Wonderful classic gospel
I was raised on this gospel! This does it for me. Hits my spirit all the way down to my belly--God chamber. I sang gospel and had the unique experience to see so many of the great groups that are the legends that the new wavers stand on the shoulders of today.

AC did not say the slave owners or white supremacist gave them the songs to sing or that slaves were singing "for" their captors. The comment speaks to how the songs made the slaves feel when praising their God and the strength it gave them to get through the day. You see, they didn't have the option to just get mad and go around typing ignorant and misguided comments on a message board as if they were part of some movement. SMDH. Gospel at its finest! My Grandmother had the best record collections and I remember she’d put one on every morning while cooking breakfast and she’d begin shouting, running, and praising God and those are the best memories from my childhood. She was not only my Grandmother but my best friend and mentor. She used to say now this gospel is the cream and I’d say , The cream? She’d say yes that means it’s the best like the cream on top of the butter. 🙏❤️🙏

Wow this is cool. As a European white man i don't know much about gospel. But this is just fantastic. I hear James Brown, Elvis, hip hop music, CCR, Aretha Franklin, Bob Dylan,... this has so many influences on famous artists and even modern music.....
