    Hair from Rex Heuermann’s wife Asa Ellerup was reportedly found on burlap used to wrap multiple female victims in Long Island, according to law enforcement sources. The Law&Crime Network’s Jesse Weber sits down with forensic DNA expert Tiffany Roy to analyze how her DNA could have gotten there and what it means for the case.

    A surviving victim went to the home and asa was there with rex they were swingers. Asa when her husband was first arrested and a reporter asked her about her husband being a serial killer said "it is what it is". Asas hairs were found on 3 of the victims but no1 elses in the house including pets. She lawyers up straight away, starts a gofundme, starts divorce proceedings but still goes to court to see her husband, signs a million dollar deal with peacock and a seperate undisclosed deal with 50 cents production company. Asa has never shown any sympathy towards the victims or the victims families. Imo she was complicit and involved at some degree and should be thoroughly investigated

    When this first came out, I tried to keep an open mind and after hearing how they lived like hoarders, messy, etc…it made sense more that the wives hair and dna could have been transferred. But it’s still strange that it was found one multiple bodies and its come out that she was aware of her husband’s activities…and participated in some…so nothing will surprise me with this case!

      One person’s “memory” of something that happened over 25 years ago does not make it a fact. That person could have been under the influence of drugs/alcohol at the time. That only proves she participated in swinger parties in the 1990s but the time period does not match the charges for murders in the late 2000s and 2010s. I commented about this on another post. And whilst yes, her DNA could be at crime scene/s because of transfer, in other cases, things like hair have been used to directly link a person to being present at scene when the crime took place. Take Lori Vallow for example (yes there was plenty of other evidence against her) the prosecution in that case argued that her hair, on a blanket from her house, under duct tape, placed her at the scene. They didn’t view it as transfer, which it very well could have been. I just find it interesting how different prosecutors argue the same point differently. They may well have looked into the wife and have not found any other evidence to say she is involved. And yes, I know how much hair us women shed, I’m not saying it’s impossible, just interesting.

    • @joshlampe3458
      @joshlampe3458 5 месяцев назад +18

      There would need to be supporting facts that indicate the DNA wasn't transferred, which could be anything. In the case of duct tape it's interesting because the sticky adhesive doesn't get exposed until it's unrolled, creating a 'snapshot in time' if you will. That's why it wasn't considered transfer in Lori's case.

I shed so much, my hair is on everything in our home, entwined in blankets, his socks, etc. during the wash, despite vacuuming constantly etc. Idk I think people saying the more hair there is the more likely she is to be involved are kind of missing the fact its more likely that it's just suggesting the items used definitely came from his house. making the assumption that she was involved seems like a stretch. wives of such deplorable serial killers often have no idea. they have a complete double life and do it well.

  • @hsk2909

    Too many holes to fill in in this story before geeting a clearer picture. It's all bits and pieces of whatever at the moment and it sure makes this family look like they had some strange behavior patterns.
    So, Rex was fishing for call girls on burner phones while his wife & kids were away. He picked up (?) his victims or they came with taxi to wherever, presumably. There, Rex had fun with them ( in the car?) (In the wild?) (in his house?) (In a motel?) WHERE?? where there was ALSO Asas hair on him? Asa went on a trip, remember, so, did Rex not change shirts in that time or did everything he wore have Asas hairs on it?
    How about this wild theory, he places Asas hairs in the burlaps/on the bodies, on PURPOSE? Because he reckoned that would throw spanners in the works if he got caught one day? What if it was Asa he was killing in his mind over and over? Something very odd was swirling around the head of this ogre so what i'm suggesting may not be so far fetched.
    I'm coming up with with a very hypothetical theory here that would NOT implicate Asa in any way ( a lot of people seem to get ever so upset about implicating Asa in any way ) , but at the end of the day the fact remains that - When the victims disappeared ( Asa was on her trips ((by coincidence?) is NOT necessarily the same dates as the victims actually died. None of us knows at this point how long he held his victims captive, and with that, nobody knows when Asa came back home..and may in such case as Rex keeping the women captives for a longer period of time, in his house for example, Asa may very well have returned home before anyone at all died. See what i mean?

      Yes, us women notice the smallest of changes in behavior of our husbands and partners, that much is true, but if other testimonies are accurate, Asa knew what her hubby was up to and she was up to it herself ( they were swingers ) , hence she may very well have known what ELSE her hubby was up to, and she didn't care, OR,..the worst possible scenario being, she was in to "that" too... ? This is all a big speculation pool at the moment.

    No doubt law & crime are going to try and make this sound more nefarious than it is. She was married to a serial killer and likely intimate with him frequently... So it's really not that surprising that her DNA would be on him which would then in turn end up on a victim. It takes literally nothing to transfer DNA between people, we all do it all day every day. If anything, this further proves his guilt.
