Top Tip: When you have finished unblocking pipe and you're pulling all the cable out of pipe into drum - wipe the cable with a rag as it's coming out. Otherwise the drum will fill up with evil smelling cack after a few jobs. Another great vid, PB. Please keep them coming.
just take it outside, pull the drain plug. Then loosen the 3 screws holding the cover on and pull the whole snake thing out and hose it off. They have a video on this.
Nicely done. I was busting my balls cleaning out a pipe with vinegar and baking soda then just a snake and finally cleared, then someone told me about this. I just bought one and unboxed it and figured somebody made a video on how to use it. Your video is much better than the manufacturers so thank you!
My foot switch went bad after a few use. I by-passed it internally. now I control it with the side switch. a hose clamp around the F-R trigger will keep you from having to hold it for a long time. As the cable moves slow.
Thank you, I bought the same device to unblock the waste pipe in my bathroom. Your video helped a lot and it is indeed satisfying when the blockage clears 👍 The only issue I had was with the guide hose disconnecting from the machine while in use and the wire wrapped around itself so I will probably reinforce the connection with a jubilee clip next time.
Thanks man!!! My wife is a manager at a fancy golf course, and I do alot of work there. Im a very handy guy, but plumbing scares me a little. They have a clogged drain in their kitchen, and are tired of paying hundreds of dollars for each service fall to unclog their drains. They want me to buy this for them. Ill probably end up snaking this drain in their kitchen, but im terrified that i'll end up getting stuck when this this thing is 10 feet into the pipe! This video was a huge help! Thanks! Ill let you know if i had to tear any walls or floors apart!
Love these! I had a k45af until the cable pigtailed after 2 years of use, need to get a new cable but seeing how tidy and compact these are i might have to give one of these a try!
Always look forward in watching your new update videos, appreciate your time and making theses videos for fast tracking our learning experience . Most guys learning on the tools I guarantee won't see anywhere near in what you show us, which has helped me to develop as a plumber. All I have is the ro pump rotherberger and if this fails and I can't shift the blockage either by draining rods I lose out on the job and dynorod are called to the rescue which means I'm still covered in crap and don make a bean and I lose out on income. but having a tool like the ridgid would mean I could fulfill all blockages on my own without the need for a draining company. 1 year and 4 months! started on my own and it's hard and tough and expensive but satisfying when you do a good job! Keep up your videos! Everyday is a Skool day!
I had an old rigid sink machine. I used to take all of the cable out and clean it out in the yard. Then wipe some transmission fluid down the cable. They do rust up pretty good.
Always enjoy watching your videos mate and love how humble you are and how you go out your way to do your best and help people out. You are an inspiration, keep up the good work 👍
I just bought and used one of thse. Much better than the hand crank units and looks like it did the job. My biggest complaint is that one of the bearings in the nozzle control thing came out. luckily it fell on the floor right in front of me and not down the drain. I was able to replace it, but i don't trust these anymore.
What an awesome bit of kit ! So simple in design but so effective! Definalty need to add one of these to my kit ! And I know your thinking electrician ?? As a maintenance engineer I turn my hand to anything that will pay the Bill's!food waste disposals are a personal favourite in commercial kitchens etc , waste disposal macerators in hospital wards ! This would make life so much easier than the manual ones we use , or the electric hand ripper one !!
I have a drain cleaner handheld no power . I been cleaning my kitchen sink 10 + times. I’m planning on just going power . So this video helps me think. Last week I was trying only to clean my kitchen sink it took me 4 days of pain . My drain snake cleaner was only 25 ft . No power it was a pain spinning it by hand
I have a manual one which works in the exact same way except it doesn’t have motor that spins it, got me out of a few situations. This looks like a great bit of kit 👍
To get it through that trap, feed it til it stops, then put it in reverse, then press the reverse hand switch, then air switch. It will spin in reverse but go forward spinning backwards. Then when it gets through the trap follow the directions to go forward again. Hope that makes sense.
Looks like a good bit of kit, can always expect good quality from Ridgid, I always remember these things looking so confusing to me when I was an apprentice for some reason 😂
I use a machine like this every day here in Texas. great machine . u will get uses to it , once u figure out how to use it efficiently u will be able to make a lot of quick money with it running drain calls. my bread and butter calls.
Good bit if kit these, i do drainagecand plumbing and use the ridgid k9102 for upto 1 1/2" and this looks much easier at a quarter of the price, Some good money in drain clearing 👌
Just a though but have you tried reversing the rotation whilst feeding it forwards to allow it to pass through the 90 bend. never used one before but it looks like the sharp point is inhibiting it from passing through the 90 bend.
Seems to be one of the top options for a sink size machine. Anyway if a person had one of these and a K-750 or K-7500 for main lines, you could likely tackle most things.
like the other guy how do you think it would do with push fit fittings do you think it would push them apart solvent would be fine whats your thoughts on this great vids like them loads
i have an old ridgid top snake with a quarter inch, or five sixteenth cable, i cut out the pig tail, and run it over the top of kitchen and lavies, i only drop plumbing when its back to back fixtures
If you do drains all the time it would be a good investment but for the odd time i do a blockage ill stick with my trusty drain snake that fits on a cordless drill , it does the job just fine for a quarter of the cost of that baby.....Nice review as always PB . Cheers
PB, I think what you are calling 'reverse' is actually a faster speed. If you listen to the rpm when you press it, it seems higher as if it were spinning faster. This theory also goes hand in hand with you saying the manufacturer recommends you don't use this function often, as if it could potentially damage pipework more easily? I don't know, I could be wrong. It maybe looks and sounds different in person. Keep up the brill videos mate.
What is your opinion 4 yrs later?? I have one and they are junk. Rusted cable, feed drivers falling off, Cable continues to knot up inside the spool. I do not even try to use it anymore.

Best video on this product hands down. Thanks for everything.

Have struggled on a few blocked drains where this would definitely have helped. Thanks again for the vid PB

Quality bit of kit. I'm still using My late father's Stilsons.

Have started as an Apprentice Plumber, this would be a good start to the Tool Kit. Keep up the videos PB!
Nice. I have one of those manual ones and have used it a few times. It's all rusty now and I'm gonna have to get a new one of those soon.
Thanks for taking the time to put this review video together.
Seems like a good bit of kit. Ideal really. Rigid are top quality too. Would love a tool like that, cost is the limiting factor. Great vid 👍

Looks class, would be great to start looking forward to doing some drainage 😁🤢
Spot on vid, I do lose out on money getting drain people in because my little snake can’t cut it 😂
Snap!! I got one for the exact same reason. Letting agents keep asking me to help out with blocked drains & I needed to up my game
I have a manual one which works in the exact same way except it doesn’t have motor that spins it, got me out of a few situations. This looks like a great bit of kit 👍
Hi Tyler Do you have this one? That you attach to drill? RIDGID 57043 Power Spin with AUTOFEED, Maxcore Drain Cleaner Cable, and Bulb Drain Auger
Looks like a good bit of kit and cheaper than I’d have expected 👍🏻
Looks awesome, would look nice in my van and an upgrade from the Rothenberger power plunger.👊🤞

Ya or put a slight bend on the end and run it exactly how you said 90 percent success rate haha
Great vid PB. When people ring about blocked wastes I normally pass the work on but wouldn’t if I had one of these bad boys.
Looks like a good bit of kit, can always expect good quality from Ridgid, I always remember these things looking so confusing to me when I was an apprentice for some reason 😂
Quality bit of kit😍😍 love to add this to my arsenal

Good review mate. Looks a handy bit of kit and not a massive price tag.
Looks a good bit of kit. Would fancy trying one.
Decided not to go for the premium smartvan racking. Just have to be jealous of yours haha. Great vid.
Would love one of these for those awkward jobs, looks good
Wicked bit of kit that is Pete ! Would love to have a go with one of those
Awesome! Really like it and a great piece of kit with a good explanation

Awesome video Pete, and nice bit of kit keep it up 👍🏻
Would be a great upgrade from the manual one I use, and a welcome addition to my van 👌🏼
Really handy bit of kit 👌🏻! Great video pb
Assuming it’s not the kinda thing you use often. Yet when it’s offloaded from the van it’s a god send
Looks like a good bit of kit to have on the van .
another great video and looks like a nice bit of kit.
Would you be comfortable using it on push fit waste pipes bearing in mind the pipes and fittings are hidden?
looks like a great tool ,have you used it again and would you recommend??
Put a slight bend on the end of the cable makes it easier to go past those bends !
Looks great mate! Love to have a go with it! :D
Awesome vid mate, same as you I've always wondered how these work. Got a job that this will be perfect for 👍
Great bit of kit👍🏼
Game changer, add a camera feed and a screen on it and it would be next level
Great Job Mate. 🥰
How easy did it clean up or did you just wipe it down before winding it in?
Got one today your video was very helpful
Looks like a good bit of kit
Can the 1/4" snake be replaced with one that is 5/16" thick?

adam willoughby you could be right mate that makes sense to me
That hard gust of wind out of nowhere was spoky
Really interesting video. Thanks for producing & posting.
Another spot on review PB 👍
I'd love to win this. I've never won Jack Sh**. Looks like a decent bit of kit.
Looks spot on👍
Been looking at these useful kit 😎
I am a self employed plumber in Central New York since 2001. Can I use this machine for commercial and daily use?
What is your opinion 4 yrs later?? I have one and they are junk. Rusted cable, feed drivers falling off, Cable continues to knot up inside the spool. I do not even try to use it anymore.
Nice bit of kit, our company could do with one on the vans
Great video buddy 👍 keep up the good work,
Looks a real handy kit. Have you done any uploads on the admin side? Accounting software, invoicing chasing invoices etc.
Nice Video PB, Keep it up!!
id worry using that on push fit fittings, not so bad on glued
I have one and I hate it. It doesn’t work right, gets stuck in the drum, it binds or gets wound up on it’s self.
thanks for the upload, looks easy to use.
Another brilliant video pb
looks very handy, would love to win:)
Would love an upgraded sani snake my old has had it.
How can i crash the cement from the long drain line underground?
Another good video 👍 👏
