Bill Kennedy is a great guy and they make great machines. The SF10 looks like a sweet setup which will make you some serious cash! Good luck! And yes a book store needs an espresso/coffee bar😊
Hey Rob, Glad to see a new video. And you're right John Cavalier is a great guy, I've known him for years. My daughter in law used to work at the bookstore.
Real glad to hear your back Rob! Have you considered private funding? Next year I'm going to be raising funds to buy an Artisan 3e. I'm going to need financial help. I'll be reaching out to people whom I know that may be able to contribute. I will have my profit and loss data and a data showing that I have increasing levels of customer demand, & increasing profitability. Really looking forward to more vids. And the Roest? Woah! INCREDIBLE tech inside.
I had a backer for the building. Raised $165k but in the end the bank didn’t want to invest in an old building and take the restoration risk. Problem is that much funding only makes sense on a big project and I got to a point where I felt I was wasting everyone’s time. Lol. So, I probably will try again later down the road. This was a huge education in business for me though. Still thinking through it all. Those 3e roasters look nice! Excited for you on that!
Welcome back boss. I have commented under another channel in the past but I found you in nosmallcreator. Glad to see youre back at it and I just enjoy your personality so im looking forward to the content. I think I may have mentioned that I was from New Orleans, I live up north now though.
Thanks buddy! You still live in Louisiana or you talking about north north? Lol I need to get more involved with the NSC group again. I loved it back in the day but kind of drifted away from it. I truly appreciate you watching buddy!
I am looking at the San Fran SF10 or something in that size. My building couldn’t handle much more. And to be honest, I just want to sell enough to have fun, make videos, and play with good coffee. But, if I find $50k just lying on the ground, I may would go with the Loring S7. Lol
I’ve been watching you for a bit now. I do personal roast myself. Sorry about the space falling through but good luck on your new set up brother. I need to get myself a better upgraded roaster. I like hooking friends n fam up and I can only do 200grams at a time. Roast on brother! ☕️
Just purchased my first 5lb roaster, getting my business started and have been watching your channel hoping to see and miss some of the pitfalls you unfortunately had to go through
Bro we have faced the same reality. I've been around and around and finally came back to just roasting coffee and trying to get the money looking better on the books
Haha exactly man. Ya, that was an issue with me. I didn’t have a “proof of income” just yet. I think if I would of had that with my investors we could if pulled it off but so many pieces of the puzzle to make it work. Keep moving brother! We are going to make it work damnit! Haha
@@RobPirieCedarOtaCoffee For real bro. We know we got a good thing going and ain't gonna stop! For real though I told people that the irony is you need to look good on paper but if you really are chasing it you don't have income except the money from the coffee. Time for a season of works and making myself look better on the books I guess
Good luck with things! Property is expensive to get into in Canada, so I’ve had to delay plans and will probably do some out of my home for the time being.
Ya, it’s crazy expensive everywhere. This place was actually affordable but adding a commercial kitchen and bringing the historic building up to code just pushed the price of the buildout up so much. Starting from home is good. We are just going to back yard it until we figure it out! Haha
Ohhh dang. I’m not sure. I know if def depends on your location but once I finally complete it I will add up all my cost and see. I think for home hobby roasting not that much but a legit business that allows you to quit your job, more than people think.
what happed to the ikawa Roaster. I thought you liked that thing. Also some time slow growth is the best. Look at Proof Bread RUclips channel and book grow like a lobster.
I still have it. I’m going to be doing some comparison videos soon. I will def look up that book. I’m about a few days from needing a new one anyway! Haha
@@RobPirieCedarOtaCoffee I just got mine a little over a month ago. I really like it so far. What was the largest batch size you would run? I am currently practicing its 2.5lbs.
The largest I would do in my 2kg was four pounds and then I only worked with that weight. That made it easy to keep everything consistent. I think I would go with Mill City or San Franciscan. If I hit the Lottery, Loring, hands down! Haha
Every bookstore, especially one in such a beautiful, old building, should have a decent coffee corner!
Haha yes indeed! Completely agree!

Haha yes indeed! Bill does seem like a pretty cool guy! Truly appreciate the kind words and hope all has been well buddy!
book store is a WAY BETTER book store if it has a coffee bar!
Haha exactly! No coffee, no reading!

That’s cool to hear. Ya, he has always been supportive of me. It’s going to be nice to see what he does with the new space.
Props for the Children of the Cane shirt!
What coffee are you sipping on today? Let me know down below! I roasted a little Costa Rican and it’s bangin!
Dark blend of my own roast. Columbian Brazil Ethiopia Sumatra

@Rob, "tough times don't last but tough 'Rob' does."
Take care of your health too 🙌❤️😁
Haha thanks buddy! That is definitely something important to do! I have slipped on my running lately. Hope all has been well brother!
Hi, Rob. Keep the faith! You have the heart of an entrepreneur, so you'll make it happen. Reach out if you need anything.
Thanks so much for the kind words Bruce! I will def do so! Hope all has been well with you and life is treating you good!

I'd think a lot of people drifted. I don't go in there too often either.
Good luck rob!
