I tested and it works on the switch version and most likely the PS4 version too, I used it to skip to insane mode before beating normal mode because normal mode is boring to me unless I'm speedrunning
I played through this game so many times unlocked all of the achievements, characters, weapons, and pets. I've even got a speedrun time of 56:43.692 and yet I've never seen anyone juggle like that, or exploit glitches as well as you. This game has come a long way.
There are some cool skips in the other categories like any% NG+ and any% NMG where you can skip the Dragon and industrial machine bosses, and skipping triggering the cutscene on alien ship

There is RNG on almost all stages, sometimes all the enemies will walk into your juggle and sometimes they will just scatter and make it take longer to kill. Final Boss one of the most consistent stages

It's a glitch you can do if you get a character unlock screen where if you are holding a direction to a spot on the map out will let you go to it even if it's locked, that also means you can do it to skip straight to the insane mode spot on the map without beating normal mode
If you are on PC then you go to your character statistics screen and press X and select yes, same with xbox 360 but on xbox one I think you have to go to manage game and delete save data
Nice to hear! I would recommend running one of the other categories first like Any% NG+ or Any% NMG because just regular Any% is really hard with the skip to Pirate ship. My favorite is Any% NG+ because you get the boomerang and the beginning of the game goes quicker, it is also easier since you can use bear for his starting weapon that has +5 Strength +5 Defense

Yeah it was a horrible medusa fight but this isn't even the world record run anymore, I have a better run that probably has a much better medusa, but I don't even like any% that much. NG+ is my favorite since the beginning is quicker and you don't do the skip to Pirate ship
Ik this is an pretty old video but if anyone happens to see this, what happened at 16:50? Corn boss takes a bunch of damage upon coming up and I can't figure out how. (I'm thinking of finally speedrunning this game)
This happens when an enemy is at the origin point of the level and you use the heavy dash at the same Y axis as the enemy. This occurs because the heavy dash animation is bugged where it checks for melee hits during the entire animation even on frames where there is no punch hitbox defined which allows you to hit enemies at the origin point of the level while you are at any X position as long as you are at the same Y axis of the enemy. If you are lucky and the Corn Boss never blocks you will stay in the dash animation until you are knocked out of it. The reason you stay in the dash animation is because you are constantly hitting the enemy. This will keep resetting your "float_timer" which is applied to the player after most melee attacks in the air meaning you will never hit the ground until the enemy moves away from the origin point.
What would be the best choice for a new player to pick out of the starting lineup, I'm flying solo for my run and ne'er played before, any recommendations or advice is welcomed.
I would just say go with what you want, for your first time I would recommend putting a few points into defense since each point of it gives +28 health and a small amount of resistance to attacks, it will really help so you won't be dying a only a few hits. But I believe strength is the most valuable since its the fastest way to kill regular enemies, but you won't be getting much xp since you get xp based on amount of times you hit an enemy before it dies. Magic is good if you have a good magic character. Agility helps with juggling which is how you beat insane mode
What was goin on with the Corn Boss dude? Why did he randomly take loads of damage upon emerging? And what was up with the final phase of the Evil Wizard? Also how sore was your thumb after this lol
Ugh this brings back memories cause I had the grey knight like level 70 or something and I was so proud, then my Xbox overheated and the hard drive was wiped, I’m still upset cause I didn’t even know the fan in it was broken until it was too late
Dude i had an opened face knight level 99 and i was so happy going into multiplayer with him and my dumbass 8 or 9 year old self reset the stats on him
The route has changed since then, I use red knight for the category now since there was a new tactic for getting xp on the pirate ship and desert and because his weapon has crit chance
GhostlyGam3rr when you finish the barbarian boss fight you hold right on the stick and it bypasses the boat, but if you leveled up it won’t work because it stops you to level. It’s odd
I chose him for his +1 strength starting weapon, but it doesn't really matter who you pick since you can pick up the pitchfork at the very beginning which has +1 strength as well. World Record was done using blue knight which is probably better since you can get more xp on the first wave of Barbarians before picking up the pitchfork, giving you a better chance of leveling up before Barbarian War.
Look at it this way, he never ruined the wedding for the groom, so we don't have to feel guilty about that any more.
