He wakes up having been knocked out by Missy. He turns to her and says: "Woah I just had a really bad dream, I dreamt that you were the Master." She turns back to him and says: "The Master? No, don't be ridiculous. I'm the Rani." Enter Charles Dance: "No, I'm the Master." Cue the rest of Capaldi's actual run in the show. Also I suppose you could find a way to fit in Heaven Sent somewhere. That was a good story.
Fonejacker That would be the shark jumping the killer whale of television shows. Actually however, a clever Who writer could pull it off. Some grand Time Lord enemy that actually manipulates probability, time, alternative dimensions in order discredit Dr. Who in the minds of the planetary populations he protects. It could be epic and might be the only way to salvage the Dr. Who fan base. However, I would rate the chances of something like that at minus infinity to the infinite power. Non salvageable even if worked on by a real Time Lord with a nuclear powered sonic screwdriver.
The real irony is that instead of proving there could be a woman doctor of equal importance to her predecessors, she proved there couldn't. Well done that woman. Worst actress EVER. Has anyone told her that it is national TV and not school play drama?
In the end? I think Walsh has been the only main character to put in a decent performance during the whole series. Even he struggled with the lines from last week's travesty.
New theory: what if Bradley Walsh is actually playing the Doctor but in human disguise again? Whittaker is just some woman he picked to brainwash into believing she was the Doctor. When series 12 is over, Walsh will open a pocket watch, become the Doctor and Whittaker will collapse into a puddle of the fake flesh stuff and then the show gets back to regular form. Wishful thinking I know...
A bit like the movie with Michael Caine and Ben Kingsley, 'Without a Clue' :) Dr. Watson (Kingsley) is the real detective but no one takes him seriously so he hires this drunk actor (Caine) to play Holmes giving him the script to speak at ever crime scene.
How much you want to bet they add female daleks with higher voices? I also heard K-9 was coming back. I can't stop laughing when I imagine his voice saying "Affirmative... action."
Yeah I'm sure Jodie will bitch at the Daleks for not including their women in their extermination plans; female Daleks of course are every bit as good at genocide as male Daleks so they should not be left behind in their kitchens on Skaro........resulting in the Dalek army immediately becoming twice as big, with half of the soldiers wearing hair curlers and pink skirts and using roller pins to exterminate innocent people with.
I am hoping that this last season was just a bad dream brought on by the despair squid, i will have to kill myself before the new yeas special to find out. seems worth it either way.
45% drop in consolidated ratings over the course of 10 episodes. Well done Chibs, unprecedented, especially when all other seasons had to compete on a Saturday night, had more episodes, and no 'new woman Doctor' thing to carry it.
@Luke R People focus too much on the Viewing figures and Audience Ratings... Sorry but its true! The season has finished, As I predicted on a 7.82 Million Average... Not good, but about average for teh show since its 1963 Debut... In 55 Years - That's about the average the show has had... Even just over! Its kind of a cult classic with an average Viewership of 5-6 Million dedicated viewers... Now, Just to show the BBC does not actually give a damn toss about Ratings, Take its Flagship Political Brainwashing Show EastEnders... Not only is this on 4 DAYS A WEEK... The BBC have CONTINUALLY PUSHED THE SHOW and diverted funds to it for DECADES NOW - And at the expense of Doctor Who as well (It was well known that one of the Christmas Episodes as well as the final Season of Torchwood had funding CUT so that the BBC could place more money into a LIVE EastEnders episode... The Final Torchwood Season was supposed to be 13 Episodes.. But we Got Four... ONLY FOUR.. Despite 13 Being written and ready to film, the BBC only commissioned FOUR!!!) NOT ONLY is EastEnders the most COMPLAINED ABOUT SHOW on British Television... in 2017, According to Wikipedia (I cannot find any current year information... ) - Its viewing figures had DROPPED to 6.68 Million... AND YET THE BBC STILL KEEP IT ON 4 DAYS A BLOODY WEEK - And the Media is now saying that the last Week saw viewing figures DROP TO BELOW 4 MILLION!!!! The last BBC show I know that failed that badly was the ill fated Eldorado... Which was cancelled after one series - Just as it finally started to get good!!! But despite this - I 100% Guarantee that the BBC will do all it can to Save EastEnders... Despite it being a TERRIBLE Show that is clearly totally out of touch now with its audience... Yet as soon as Season 12 Of Doctor Who gets bad ratings, say another Capladi run of only 5 million.. They will BURN THE SHOW IN HELL!!!! Sad Fact, The BBC does not care about Doctor Who... They only bought it back because they wanted Russel T. Davis... They don't want Doctor Who, But they dont want anyone else to have it either... As the show CAN and WOULD BE a Massive Success!!!!
The new woman Doctor didn't drag up the ratings, it just made them spike on the first episode which makes the decline looks worse. Also, this season didn't have any two-parters which carry the ratings. Most importantly though, other seasons didn't have to deal with crying man-babies who all go on youtube to cry together about how the world is leaving them behind.
@@T4terrible This season also had the advantage of numbers included from viewing on tablets and phones (change made in Sept) ; one would hazard a guess this is quite a lot given the show is, or was Science Fiction. How this affects it is largely unknown, other than it almost certainly increases it. It was estimated to be a huge jump for Love Island (about 20%) but almost nothing for Sport and Soaps. One does wonder if it is the massive success the BBC claim it is, why virtually all their scheduling and production decisions suggest otherwise. Fewer episodes, easier day, not Christmas, no more episodes till 2020 etc. If it's that great you weaponise it and make more. Incidentally there were a lot of complaints about Capaldi's last season which had much of the same problems, though not about Capaldi himself. I'm unconvinced about Whittaker either way ; the stories and writing have been so bad (though improving in the second half, I thought) it's hard to tell.
Warren Marris there hasn’t been one series of Torchwood with four episodes. Series 3 had 5 and the final series had around 10 episodes so I don’t know where you got that from.
This doctor is always confused, doesn’t understand and always shocked. More than her companions. She exerts no authority or charisma. I’ll tune back in once she’s gone. Gave her an entire series to show some promise.
My take/head cannon theory on this Doctor sucking is that 12 REALLY didn’t want to regenerate, and fought it actively, so his next regeneration is an anomaly. The real doctor is hibernating inside 13, but so asleep and so deep down that she barely exudes his essence. She’s like a pre-programmed robot designed to act and think LIKE the Doctor while he rests for one regeneration.
Chemy Lowski yeah I could like JW too if my head cannon was reviewed as actual cannon. Would be free to not really consider her the Doctor and let her faulty regeneration play out. Unfortunately the BBC and their NPC shock troops would NEVER let this be the case. Maybe in the year 2030 the world will have taken the red pill on the SJW’s and this notion can be retconned in. Could easily make it the case and not disrupt anything aside from ‘because reasons’ whiney fans.
Idea on how to retcon this Doc (WARNING! LONG POST AHEAD!!!!): Following an adventure by Whitaker’s doc and the “fam”/ “gang” (my gag reflex started up there), they are heading back towards the Tardis with Jodie babbling some nonsense like usual (probably about taking them to see some blue cows from a distant planet that have green milk and how it makes the best ice cream or some bs), when a voice shouts out, “I don’t think you’ll really have time for that, Doctor!”. And out of the shadows steps the Peter Capaldi’s doctor. (I’m condensing the rest of this **as best as I can**): Basically, it turns out that right when the Doctor was regenerating at the end of “Twice Upon A Time”, someone used The Doctor’s artron energy to swap places with them (much like the Doctor did with Clyde from The Sarah Jane Adventures episode “Death of the Doctor”) and sends him to another galaxy across the universe. This swap used the power of the regeneration (not only his, but hers as well so the regeneration scene would look seamless) and basically slowed down the Doctor’s regeneration so he still will change, but he’s stuck for the time being - unsure of when the change will occur. And the person who switched places with him is another Time Lord who survived the Time War by staying hidden in a remote corner of the Universe: The Rani. So “Doctor” 13 has been the Rani doing an impersonation of the Doctor and that’s why in “Twice Upon A Time” the Tardis rejected her and shook her out. And the “Ghost Monument” was The Rani’s Tardis trying to adapt to the new form that The Rani was trying to force it into, before stabilizing. The reason she made a sonic herself was to ward off suspicion as to why “The Doctor” would be going around without a sonic and why the Tardis didn’t make one for her. Also, the reason the Doctor was getting so PC was that The Rani was testing her equipment for the swap to slowly see if she could change things about the Doctor without him realizing, and it was working (I was gonna say maybe that either Bill or maybe Nardole wasn’t a real person but an android relay station for the signal to change the Doctor in the early phases of testing). As to where the Doctor has been, after getting his bearings and retrieving his Tardis, he first goes to take part in putting Galifrey into the pocket dimension with the other Doctors (he is the only Doctor to retain the memories since he witnesses it as he is still regenerating and as such the event is unaffected after the time line corrects itself). Since then, he has been trying to catch up to The Rani and has been observing what she is doing and reveals that while she has been traveling she has been affecting wherever she has traveled and he has had to set things right (put the space racist back in prison, trapped the Pting in an artificial black hole to keep it from causing any more trouble but also because it consumes energy and a black hole will suck in energy without letting anything out (he’s the Doctor, if he wants to make an artificial black hole, he’s gonna make one), etc. And it is revealed she has been trying to find ways to permanently be rid of the doctor (spider venom from the mutant spiders, the exploding bubble wrap, the alternate reality to trap him like how Rose is trapped, the Pting to destroy the Tardis by consuming its energy, etc.) as she knew he would eventually find a way back. This episode (most likely a special) would center around trying to convince the companions (who don’t know the real Doctor of the danger they are in while the Rani tries to convince them that the 12th is he Master and is trying to harm them. It’d be a heavily psychological and dark special with the real Doctor (Capaldi) ending up with the companions in his Tardis after saving them after the Rani reveals herself with a mistake and ends up trying to kill them and he traps her with a stasis cube (because of course he still has one). He shows them the records/holograms with his regenerations and some of the things he has done as well as some of the things the Rani has done. The companions start asking about regeneration and other questions while also stating how crazy the situation is and the Doctor says he will answer everything, but only after he regenerates because he will change soon. He heads to the Zero Room and Graham, Ryan, and Yaz watch as he sets the Zero Room to jumpstart the regeneration and he changes into the next doctor (idk who, but yall can throw suggestions in the comments)
Not true, he was an actor, he just fell into hosting, but he’s on record saying because he couldn’t get acting jobs!!!!! He jumped head first into dr who. You can tell he’s the best thing on dr who. And I’ve never been a fan of his until dr who.
Then you, sir, are a racist, sexist, homophobe....ehmmm.....what other SJW buzzwords have they used to me during this whole season? Ah fuck it, I agree with you anyway.
The New Year's Day episode has the Dr being asked to help a colony of gay rainbow-coloured Daleks who have been expelled by the mean, oppressive straight white Daleks. The Dr doesn't actually fight the straight Daleks, but tells them off in no uncertain terms and shames them into accepting their gay counterparts back into the fold, and these thank her by redecorating the Tardis in shades of beige and one Dalek called Derek tells the Dr to "Exfoliate!" You think I'm kidding?
well, at least she can sell the TARDIS easy now with all that beige. you think im kidding? have ya ever seen any of those house selling shows. its white, beige and gray everywhere or you cant sell a house these days XD
Mike Stanmore fortunately people will be too drunk from the night before to bother watching it but undoubtedly the npc sheep will follow it like a bunch of bitches.
I stopped watching after the lilo and stitch episode. I gave the finale a go though. I didn’t hate it, but what a forgettable episode. And it was the finale. All the previous finales have been must watch. So, I didn’t get it. But I was meh.
Grumpy old people in younger bodies? sounds like the way doctor who should be made! you should replace Chibnell, you have more of a handle on the show.
> The Pirate Planet One of the best. I love that whole arc. My favorite Companion is Romana I. She's not necessarily the best Companion. But for me she's the favorite. So cheeky. Lulz. Gave Doctor IV a run for the money in the repartee department.
Romana was a Time Lord, the female version. The feeling was that you had male and female Time Lords, but a male Time Lord couldn't regenerate into a female Time Lord and a female Time Lord couldn't regenerate into a male Time Lord, their genders didn't change. That's one aspect of Doctor Who that ChinBall didn't think of.
Lol! Masters of the eight galaxy's or something and yet a pensioner and a dispraxic kid take him down and put him in a freezer... forgetting he comes from a cold environment which should be like summer for him. Even Chibnall forgot and he wrote it!
@@nozoto Has she ever mentioned where she's from and what she is anyway? I don't even think so. So she could be some imposte lifeform that took over the Doctor's body during Capaldi's regeneration.
no kidding. my first episode i watch live was eleventh hour and watched almost every one live since(missed 3 maybe 4 cus of it being on saterday night) and this last one was the first one i missed intentional also. sad times
This is the first season I've missed since the revival... although I did nearly not watch Capaldi's last season too (only kept with it for The Master and The Mondasian Cybermen)
@@seamusoneill5765 Capaldi's last season actually was much better than his previous 2, at least if you're able to ignore all the SJW crap in it like an interracial necrophile lesbian, the U.K. full of black people in the past and Capaldi saying it always has been like this and that history is whitewashed etc etc etc. But the stories themselves I actually did like. Jodie's episodes were preachy, irritating AND boring.
Another thing this series seems to promote... this is the third episode I know of in this series (I quit after ep 5) that features some sort of inserted chip.
Gmail com i believe he means: Ep 1: they get chipped by that alien thing. Ep 2: translating chip implanted at the back of their necks. Etc. And this ep chips on their temples. Chibnall is a man of many tropes.
I have to say a big thank to bowlshrek. The buildup drove me mad. The newspaper articles, the TV spots, the adverts, the comic-con appearances. It was sending me over the edge Then we discovered she was the most inept actress possible. You were right bowleshek. Now after the final one we have a gobshite of a doctor, an idiot of a show runner, paltry scripts annoying companions In the scheme of things. You were right.
The empty rooms in the conventions she will attend will speak volumes. "Hey you going to listen to jodi talk crap"? "No way! I heard there's a skid mark on a toilet pan that's more interesting"
@@stevencassidy6982 she's not the best actor to have played the doctor, I'll give you that, but she's excellent in Broadchurch and Black Mirror. There's only so much actors can do with shoddy scripts.
The canon version is that Capaldi chose to die during the Xmas special and never regenerate. Maybe someday we will find out that he chose to regenerate into someone: but it won't be today and it won't be Jodie Whittaker.
@@cyberbeanie5387 I've always had a good feeling for Love and Monsters due to being 6 when it came out and my Auntie being one of the LINDA members. I would put the episode higher than most of this season as it actually had a decent story.
@@cyberbeanie5387 Haha yeah, Fear her is hard to swallow, a low bottom of NuWho, but still way better than Series 11 as you say (or what I've heard of Series 11, since I've stopped after episode 2).
I listened to many views on this show, after I started watching it, and many said I was sexist, homophobic, transphobic and Islamophobic if I don't watch it.. So I gave it another go because who wants to all that... I almost forgot racist as well. After trying to watch the Ghost Monument.... for the 3rd time, I turned to my friends and asked; "what did you call me again?" to which they repeated the above, so I replied "I'm good with that"👍 Turns out I prefer to be called (edit; this is not an admission to being racist, sexist, transphobic or Islamophobic) a racist, sexist, transphobic and apparently Islamophobic than watch this show.
So is no one gonna talk about how the doctor started using bombs and weapons in this episode. It was cos of this and how Graham said he wanted to kill Tim which made me think the devices in their head were faulty and weren't working. I'm happy that we will have a year of freedom from this disaster untill 2020 when the show returns
Yeah like I said elsewhere: "Ohhh what's this? Something of unlimited density. My sonic can't make any sense of it and I can't evne begin to theorize what it is. Let's strap some bombs on it; I'm not against blowing things up that are replacable like doors and such!" I reall hated her attitude anyway, bitching Ryan off for making a point about those bombs and that stupid remark to Graham about that if he would kill the monster he would become just as bad as that monster. Really? How many Daleks have you killed in your earlier regenerations? And what would your ideas be about killing Hitler?
@@LloydEWatson1983aughter is forbidden! Laughter is OFFENSIVE. Click the link, and be educated about why this was the show we need in current year when Orangeman/Brexit bad. Do not resist.
peter e if it's a brilliant and great success why make fewer episodes and take a year off? If widgets are a hit, wouldn't you make as many as you could sell?
Couldn’t agree with you more about the music. Is there even going to be a series 11 soundtrack? What’s going to be on it? Just a bunch of ambient sounds?
_"most people that watched it yesterday have probably already forgotten about it"_ I literally just finished watching the episode one minute before watching this video, and I can barely remember any of it.
Making the Doctor transgender was the most insulting underhanded back-stabbing thing they could have done... They couldn't have male, female and transgender Time Lords...NO...they had to make the original Icon transgender which has ruined any integrity a male, female and transgender Time Lord could have had, because now they are all transgenders. This is not the Doctor, it's a doppelganger of the worst and most abhorrent sort. Only now are people beginning to understand what they have actually done to this once legendary show. They made it about sex and gender, things that never were showcased like they are now a days...the entire focus of the show has been subverted...this is why it is such a pathetic abomination loathed by so many.
Thank you, I don't hear this brought up enough. I am a woman and I don't see the new Doctor as a regular female. She has memories and a past history of a man. Therefore transgender. Hey I have no problem with the struggles of the transgender and if they need a hero to identify with great. But don't put out a trans Doctor and expect women like me to get excited. Give me a series with a time lady like Romana and I'll be it's biggest fan.
Um,, The Master became Missy a while ago. This season didn't change that concept. You sound like people who moan Star Wars is being ruined now. When episode one was made years ago.
@sallygo1234 with all the problems the show has now, gender is not the real issue. If Helen Mirrum was playing the role and the other elements where the same I doubt people would be complaining. As they weren't before, when Missy arrived. Personally I liked her character more than The Master. The issue should be completely reinventing an established series is insulting and unwanted.
@Kathy Bartley and Darlene fly. Who was ruined a while back. Is supposed to be my point. Complaining now is just a fad. And complaining solely of the gender issues is small minded.
@Kathy Bartley so tell me, if the doctor became a male again and the show continued as is would you be happy? What else do you not like about current Doctor who?
Nailed it. She's just not the Doctor. She doesn't have the balls, the ego, the lovable quirkiness, the, "Oh, shit! Now you did it." moments. There's no gravitas. No cleverness about her. I seriously have trouble believing she came up with the idea to breate on her own let alone build her sonic or send planets back! They didn't have auditions and you can tell because there's no way in hell she would have gotten the part if she wasn't Chibnalls buddy. Then again he needs to be strung up from the nearest tree too!
Must admit, though I’ve loathed this season and Whittaker continues to be an obvious weak link, this episode was more “traditional” DW than the previous horrible 9. I do agree, however, that it ‘borrowed’ from a lot of better sources. I also agree that the consistently brilliant Bradley Walsh and guest Mark Addy (and, to a lesser extent, Tosin Cole) were on fine form. As for Mandip Gill - it’s patently clear that she’s a “non character” - adding nothing to the story (she should ask her agent to see if she’s in the right show!). Compared to awesome past stories like “The Stolen Earth” etc, it may seem like a very much inferior episode but, unlike every other episode this season, it DID have some level of excitement and energy - even if, yet again, that energy wasn’t coming from the Doctor herself.
When the elder Ux asked "Who are you?" she said "I'm nobody." I started watching with the 9th Doctor but i've never seen an opportunity missed for the Doctor to say "I'm the Doctor." with conviction. I know its a little thing but it bothered me.
The next Doctor needs to wake up in a newly designed console room, missing a huge chunk of memory, with no idea how he got there or how much time has passed. No regeneration scene from 13 to 14, no hangover companions from the previous incarnation, no weird xenomorph finger-looking sonic screwdriver, nothing, a fresh start. Then let some time pass and let the future decide if this current series should remain canon or be written out as some kind of post regeneration related hallucination due to the mental and physical trauma of regenerating more times than is natural of a Timelord. Hey, I can dream, can't I?
Bowlestrek, thanks, I noticed this too, and it's a very important point well said: "There is a lot of nuance to playing the Doctor. For example, if you look at the other four New Who Doctors, the most important element in their performance was non-verbal. Very few actors could pull this off, and Christopher Eccleston, David Tennant, Matt Smith and Peter Capaldi are probably some of the best actors of modern times. Much of what makes the Doctor the Doctor is the eyes, and each personality is a façade masking an ageless wisdom and an element of danger. It's in the eyes. Tennant could be wacky, but when the story called for it he had a gaze that could cut right through you. Matt Smith had a childish innocent persona with a humorous element of controlled mania, but he could turn that off on a dime and suddenly with just a look you could see every past Doctor and he would age 50 years in an instant. This is where Whittaker completely misses the mark. She has managed a very bad imitation of the façade of Ten and Eleven, but is completely lacking any of the nuance that makes the Doctor the Doctor. These other actors could easily pull off the Doctor's character without saying a thing. It was more obvious in this episode because the Doctor just doesn't shut up. There's a nervousness to the performance, kind of like a social anxiety disorder. During the few moments when she does shut up the eyes seem vacant and give no indication that the ageless Time Lord is in there. She is not the Doctor. She is only the façade." (3:59-5:08)
To qoute an article that was posted on the internet The Doctor needs to grow some balls or in other words the Doctor needs to sometimes be scary. An example would be in the episode where Clara dies and the Doctor threatens Ashildr. That scene worked because Capaldi acted it in a way that when he said he would bring UNIT, the Cybermen and if he got some time he would even bring the Daleks here, you knew he was SERIOUS. If Clara hadn´t stopped him Ashildr would have truly known what it would mean to feel the full fury of a time lord. Personally i think if the Doctor is going to come back after this mess, The doctor needs to go dark VERY dark almost on the lvl of The Valeyard from the Big Finish Audio He Jests at Scars... someone who isn´t above sacrificing his companions in order to reach his goal. The whole lets all be best of friends isn´t going to cut it. so iw would say we almost need an entire season of a really dark doctor in order to balance it out.
Now, I do not usually side with Bowlestrek on anything - however with this last episode (finale) of series 11, I think he might agree with me - Thee worst ever series finale of the modern Who era. I take it most agree?
New Who perhaps, but it was similar to the finales of a Classic Who episode; which i think is what Chibnall was aiming for. The idea that a finale is not a big fanfare but simply the beginning of a transmission gap between seasons.
i can't believe bbc is letting her stay for another season. so fucking sad. if they don't scrap the awful writing team and get an actor that actually has charisma, the shows gonna be cancelled.
Well as long as Chibnall steals the storylines of earlier episodes, he actually IS capable of making something quite decent, like this last episode. Just slap some other names on the aliens and the companions, and you have a whole new episode! 55 years of episodes to leech from!
Quick recap: Music - Monotonous and forgettable. Stories - mostly boring, uninspired, preachy. Acting - meh, with a few exceptions. Cinematography, vfx and direction - OK. Overall, the negatives outweigh the positives for this series. The high viewing figures and the cool visuals are undeserved. The show has a great concept and they wasted a lot of potential.
You might want to take a look at the amazing article in The Atlantic; "The Radical Helplessness of the New Doctor Who", where several thousand words are written on the thesis that the 13th Doctor is bad at projection of authority... and that this is somehow a good thing because there's-no-possible-way-the-character-was-just-badly-done-hail-feminism.
Badly Drawn Turtle I just read that, it’s really bizarre: so the last 12 white Doctors are just exemplified white patriarchy but Jodi is radical because she does...nothing and has...no authority.
Everything about the show is terrible, especially the main cast. There's very little interaction between the three companions who often just stand around like extras in an episode of 60s Star Trek. Whittaker's costume and hairstyle are absolutely dire and she's completely lacking in charisma and screen presence. The wifie next door to me could easily have been chosen to play the Doctor for all Chris Chibnall cared about the character. I hated the new series.
If that leaked Dalek picture is accurate then they have possibly introduced a whole new "Design flaw" with fixed double cannons and no manipulators - that better be a modern "Heavy Weapons Dalek" (Or Cannon Dalek if you prefer) as if it's a standard one it can't do much other than shoot things directly in front of it - or traverse a bit - it can't even fire up or down only at things right in front of it at chest height. ( hardly ideal ). Oh and Jodie is a bit of a dork in her acting (but not in an endearing way).
Did not watch one episode of the crap. I did however watch all your reviews which I really enjoyed. I still replay early Doctor Episodes and will watch your reviews again long after this false Doctor is long gone.
Fell asleep during the finale. It’s sitting there, rotting away on my sky box, waiting for me to be drunk enough to watch it. I’ll be hungover on New Years Day so I’ll watch it in the right mood.
I was shocked at how boring this episode was. I nearly fell asleep. When I watch it I forget I’m watching doctor who. I see graham as the doctor tbh moreso than the doctor 😂
Is it possible for the DVDs to be released directly to the deep discount bargain bin? Maybe the BBC could team up with the "Everything's A Dollar" stores here in the states and sell the collector sets for a dollar. It would be worth it if they were to throw in a free tee shirt with it. I mean you could always wear the tee shirt inside out.
Tried to give it a chance and watched the 1st 4 episodes and switched off, you've saved me so much time not watching this SJW Garbage masquerading really badly as a a Iconic Sci Fi TV Show, Thank you for your sacrifice Sir :)
I ve been trying to point my figure on what's missing from 13th Doctor and you hit the nail on the head, that look that speaks of an aged timelord that has seen horrors and wonders in equal measure. Not seen this episode yet, after last weeks 'frog on a chair' I wanted to wait and see what reviews where saying before I take time out of my busy schedule to watch it.
No it's something of unlimited density that completely puzzles the Sonic Screwdriver and she also cannot even BEGIN to theorize what it possibly could be, so she straps some explosives on it, because she isn't against blowing replacable things up like doors and such. The fun thing is that in the Punjab episode the already basically saw the same thing, athough that was in dust form and this is in solid form.
I'm glad that the topic of the music has been mentioned. The guts and the clanking menace of the original theme is completely missing, a bit like this series you could say.
Just got my classic who season 19 blu ray box set through the post. Even Time Flight is better than this PC crap, and that is saying something lol. Am looking forward to watching Peter Davison's first season from the 80's again. I am so not looking forward to the train wreck new year special from Chibnal.
Doctor Who is coming back early 2020 (been confirmed it's no rumour) which I hate bcos I just want to get this Jodie Whittaker eara of Doctor Who done and over with tbh.
They are going to stretch 16 episodes and 2 "specials" to last for three entire years, so they can say Jodie Whittaker lasted just as long as other Doctors and wasn't just a flash in the pan.
@ Skylight On the plus side, that means that if you accept that Who won't be any good again for the foreseeable future, you can forgo watching it and instead use the time to catch up on the original '63-'89 run, or the Target novelizations, or the Virgin New Adventures and Missing Adventures, or the Eighth Doctor BBC Books series and it's accompanying Past Doctors series, or any of Big Finish's MASSIVE back catalogue (of which just the main monthly range is now up to 200+ stories), or you could catch up on any of the many, many comic runs, or even the Telos novellas if you're so inclined. (But don't read The Dalek Factor by Simon Forward. It'll scar you for life if you're an animal lover.) All of which is superior in quality to Series 11, and in all likelihood Series 12 too. Have at it.
The animation for Macra looks schmicky as all get out. So, so much better than what we got with Power. I'm very much looking forward to adding that DVD to the collection.
I've figured out Jodie's catchphrase for the series. "I'm clever." Go back, watch the series and take a shot every time she alludes to her intelligence. Actually don't do that. You'll be disorientated and confused before you even sip that first shot.
It was a very poor final episode ...and summed up the whole series ...flat dull boring and a lead actor with no presence or authority on screen...so sad.
Interesting observation regarding the gaze. You're right. The eyes have to be able to convey the culmination of ages past and send out a somewhat unsettling signal of mystery and deep antiquity. That ancient otherworldiness is not present with Whittaker. I think an actor either has that look or they don't. Capaldi had it by the Tardis load.
This specific episode wasn't even that bad, which of course really surprised me. Yeah there still was plenty of horseshit in it, we're talking about Jodie and Chibnall here; what else did you expect? But still, this stolen storyline was rather interesting and the former king of Westeros of course also made things much better.
I think her final monologue before the TARDIS leaves is the best single demonstration of how Whitaker just doesn't have an ounce of the talent the last four showed so well. The words should have instilled wonder about the Universe and how it's infinite, dangerous and beautiful. Imaging Tennant or Smith making the same speech - they would have nearly brought the audience to tears while hinting at the wonders the show still has to show us year after year. A huge wasted opportunity - like every episode in this season.
Can we have the doctor wake up to reveal that the whole of this series has been a hideous nightmare and the doctor is still Peter Capaldi?
Yep, wakes up before the abortion that was the Xmas special.
Shhhhh! I think the real Doctor is Bradley......undercover.........Shhhhh!.........Don't tell anybody........
He wakes up having been knocked out by Missy. He turns to her and says: "Woah I just had a really bad dream, I dreamt that you were the Master."
She turns back to him and says: "The Master? No, don't be ridiculous. I'm the Rani."
Enter Charles Dance: "No, I'm the Master."
Cue the rest of Capaldi's actual run in the show.
Also I suppose you could find a way to fit in Heaven Sent somewhere. That was a good story.
@ ShandalfGreyhame ....You just gave me the best orgasm of my life.
And in the end, a companion and a side character gave better performances than the main lead. Really telling.
It means we should be wondering if Bradley would have been a better, or at least more interesting Doctor.
TheSouloftheDragon didn't you hear they're called friends now
He should of been cast as the Doctor.
And in three sentences a stronger story line than the whole of Series 11.
@@davidbgreensmith Agreed.
I second that.
I'd legit call season 11 a fucking masterpiece if that happened. Seriously, like standing ovation.
Would be an incredible way to save the show.

I hate to admit but I wouldn't be suprised lol.

ONLY FOUR.. Despite 13 Being written and ready to film, the BBC only commissioned FOUR!!!)
NOT ONLY is EastEnders the most COMPLAINED ABOUT SHOW on British Television... in 2017, According to Wikipedia (I cannot find any current year information... ) - Its viewing figures had DROPPED to 6.68 Million...
People are still insisting the ratings this season have been fantastic...
She’s like a pre-programmed robot designed to act and think LIKE the Doctor while he rests for one regeneration.
dude i could forgive everything if that was the case. Could even like jw
Bro this is a better story than s11 combined...I hope it’s true
Right now, I’ll take it 👍
Idea on how to retcon this Doc (WARNING! LONG POST AHEAD!!!!):
Following an adventure by Whitaker’s doc and the “fam”/ “gang” (my gag reflex started up there), they are heading back towards the Tardis with Jodie babbling some nonsense like usual (probably about taking them to see some blue cows from a distant planet that have green milk and how it makes the best ice cream or some bs), when a voice shouts out, “I don’t think you’ll really have time for that, Doctor!”. And out of the shadows steps the Peter Capaldi’s doctor.
(I’m condensing the rest of this **as best as I can**):
Basically, it turns out that right when the Doctor was regenerating at the end of “Twice Upon A Time”, someone used The Doctor’s artron energy to swap places with them (much like the Doctor did with Clyde from The Sarah Jane Adventures episode “Death of the Doctor”) and sends him to another galaxy across the universe.

Capaldi saying “I’m the Doctor” in the first episode of Class was the best thing about that series.
It's official Dude I like you.....A fellow Canadian!!
Yes, a fellow Canadian. One of the very few positive things that I can relate to regarding this obscenity.
Jodi's iteration of Doctor Who reminds me more of the Gumby sketches From Monty Python than the Doctor.
My brain hurts!!
Got a bit of brain stuck in me head , nice her outfit is Gumby thanks for pointing out one good thing about this mess
Haha. Spoilers, like imma watch this dumpster fire. Thanks for suffering through it for us.
Jodie couldn't even intimidate a Tivolian.
@Moonfall777 Haha, true!
2:10 >shrinks Planets of those who were mean to him
Soooo...He's just the Stupider Version of Brainiac (DC Comics)???
i can't believe bbc is letting her stay for another season. so fucking sad. if they don't scrap the awful writing team and get an actor that actually has charisma, the shows gonna be cancelled.
Thank God. It'll return a million times better
Well as long as Chibnall steals the storylines of earlier episodes, he actually IS capable of making something quite decent, like this last episode.
Just slap some other names on the aliens and the companions, and you have a whole new episode! 55 years of episodes to leech from!
I kind of enjoy how many articles on the Internet praise the last season.
You've summed it up brilliantly!
Whittaker's acting: wave the sonic, then adopt a toothy, gormless, short-sighted grimace. Job done.
#retconjodiewhittaker
Plenty of ideas for that are posted under these videos. I really wish one of those would come true.
I just don't notice the music. I look back and try to think - was there music?
I miss the old classic Doctor Who interior control room of Tardis . The New Who Tardis interiors look weirder and more fussy with each Doctor.
It's nice to have some courageous people to watch this and review it, I wasn't able to watch fully the very first episode myself.
@Matrix29bear
Please leave your nonsensical Jew-hating off my comment replies, thank you.
This whole planet that changes your perception of reality kinda has a Red Dwarf vibe to it. Just like when they landed on the Sci Moon.
Said it from the first episode...unfunny stolen red dwarf scenarios
A lot of people complained about the pregnant man in series 11 but did anyone complain about Lister giving birth to twins in Red Dwarf?
no because that was a comedy, this was just putrid
Season 13, aka the season of the little doctor that couldn't
Bowlestrek always fucking DESTROYS these episodes. It's brilliant.
How do you knowxit's crap, then? Use your loaf
Fell asleep during the finale. It’s sitting there, rotting away on my sky box, waiting for me to be drunk enough to watch it. I’ll be hungover on New Years Day so I’ll watch it in the right mood.
Can this Doctor do anything on her own?
Odds are not without help!
Yes, kill the franchise.
Just found your channel and it's brilliant! Love to hear it.
I was shocked at how boring this episode was. I nearly fell asleep. When I watch it I forget I’m watching doctor who. I see graham as the doctor tbh moreso than the doctor 😂
Thank god! Gone till 2020! Now I can enjoy classic who in peace.
We neeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeed Russel T. Davies back! Pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeease!
She is carrying a plastic bag???
No it's something of unlimited density that completely puzzles the Sonic Screwdriver and she also cannot even BEGIN to theorize what it possibly could be, so she straps some explosives on it, because she isn't against blowing replacable things up like doors and such.
The fun thing is that in the Punjab episode the already basically saw the same thing, athough that was in dust form and this is in solid form.
I'm glad that the topic of the music has been mentioned. The guts and the clanking menace of the original theme is completely missing, a bit like this series you could say.
I swear the composer/arranger has substituted Delia's iconic bassline with a biscuit tin and hitting the lid with a spanner.
Just got my classic who season 19 blu ray box set through the post. Even Time Flight is better than this PC crap, and that is saying something lol. Am looking forward to watching Peter Davison's first season from the 80's again. I am so not looking forward to the train wreck new year special from Chibnal.
Respect to you for getting through the whole series. I couldn't even finish episode 2.
It'll scar you for life if you're an animal lover.)
All of which is superior in quality to Series 11, and in all likelihood Series 12 too. Have at it.
The animation for Macra looks schmicky as all get out. So, so much better than what we got with Power. I'm very much looking forward to adding that DVD to the collection.
The two middle aged white men were the best actors? Who saw that coming.
The music isn’t very memorable the writing is poor the acting isn’t very good the designs are all boring
Has anyone considered that, since Whittaker’s Doctor is a hollow imitation of Doctors Past, she is in effect portraying the Valeyard?
One word describes this episode. Underwhelming.
I won’t even watch this horror
This specific episode wasn't even that bad, which of course really surprised me. Yeah there still was plenty of horseshit in it, we're talking about Jodie and Chibnall here; what else did you expect? But still, this stolen storyline was rather interesting and the former king of Westeros of course also made things much better.
All the "Skronk faces" Whitaker does makes me think of Rik Mayall as Richie from Bottom. And not in a good way unfortunately.
This f*ckry must end; maybe we can write off this season as the 12 Doctor’s nightmare.
“I just didn’t feel like myself in that nightmare of a reality”
