck with the tough decision!

Very helpful video, in making choices for your favorite GX 550… I love the white metallic pearl by for the best, especially in hot climates.. that’s my choice why exterior black interior very simple, elegant and it doesn’t matter if you’re enough extreme heat environment or a very cold environment. The color combination goes well with the sun if that makes any sense.🇯🇵🤍❤️🇨🇦

Not digging the two tone interior’s seems to class down. Agree on colors but kind of dig the white a lot.
Incognito is going to be easier to keep up with in an off-road version if for no other reason, but the light dusting it would get. Also the interior color is the best. 8:55
I hate the green accent on the overtrail
i like the premium but the 20" wheels are horrid looking and for some reason have silver/chrome running boards. WHY?

I noticed some models have the glossy B-pillar trims on the exterior doors. Is it only on the (+) models of the three trims?

Unfortunately, the incognito exterior cannot be combined with the tanning interior colour you liked in the video on the lexus website, only the black interior.
I thought that was the ugliest color you could get. It looks like the factory just applied the Primer on the vehicle then clear coated and that was it. So I bet it costs the factory less to make that color vehicle. The tan is the best interior color. Black interior you notice every little speck of dust. I have both tan and black interior colors and can’t stand the lack interior especially in the heat and sunshine. ☀️

I can't afford to buy a new Lexus any more. Prices are ridiculous! The next car I purchase will be an "off lease" Lexus. Akio Toyota was right. No need to jump into buying an EV. Until the battery technology and replacement process is perfected.

Very true it looks cheaper than the previous models interior. With a giant i pad stuck in the middle that will go crazy in 3 years and cost $8,000 for a new one.

Theres no way i would spend 80k on a lexus SUV. Idk, maybe it's me. But if an suv is 80k it better have some amazing interior quality and design. Even the landcruise is 55k, which is kinda wild to me. Everything is inflated
