I had a galgo. I found her in the countryside. She was left to die. She lived with me for ten years and died peacefully with me on her side. She was a lovely dog. Your dogs are beautiful. I live in Spain and I do not know if a Greyhound is the same as a Galgo. Blessings.
My Hawkeye was my absolute soul dog. I had him from his age 4 - 12. He died of bone cancer. Then I got Sooner and decker. Sooner died two years ago at age 10 and decker is nine now and going strong! Love greyhounds so much.
What a lovely video, I feel like I’ve really got to know Scout by watching it 😊What a special girl she is. Happy New Year to you all and looking forward to seeing more adventures in 2023 🐾
I'm in New Zealand and watched your videos when researching owning a greyhound. I now have two! Best dogs ever as well as the community of owners you find yourself amongst when taking on a retiree..or two.
Thanks for watching. Hope you found the videos useful. They are great dogs. Wish more people knew this, hence why I keep making the videos. All the best for the new year.
It is hard to believe that you've had Scout 3 years. Time stood still during lockdown. But, at least we both had yards for our dogs to play in. I have enjoyed every video you have loaded including your pre-greyhound travelogues.
Loved this ! 😍. Thank you for sharing. It's great to see how much you both love Magnus & Scout ,both beauties 💕& have given them a great & loving home x
Thank you so much for taking us along on your adventures. They make me so happy I could just cry. I miss our greyhound so much and one day I hope to have another one. Happy New Year to your family and Happy Gotcha Day Scout!
I love your videos. They make me feel more relaxed about our galga's health and well-being. I tend to worry about her a lot and then I watch your videos and think 'it'll be fine'. Our Lucy is still quite an anxious dog but she's finally starting to trust me a bit more. I l'll keep looking out for more of your videos. Thanks for sharing these images with us! And of course : happy gotcha day Scout!
Very nice. It's been a long time since I've seen one of your videos. It's the first one since I moved to Portugal from the US, last March, 2022. I'm buying a house with a very large back yard. Can't wait to get my greyhounds (galgos).
QUESTION: I have a smallish yard (fenced) and it's 45 minutes to the nearest large dog park. But I do a lot of walking (3 - 5 miles/day) in our housing development(s) and also like to hike (8-20 miles/day). What are the limits on taking these beautiful creatures on long walks? My walking pace is something like 3.5 miles/hr., but my jogging pace (training for 5k runs) is a little more than twice that at 7.2 mph (30 minutes, max). Thanks!
Greyhounds just like people are different, so it will depend on the dog. Magnus and Scout are happy to go for long walks, but I know other's who are not so much interested in long walks. The average retired racing greyhound would not have done many, if any, long walks in their past lives, so you may need to build up the distance over time. Magnus and Scout will happily walk a few miles non stop. Anything longer and we have taken breaks. I do know some owners who go for long hikes up hills with their greyhound , but I also know many others whose pups do not go for long walks and have no interest in walking far. Your adoption center should be able to help you find a dog that likes a good walk. Hope this helps.
Our girl "Bing Bella" raced in Ireland and is now living the retired life in Chicago! Funny our girl also steals shoes and collects them. Their traits are so similar. May I ask what Scout's racing name was?
Thanks for watching. Scout's racing name was Get On Lola, she was born and trained in Ireland . Scout raced in England, mostly at Newcastle's greyhound track. Where in Chicago do you live? We lived in Chicago for 8 years. We lived in Lincoln Park for a while so we have imagined what it would have been like taking the pups around the old neighbourhood and walking along the lake etc.
That's amazing - I wouldn't be surprised if they were cousins 😆. Wow small world, we live outside of O'Hare airport in the suburbs. We do a Greyhound Sunday walkie out here every week so if you guys are ever in town, let me know!
Happy New Years to you folks and pups. Our boy Drake has been with us two years this March. As you know it takes a greyt some time to blomson into there personality and Drake has been doing that this past 6 months. Drake is our special boy. Enjoy your pups! Thanks.

How did she break her leg? Poor girl.
She just bent down to run and then started hobbling. The thought is that it may have a historic injury, that resurfaced.
Do these two like to meet new people?
Yes they are always excited to meet new people.
Seeing scout at 17 minutes was very upsetting, poor girl :(
She is not a fan of the fireworks. She is generally a very happy girl though
Wife wanted another dog, you weren’t so sure…so you compromised and got another dog 😂
Pretty much. Thanks for watching
@@magnusgreyhound 🤣I know it all to well. Magnus looks (incredibly) like my old lurcher Layla…identical I’d say! Such a gorgeous lad
Thanks
Happy New Years to you folks and pups. Our boy Drake has been with us two years this March. As you know it takes a greyt some time to blomson into there personality and Drake has been doing that this past 6 months. Drake is our special boy. Enjoy your pups! Thanks.
