I watched this growing up in the 90's
Az elég nagy gáz lehetett, hogy a főszereplő színész menet közben földobta a pacskert. Yul Brinner az elhalálozott Tyronne Powertől vette át a főszerepet, és nyilván az addig leforgatott jeleneteket újra kellett forgatni. Mellesleg Brinner eredetileg is jobb választás lehetett volna, mint az akkor már meglehetősen rozoga Power.

This is the film that Yul Brynner gave up 'Spartacus' for.
Too bad for him. Spartacus is recognized as a classic nowadays. This movie, you kind of have to seek it out to find it.
Spartacus looks silly compared to this. This is a well made movie. Stanley Kubrick sort of ridiculed and fooled the audiences with Spartacus.

Sort of, Yul wasn’t going to be in the Kubrick/Douglas film. That was Kirk Douglas’ baby and he is the one that bought the rights to the Howard Fast book, obviously Kirk didn’t buy the rights just to hand the part over to Yul. Yul was in a competing production about Spartacus called The Gladiators. This film delayed production on The Gladiators, then the Kubrick film came out and for whatever reason the studio decided not to make the Gladiators.
The only reason Brynner got this part is because Tyrone Power who was playing Soloman originally died during filming

Really!!🤔If you’re thinking like that, you may be thinking them using Song of Solomon scriptures were kind of cringey like I did😖. It was not written for the Queen of Sheba. But anyone who believes the Bible should be prepared for Hollywood to spin it their own way.
