I grew up with Wally, but as soon as I picked up a Barry Allen flash book, I connected instantly. He is my favourite.
I like the Flash, but his villains have some silly names/powers/costumes. "Captain Boomerang"? Come on...
There's the catch, Flash's villains have silly names, but the Rogues are awesome to read, one of the more brutal teams when they need to be; go check a mini called "Final Crisis: Rogues' Revenge," badass.

As you seen in CW flash series they have reavealed that when his mother got killed on that night barry was there and witnness his mother death. How he got there well, the flash is fast enough to go back in time when the reverse flash tried to kill barry as an 11 year old child but barry had followed him trying to stop the reverse flash plan of killing barry as 11 years old but then had failed and killed his mother. Then when barry was 11 years old he had seen 2 speedster 1 the reverse flash and barry. They both speedster blood had been spilt on the wall cisco and iris dad went to investigate and they match the blood it was barry but couldnt find out who the reverse flash was because it didnt match in the database

The flash is one of my favorite superheroes and I didn't know anything well I knew some of his origin but this was very helpful thanks arris for making this video!
'History' refers to the past....but he spends most of the time talking about stuff from the last few years. Flash Comics hit newsstands in November 1939, and ran continuously until the 50's. He's misleading when he says All Flash only lasted 32 issues, because The Flash was in other comics at the same time, going into the early 50's. Then superheroes died out....but The Flash was the first hero brought back in Showcase issue #4, which is considered the first comic of the Silver Age. His success is what brought the other heroes back. Other notable Flash stories are: Flash was the first chairman of The Justice Society, and the first mention of alternate worlds, Earth 1 and Earth 2, was in Flash comics.

I'm thinking for cw's the flash, Barry Allen will die to make it an dramatic and emotional finale when the show finally ends. It'll be sad but since it'll be when the show finally ends, that wouldn't b a problem. they may probably also just provide a few scenes of the new kid flash being born then leave the viewers to imagine everything else..

Wally will always be my favorite mainly because he was the Flash I was introduced to.
I don't get why people say the Flash doesn't have super strength. It's simple physics: KE (kinetic energy) = 1/2mv^2 (one half times mass times velocity squared). Flash can move at the speed of light (299,792,458 m/s). Fist size for a 88 kg (195 lb) man is about .5 kg. Plug everything in the formula, the amount of KE his fist would have is 22,816,024,000,000,000 joules (22 quadrillion). To put it in perspective, a nuclear blast has about a quadrillion joules of energy, 21 quadrillion less than the Flash's punch.So, if Barry punched you with full force, he would basically destroy 22 cities.

In 2011, DC rebooted all their comic series and called it the New 52. It's a another universe called Earth 3. Because it's another universe, costumes, origins, characters, etc. are all different.
Jack Reed That's incorrect buddy. The New 52 is what happened after the events of Flashpoint, where The Flash altered the timeline, making him responsible for all the new origins. Earth 3 is an alternate Earth where an evil version of the Justice League exists known as the Crime Syndicate.

My favorite flash is either Impulse AKA Bart Allen or Kid Flash /The Flash AKA Wally West but, unfotunently he dies in one of my favorite tv shows
because Impulse had bassicly killed him because his time mahine broke and he had Wally stay and fix it, while He and The Flash went on a mission, and when Wally was done he went on the mission with them, when Wally got there he died because he wasn't fast enough and he turned into smoke, when his girlfreind found out she was bawling her eyes out.
I prefer wally just in my opinion.

I actually don't ever want him to die XD even though I know eventually he will have to be killed off. And when that happens I'll go hide in my closet and cry myself to sleep. Ignore that last part...
I don't get why people like Barry, frankly. He's just not a very interesting character, and the only times he is are the times where Wally's personality is transplanted onto him. Not only that, but a lot of what made Wally such a good character was the absence of Barry and learning to live up to his legacy. Now that Barry's back, Wally is kinda useless, which is why he's barely even in the comics right now.

Who's the fastest flash
I may be very, very wrong but I think Bart Allen, at least when he absorbed the Speed Force. In current comics continuity, I would guess at Barry Allen. If it helps, I know the slowest Flash is Jay Garrick.

Bart can be the fastest eventually, but Wally, I'd say, is the fastest. For years yes it was Barry but only because Wally idolized Barry so much that he mentally blocked himself from ever going faster than Barry. But once Barry died Wally ended up being WAY faster. Eventually Bart will probably surpass Wally because he is already incredibly fast and still a kid. Also yes Jay Garrick is the slowest :P
yeah Bart would be the fastest due to him not getting the powers in the way wally and Barry did since he is the descendant of Barry, therefore making his powers more of a genetic thing that will get more powerful as he matures.

Not canon. Kid Flash has never died in comics, but Wally as Flash disappeared during Infinite Crisis. He returned later, though, with his family.

I really liked the show, but one very good VERY underrated Flash comic is "Secret Origins" annual #2 ( I believe it was from the 80's maybe the 70's, definitely after Barry Allen died.). One story had Wally West (my favorite Flash) talking to his therapist about his worries living up to Allen's donning of the Flash, THE BEST BARRY ALLEN STORY EVER in which it re-tells his origin, but gives him a romantic antagonist for Iris West's affections, introduces some really cool aspects of him.
Crappy video. Do you know why nobody sees Flash move? He moves too fast. Do you know why anybody understood you? You speak too fast. You don't need to be a pilot to speak about planes. Equally, you don't need to speak so fast to talk about Flash.

Bart was killed by Weather Wizard,Trickster,Captain Cold, and Mirror Master. He was stripped of his powers and they basically jumped him. Wally West is my favorite.
Bart's death wasn't as emotional as it should have been. I wasn't sad by the end, like I was with Barry. Wally is definitely the best written Flash, though.

Flashpoint was so amazing. It's absolutely worth the money to get not only the main series, but all 5 of the "World of Flashpoint" Trade Paperbacks. It's also not a bad idea to get The Flash: Rebirth and The Flash vol. 1 and 2 from right after, which built from Barry's return directly into the Flashpoint paradox.
One of my favourite episodes of young justice is bloodlines s2e6 because it is very flash- centric

Good list, but I had hoped to learn more about his (their) powers, their limitations; which Flash was the fastest one, and how fast can he actually move? What are some of his greatest/most epic feats? I never read comics growing up, but I've recently (finally) gotten my eyes opened to the Justice League and Flash has become my favorite hero!
Glad you mentioned all that. I didn't know much about the comics when I was a kid but when I first saw JLU I remember thinking "Why the hell is green lantern black and who is hawkgirl?"

Have you guys done a History of John Constantine vid? He's definitely one of the more interesting members of the DC/Vertigo-verse, and he's like the epitome of anti-heroes. I'd love to see a vid on him, because he really needs some exposure, even if his Vertigo issues are over.
From Justice League(or any variation) you will only see a glimpse about him(or what he can do). What happens in the comics is too epic for animation.
Did you really miss the part in the comics when Wally was fighting Zoom and it was revealed that Wally was subconsciously holding himself back so that he could not pass his mentor? When he overcame that mental block, it explicitly states that he surpassed Barry and gained powers that he didn't have, such has super healing, kinetic upgraded attacks and exploding objects that he phases through. Only Barry and Wally have outran death. Read up more, Wally beats out all Flashes in feats.

The Flash is my favorite out of anybody, also i'm not sure you know or not but there's a show showed on CW44 called The Flash, the story's about Barry (I hope that's how you spell it) Allen and how his mother was murdered by another flash type man, I think it's professor zoom with the red eye's and yellow suit, but anyways its really cool by the its not a cartoon version but I'm pretty sure you'll enjoy it, forgot to mention its shown on Tuesdays at 8:00 pm

Oh, and please - a simplified explanation of what the Speed Force is, how it works for our Flashes, and why the Flash (Wally West) can't run at his full potential because of the Speed Force (it would suck him in?) in Justice League Unlimited. I'm really eager to learn more - but catching up on 70 years worth of comics with dozens of reboots/reincarnations for 20+ heroes is very very intimidating =(
The first Flash in the comics was Flash Gordon who appeared in King Features comic strips in Jan. 1934, He also traveled faster than the speed of light in a space ship. He encountered various characters including Hawkmen. Flash comics #1 in 1940 introduced Jay Garrick Flash and also their Version of Hawkman in a story, so were not original in there idea, but copying ideas that already existed. Jay as Flash also wore a winged Helmet that was inspired by Mercury the roman messenger of the gods in mythology. Flash Gordon also encountered shark men, lion men, etc. so various characters with powers before the Justice society.
