Another interesting video. If you want to see an interesting range of cactus and other unusual plants......you need to pack a picnic lunch and travel to collector's corner in Breaside.
I really love your Thai. It really makes me beyond picky trying to find one for my collection. Those available in the us have been really poor by comparison.
Great vid. My running comments got wiped out somehow. Frog in a sock is my fav! Nice update on your plants! I agree on Thai prices. Ordered on this week. 8” pot for $100. Hope it has nice variegation. Gonna plant it with my monstera when I repot this spring. Love the large forms. Did you do a vid on your cabinet? Have to look at the list if I missed it.
Thanks for the plant update tour! The plants are all looking fantastic even if your cabinet went all cookie cutter shark on the Joepii. I'm so jelly over your Bunnings, I have 4 within an hr drive of and none are as well stocked as that! The red wings with a pattern piqued my interest, we have a lot of those here but I've never seen one like that! Love the new title art too Pete that's a corker. Please tell me you're thinking of launching some merch I need those on a shirt. 🤣
Hehe cheers, mate :D Thought it'd add a bit more to the channel. Gonna try and get an image of Peaches getting high as fuck eating a spider plant too lol
crazy, the hardware stores where i live in northern california (lowes, home depot) have such a limited plant selection compared to bunnings. interesting that australia has such strict import laws, but you have a way better big box store selection!
Yeah, I think the deal here is that Enliven have a partnership with Bunnings and during covid they imported shit loads of tissue culture rarer plants as the indoor plant craze exploded. And more stuff's coming out now even after the pandemic.
"Frog in a sock"! Heard you say this earlier this week and my wife and I laughed so hard. Now to see this! You should sell products with this on it, wife said she'd buy it 😂
Great vid Pete. Those ROF philos look tops! I wanted to ask for the name of the philo on the moss pole in the top left of the screen at around 12:13 into the video. Would you know the name of that one? I have one (found it in the garden when we bought the house) and haven't been able to find out what it's called! 😕
Hehe good eye! It's a cheap(ish) but rare one: Philodendron bernardopazii. Cost me about $100 AUD for 3 leaves, but it's the poor man's version of a P. spiritus sancti which is still like $5000 AUD per leaf in Aus.
Can't believe that first Bunnings. Just amazing! All my great loves just sitting there. I could feel my money leaving my wallet just looking at your vid. (My local store is like the second Bunnings, ...shit.)
I don’t think it’s dodgy to buy plants from a store and sell them online… especially where I live, our selection is awful so I search out plants online all the time. Love the cactus haul wow cool!!!
No kidding? Yeah, I think there was a single person/company here who took it to the next level during the pandemic. Enliven is what they're called. They partnered with Bunnings and only sell through them and that's where all the rare and interesting stuff comes from.
@Pete vs Plants Costa Farms is the nursery that provides a lot of commons to big box stores here, they release small amounts of semi rares to choice locations. I wish our cacti/succulent sections were more interesting 😕
If you buy one of those ugly red and yellow grafted cacti you can probably remove the graft and put one you like on top. At least you know the rootstock can support a graft
Ya know, people say to wrap newspaper or tin foil (thickly) around cactus, to relocate them; that's cumbersome & weird. And not spine-proof, really! Just handle the dangerous cacti with tongs, it's perfect! You can spend as much as you want on them, or as little. I had bought a few pairs from the dollar store, only to use for plants. All different sizes, too... but they only had the all metal ones. They're fine. Kind of sharp and flat-edged though, on succulent leaves. So I went ahead & got the $7.99 tongs - they're so great for plants. Plus it can make grabbing random things easier. Like gross or dead plants, or sketchy garden spots, where you can't quite see what's in there. 🫤😂 also helps when repotting cacti, use the tongs to position and hold in place while you add soil and stuff around the roots... ✌🏽
Hi Pete, I love your content, but the flickering of your grow lights is really difficult to watch as a photosensitive epileptic. I was wondering if you would be willing to put a warning at the beginning so people are aware that it could trigger them? Luckily for me I get enough time to be able to stop watching before a seizure is triggered but for some people it's fairly instant. I particularly noticed it first when you showed your anthurium cabinet, but the point that made me stop and comment was at the point you were showing your florida ghosts. I haven't watched any further. That half and half Thai is just stunning, btw, also I had no idea that Flo Beauty's existed that have the ghost variegation as their variegation that is just awesome and I need to find one lol
Oh my god, Cherri! I'm so sorry, mate. I had no idea. Will try to remember in the future. Just skip past the section of me showing the plants and I go outside and travel to Bunnings. Should be fine from then on.
YES!!!The bubblers are really working well for me. I need to see if I can find a splitter so I can have two hoses- two rooting jugs.
Another interesting video.

Oh man, I keep being told that. Definitely keen to!
@@petevsplants7516 well worth the trip......but tends to get expensive every time I visit 😂
Lol got a feeling that's the case...

Thanks, Michael! Yeah, it can be a mixed bag. Hold out and wait til you find a good one.

Hello, your half Moon thaï constellation is absolutely facinating ! 😍🤩🥰
Hehe cheers, mate. Yeah, had to grab it when I saw it was doing that.
🐸🧦
Thank you for the intro which was made specifically for me. 🤣🤣🤣
Really looking forward to seeing the progression of your cacti-grafting journey!!!
Haha I was totally waiting for your comment James haha Thanks for all the support and awesome comments!
Love my Florida, one of my favorite plants for sure.
:D awesome!
Interesting theory about temperature and color change in Florida Beauties.
Great video!
Cheers, mate :D What do you think about my theory?
Yay,roadtrip!!! Your new cacti are both beautiful and weird-love it.
Hehe cheers, Alice! Glad you enjoyed the episode :D Trying to work on my 'vibe' and jazzing things up.

Good scores Pete!! I’ll have to check out my Bunnings at Carrum Downs!!
Hehe check out the Bunnings group on Facebook. I keep seeing Carrum Downs being posted and they have great stuff, so go go go!
@@petevsplants7516 oh wow thanks for the tip!
Can you do a video of your soil you use for each type of plant?? I notice you have different soil per plant from other channels I am subscribed
Hey, mate. I'll try and do one soon then :D

@@petevsplants7516 Would you mind if I DM some pics of my plant to confirm if it's the same? I'm cool if you don't do that...
Yeah go for it.
Can't believe that first Bunnings. Just amazing! All my great loves just sitting there.
I could feel my money leaving my wallet just looking at your vid.
(My local store is like the second Bunnings, ...shit.)
Haha yeah, I try to avoid that Bunnings on the regular as a result of that...
The blue candle cacti is suppose to be great for grafting cause it's fast growing and less stabby.
hehe winner :D
You can buy dragonfruit plant and grow them larger and Bunnings normally has them
Yeah, I have to find one. They're so small here, though, maybe I need to grow out one of them and split up all the babies.
I don’t think it’s dodgy to buy plants from a store and sell them online… especially where I live, our selection is awful so I search out plants online all the time. Love the cactus haul wow cool!!!

Your bunnings is way more stocked with indoor plants than ours here in NZ we only have about 2 or 3 of those shelving things
I think the Waurn Ponds one is so stocked because the population is huge nearby so they move so much stock constantly.
I forgot australians drive on the left, git a bit of a heart attack when you entered that roundabout
haha
MAN I wish Bunnings would come to the USA
Hehe
That white cabinet is that an Ikea one ?
Yep, it's a Milsbo.
When u live in the us and start to panic worried about Pete driving on the wrong side of the road like a moron
lol you guys finally get a taste of your own medicine.
38:01 looks like shrecks ears
hahaha true
Omg your on the wrong side of road 🛣️
Lol it's okay, everyone is!
@@petevsplants7516 lol.
Your bunnings has got heaps better plants than mine, and your two inch pots, the plants are four or five times as big as we get here.
Damn :( Whereabouts is your Bunnings located? It is interesting how they vary so much.
Im in too cactus to you should get a euphorbia lactea white ghost is gorgeusss i had mine i call him Casper 😁
Haha don't tempt me, mate :D
Wow, what a selection for a big box/hardware store(I think?)! Home Depot/Lowe's in the U.S. are pretty boring in comparison

I would be poor if I had a Bunninga near me! Our Lowes n Home Depot have nothing but dead plants all the time! It’s terrible

Ah I've heard of Costa Farms. There was a whole debacle with them and the Thai Cons in TC right?
If you buy one of those ugly red and yellow grafted cacti you can probably remove the graft and put one you like on top. At least you know the rootstock can support a graft
Yeah, I think you're 100% right. I just feel like it's too expensive for buying dragon fruit cactus haha
