You can easily make map in excel by clicking on map option.
For Bigger counties its true like US and etc, but for regional maps, Excel doesnt helps much and is very boring too look at.
The colour range is not editable how can you edit
You can choose your own custom color range. Ones provided online may have limitations, so you can define your own ranges based on needs.

Very good attempt but it takes lots of time. It can easily be done in other software in just a minute.
