    Good game mate, can’t wait too see the other ones in the series.
    Also to go over some rules too:
    Troops can use more than just 1 action to move.
    Each group/formation gets 2 actions to act with and this can be to shoot, move, reload.
    This means that you can throw both actions into movement (so 2d6 move).
    This also means Skirmishers can get 3d6 movement and columns on roads get 3d6.
    Shock is cumulative. So a group a regular group that takes 1 shock over will retreat 1”. However if it takes another it doesn’t just retreat 1 inch, it retreats 2” and if another shock 3” and so on.
    This is how formations can be broken in game with a group receiving enough shock that it quickly forces back by 3” or more to which the other groups can’t reform too.
    Also you can deploy into line without the need of drill.
    The commanding leader in charge of a group can use his command initiative to snap as many groups under his command into line as long as they can reach their place in line 2” away.
    The front group and 2 behind always count as being able to snap in for initiative while the 4 and further have to dice to get into range of the other groups to snap in.
    You can also snap on other formations and groups not initially apart of the formation as long as they have the formation rule.
    Also for shock, you don’t need to use actions to remove but command initiative.
    This usually means that a level 4 leader can run 3 groups forward at the double, have each group take a shock and remove them using his command initiative.
    Tho this is usually also why groups have multiple assistant leaders to help with shock.
    Also note, light infantry in group stance 8 lads are treated the exact same as infantry.
    Only those in proper skirmish formation (6 lads) get the bonus move and shooting

    What a trill on seeing a skirmish leader named after me... A little of my own military history. I received my Army commission in 1985. My first assignment, Scout platoon leader for armor Bn. Kind-a like being a skirmish leader. I'm at the 25:00 minute mark of the game. I hope Lt. Carmichael doesn't blow any assignments! LOL!!

    Lucky you, being very near Perryville, KY! That's one battlefield I never got to see in my ACW touring 1998-2006. No Vicksburg out west, either, but Perryville was more interesting to me despite V'burg's massive campaign. Love your figs, scenery, and "system." A college-days buddy and I played 6mm ACW using "Fire & Fury" rules (Rich Hasenauer's sets) for several years. Attended NashCon once and HistoriCon in Lancaster PA 3 times. Lots of fun! Keep the good work with your gaming vids ... and thanks for the entertainment!

      I definitely need to get out there and visit more battlefields. They've done a good job preserving Perryville.
      I've heard a lot of good things about " Fire and Fury". I.need to buy that rule set. Thanks for stopping by. Have a great rest of the week!

      @@basement1908 Be aware, B1908, there's a Brigade-level Fire and Fury rule set AND a Regimental-level rule set. Which one you use may be dependent on how your ACW figs are based -- 3 to a stand or 4 to a stand -- and the width of your stands -- 3/4" or 1".

    Bravo Steve. Really excellent & fast paced game for a first outing. Course, I don’t know how much time you spent pouring over the rules between shots. I’ve got all the rules and stuff, although I opted for the chips in a bag rather than the deck of cards, to play but’ve been spending all my time painting things up for Black Powder. I’ll have to give it a go if my wife ever cleans off my game table from all her sowing stuff. The game seemed pretty close most of the time except for those devastating Reb volleys, must be the necessity of hunting in the South. The troops all looked terrific. Some skirmishing cavalry would add some great maneuvering & flank attacks and just look so cool on a big table like yours. Wow, a medic, I say a prayer of thanks every night for the life I’ve had because of the courage and skill of medics. PLAY ON !

      Thanks so much, my friend. I'm glad you enjoyed it. I had a blast. I have been painting up a wagon, some houses, and a monk in between yard work this weekend! Getting ready for the next game. The Rebels, after their hard fought victory, will be trying to escort a wagon full of Kentucky Bourbon back to their Basecamp.
      I was doing some read ruling between shots, but thankfully, playing Infamy Infamy prior to this was of great assistance.
      Have a fantastic week!

    Hiya, why did you base the figures individually? it seems as though the ACW appear smaller than the napoleonics? not really a big deal, just wondering. I have zero ACW figures, but dying to start. Theres just too much cool stuff out there to fit in one day. Inspiring video as always.

    • @basement1908
      @basement1908  Год назад

      In Sharp Practice with each casualty a unit receives, you remove an individual figure. That's why I bases them that way. A lot of people use movement trays, but I'm not on board with that yet, maybe one day. Have a great Derby Weekend 👍

    Very nice! The skirmishers...are they related to a certain infantry unit or are they independent? If they are a detachment of an infantry unit, have the infantry unit's card go into delay until the skirmish unit enters. And then they enter together when the skirmish unit's card is pulled. Just an idea. Skirmishers usually lead the way for the unit.
    Beautiful battlefield. I'm still waiting for my "furry" matt to arrive.

    • @basement1908
      @basement1908  Год назад +2

      I totally agree! I need to utilize my skirmishers better and overall improve my unit tactics. I also like to tidey up the format of the battle report ( that will improve over time, hopefully).
      I appreciate your input and I hope your Matt arrives soon. Have a great week 👍
