Yup, that fin funnels were nightmare. Took me hours because I thought I must be doing something wrong....... Nope, it's just the most difficult fit ever!! There's even an add-on for that hyper bazooka weapon... sheesh!
To us non painter/custom builder, this is like living the dream. Not all Metal builds are built equal. Bulky suits like this one is a nightmare compare to the Freedom Concept 2 which is very good and not a nightmare to finagle about.
I've bought a few of the metal builds, if you want to suffer trying to put pieces together on a model then look no further than the Crossbones Gundam Full Cloth, I also bought the Origin Zaku which I really liked and the Aile Strike Gundam with the Flight pack which I also liked quite a bit. Neither of the last two made me want to throw it across the room. Lol Maybe one of these days I will putz around with the Crossbones and try and get it into a better pose or mount more of the crazy amount of weapons.
I never got the alert for this, but i got the one for the line tool & checked the all videos tab. i'm leaving a comment to show the algorythm i want my alerts to work. Keep up the good work.
Once you know the trick to getting them funnels on diagonally at their corner and not straight on it takes 5 minutes. Stupid thing though. Proportions are great and it’s super solid.
Only Metal Build I could see myself ever getting is the Gold Frame AMC or mayyybe Crossbone. Definitely agree that this one doesn't really have a lot of "wow" factor.
short and sweet review. would have liked to hear you waffle on a little longer but your time is always appreciated. How about doing some more Berserk videos? love hearing you talk about things you're passionate about.
I hope you can review the recent moshow progenitor effect series metal builds. Now, that's some metal build! Paint job near perfection (for me, as far as mass production goes), lots of accessories, gimmicks, magnetic base, led, even comes with trading cards and manga lol. And, BIG! 1/72
As much as I like the Hi Nu I don’t think I could justify spending that much cash on this kit the only time I might make an exception to spend that much on a kit would be if they released a Zaku 1 Commander Type or Amuro’s Jeddah
But the most important where you got that configuration is learn to appreciate the quality of the figuring? Yeah the funnels are going to be tough sucker? But I guess the choices you want to display them flying, or just attach them to the wings and display it
@@obicross Most metal builds are only about 7 inches tall (usually closer to 6.7), which is between 1/100 and 1/144. EDIT: I think 1/144s are around to 5.5 or so and 1/100s are around 12 inches. This is my estimate from the top of my head since I'm not at home to measure some of them.
Damn shame. I was considering one but honestly if I have a MG Hi-ν ver Ka and the means to paint it it'd probably be more satisfying to paint and decal it up tbh.
@@obicross yes. Some third party company is making a plastic version of the yjl hi nu with a die-cast frame and a prepainted hyper mega bazooka (for the deluxe edition). ETA is around the end of December iirc
Yeah I agree, I would take Exia PG over this one. I do see the appeal of the Metal Builds series in general but for Hi-Nu, it is very similar to the Ver. Ka. Might as well paint the inner frame of Ver Ka's metallic and with some light painting on the outer frames you might get the same look (if not better).
>first DVD is Char's Counter Attack >claims to be weebing before I was born Oh daddy Gundam, if you only knew the glory of watching bootleg raws on VHS of Victory Gundam while it was airing in Japan. Also agree on your assessment of Metal Builds, would honestly rather get a couple of nice kits instead. Look good, just not for me.
I think the only appeal to a metal build is just being a finished product out of the box. The models always have more gimmicks and are a blank canvass of details you'll fill in, so you are trading the experience of working a model for buying an experience you've experienced in media elsewhere. Though I suppose the metal builds that are exclusively metal builds and not kits have an appeal in being able to fill a shelve. Like, say, will MG Snow White ever be a thing? I guess Ver Ka Wing Zero gives some hope to that, but, also, maybe never, so that (600 now$?) becomes an alternative.
it looks like a master grade with an aftermarket metal frame and ething parts. Thanks for the honest review. i agree with you, for the money the paint kind of says "i'm worth about $120"
And for those people who thinks Mobile Suit Gundam is a Transformer serious no it's not! Both of them have a different quality series, one is a living being robot in disguise, the other is just a mobile armor that comes with a pilot
Only Nu I like is the original .... The Fin Funnel was unique in its original placement. This ones placement just screams plain. But the inner frame looks nice.
Let me guess, nothing fits good, hands suck and broke, something on the wing things broke, it can't hold a pose, it's back/front/whatever heavy, colors are bad, gimmicks break and fall off.
Eh not quite. Everything fits decent except that f'ing fin funnels, and only few of them (that i have to cut few parts) nothing broken so far and i was quite rough with it. Hands are fine too, some is hard to change but my other metal build is like that, and its not from the same company. Colors are actually fine, the paint tho? The usual, easy to chip and the qc varied so much. Mine is rather fine. Gimmicks are fine too. Working as intended. Overall it was, okay. Looks damn cool sure. But compared to my moshow tkd shingen, its kinda sad, price wise, qc, and feature. If its only a lot cheaper, its no brainer

I honestly think the older purple design of the Hi nu is better than the new blue one, and this build shows
Your review videos are great. You could make these 20 minutes long and I would watch them on repeat.
Same. Whenever he does hobby videos, they seem so peaceful
this is just a rant not liking the metal build😂

Comment for the algorithm Gunpla Crack !

Would you get the same results if you sprayed the grey parts with a gun metal paint on a regular model kit?
My first dvd was CCA as well. Though I did borrow my friend’s VHS tapes of G Gundam before then.
As much as I like the Hi Nu I don’t think I could justify spending that much cash on this kit the only time I might make an exception to spend that much on a kit would be if they released a Zaku 1 Commander Type or Amuro’s Jeddah
The good news is that you can get the RG Hi Nu for a much lower price. Even if you don't paint it, it's still an amazing kit.
Always good to see. Time for me to go back to posting builds and paint work on TikTok.
Excuse my ignorance, but are you supposed to be able to see daylight between the two halves of a fin funnel?
Great review! I've never done a metal build before and this is full of great info to know.
Thanks man. I miss your reviews.

Weebing before I was born?
Laughs in Yamato and Harlock. I made a 3' long Yamato out of deadass, normal LEGO in the 70's.
Lol, that closing statement is my exact mindset on this hobby. This is why prefer Master Grades moreso than any 1/144 scale gunpla
Wait, you telling me this metal build is 1/144 sized?

I'm just waiting to pair this with the Metal-Build Hyper Mega Bazooka Launcher. Everyone else's opinions can go out the door.
Just got into the hobby, I should have heeded the warnings regarding plastic crack!
It's a toy, and it's not a bad thing. No one ever whenever I go to gunpla showcase says, "Wow, it looks real"

considering the yjl ver is getting a hi res treatment where its all plastic with a metal frame like the judge, id say YJL all the way
Really? Is it confirmed?

Im in Japan right now and Otachu has this for $183. Steal or unreal?
Bro last video intro song name please????
When i first seen this i really was wanting it, but after this review... I'm content with my MG 1/100 Ver.ka.
I saw this at a local store for $270, But I'll stick to my RG in the backlog

its a gundam!!!
i can get this for under 200, but what is the chinese kit he mentioned? anyone have a link to it?
Where did you find this under 200
Also the kit hes talking about is the Yujiaoland Hi Nu resin kit, it takes a ton of skill and time to complete.
Well my friend you're not the only one was born watching Mobile Suit Gundam Char's Counterattack? Also I got one my own metal build Hi-v Gundam too!

I think for most fans, the MG Ver Ka and/or the RG version of the RX-93-ν2 Hi-ν Gundam is sufficient.
@xxnike629xx Speaking of, have you already successfully sold your RG Hi-Nu and the HBML add-on you are selling in your eBay?
@xxnike629xx If NOT, I think you will only be able to sell them if you did not put overpriced tags onto them
@xxnike629xx And you did not do certain things onto your customers

I'd build it if it weren't so bloody expensive
I think it's time for an update on Bob it'sagunpla Ross. You have had time to gather more confidence in teaching in your style.
METAL BUILDS ARE FOR HANDSOME GUYS😅
I never like polkadot on Hi Nu Shield. IDk why Bandai keep doing it even MG Hi Nu ver ka have big ugly watersheet decal of it.
Shield looks like it has got mold on it. Lol, wtf is that design
that was short and sweet.... unexpected
👍
I feel the same i rather buy a kit then a metal build unless the metal build was of a suit that doesnt have a kit, like the Xamel or Airies
Yeah stick to your flimsy fragile model kits😂
Well, that's because it is a glorified toy.

I can't paint to save my life so any kit has to be prepainted.
