Jason, you are getting better and better at describing all of this every time you talk about it. I've watched pretty much everything you've ever produced on the topic of btc. You will be remembered for your foresight and your name will go down in the history books. I realize it may seem as though you aren't making much headway when you keep saying the same thing over and over in similar ways, but please know that you in fact are reaching more and more people each time you speak, and each time you refine your ability to reach people with your words. It ain't easy being this far ahead of the curve, but you play an incredibly important role of bridging the future with the present.
Well said - I don’t understand all the hate Jason gets. He has been incredible in this space and made us all realize that Bitcoin is a shilling point, whether you want it to be or not. Onwards.
You are an amazing man, Jason. How hard it must be for you to know what you know and be saddled with the burden of trying to enlighten calcified minds. You are of epic, historic importance, I’m honoured to be able to listen to you. Please don’t give up what you’re trying to do. And thank you. Thanks to you too Rob for everything you’re doing for the future of mankind. Praying for you both 🙏🏼❤️
A masterpiece in the making @JasonPLowery . I pray for the Command Staff to integrate your strategy into Defense and national policy for America and the world 🌎!
This is some Bitcoin level information here. Only the best. Listening to Jason is like listening to the physical laws of the world keeping you in check.
Truly blown away from start to finish. I have been so hard on myself over the past couple years because I do not understand why everyone is so docile. Even if they do see the systemic issues with fiat and this helped me understand it and I feel like this video & the format of physical vs abstract could be the way that we orange pill the masses. Thank you both.
It’s criminal this video series doesn’t have more views. It’s truly mind blowing and highlights an incredible perspective that is being ignored by many (including bitcoiners). Thank you, Jason and Robert - please keep fighting the good fight.
The last time you had him on it was mind blowing mate!! It was an amazing series, I loved it! The way you two think resonates with me! Thanks for everything you're doing for us Robert, it's really appreciated. Cheers
Proof Of Real. Most important idea I’ve heard in years. Mind blowing discussion. Evolving your Ted Talk skills every time I hear this material presented. Thanks to both of you.
the f***ing best video in many months. not only it helps noobs to live through bear market by developing low time preference holding bitcoin, but also helps to raise personal awareness for every individual how real life and society are built since centuries and millenias! Jason, i pray you will be heard!
AWESOME presentation Jason, and Robert!!!!!! Expanding greatly on the key insight in Davidson & Mees-Rogg's 1997 "The Sovereign Individual", about the diminishing returns to violence catalyzed by massive technological advances. As Jason so earnestly pleads, starting at about 2:05:08, we're SO close to achieving a gigantic step-change in humanity's development: “We can achieve something that doesn’t cause physical injury, and we get to a point (sorry) that ___ [Proof-of- ?] Stake is (pro?)(re?)gression. We’re right there. We’re so close to figuring it out. And scaling this [zooming out?] globally - to go back to the world of Stake, to go back to this belief that the use of physical power to establish pecking order is bad, just because it uses injury - it’s so scary and it’s so sad because God! we’re just right there, and all it will take is a couple more ppl to see it; and we could dramatically restructure human society, and escape from this agrarian prison that we’ve been in for the last ten thousand years! But you can’t condemn the use of Watts, you can’t condemn ppl who use physical power. And so when I get all this shit on Twitter for being part of the active military, and when ppl shit all over you know, the military-industrial complex; it’s like, you don’t understand from the systemic perspective, you’re making the same anti-PoW argument that PoS ppl do. How can I figure out a way to actually explain this in a way that ppl can understand so that we don’t … because like, the other alternative is war. There IS no replacement for physical power for settling disputes in a fair way, in a meritocrous [meritocratic] way; there will never be a replacement for physical power for determining control authority over resources. There is no replacement for physical power for achieving FAIR consensus on the legitimate state of chain-of-custody of ANY form of property. There ARE no replacements. We’ve tried, and it NEVER works! It’s a demonstrable failure.”
The only other human I’ve seen moved to tears by his yearning to help people help themselves is Peterson. Jason you’re making a difference, keep going.
Jason...you are not wrong! It is heartening for me to know that an intellect like Jason's exists and has focused his considerable energies into forming, and elucidating, the "Monetary Unified Field Theory". I am almost 70 years old and I have seen all of the "dots" but have be unable to see the relationships between these dots....Jason is illuminating the implications of real power (POW) vs abstract power, where abstractions (POS) inevitably lead to abuse, misinformation and war where the expenditure of real physical power is the sole means of ensuring that POW systems can be configured , via real power expenditures, to ensure that the benefit to cost ratio is prohibitively low. Sadly politicians spin their own abstractions and hitch their carts to these fictions of the imagination. Helping them to truly see that POW is the only viable way forward, not based on abstractions, will define your legacy. Thank you,
PoS= abstract reality PoW= objective reality Thank you, Jason and Robert for highlighting this to the masses. This podcast series is incredibly profound 🤯
PoW = objective reality but everything that is real is not power. I could burn 1 million dollars "proof of work aka proof of waste", but that doesnt' make me more powerful than someone who used that 1 million dollars to secure his home, buy weapons, and security systems.. The latter is real power, the proof of waste protocol is not power. That's why Ethereum will win out, because blockchain can never be real power, it is always forever an abstraction, therefore, dump the pretension of power and go full on abstract. no need to "waste electricity" if you have no Real power to show from it, you just have a hash or a certificate of proof that you burned a lot of money/electricity. Jason gets the power projection thesis right, but it simply does not apply to any blockchain technology. That is what blows a hole in this thesis. First premise is good, but failed conclusion in the second part.
The Jason Lowery series reminded me of the James Burke book/show "Connections" with the added evolution of prognostication and prediction. Absolutely mind-blowing stuff!
Jason, keep on keeping on Jason. I love hearing you speak and agree whole-heartedly that the power is NOT distributed evenly and does not benefit the whole.
The whole thing is amazing and a must-watch, but from the 2:03:00 to 2:08:00, that was the most compelling anti-war sentiment I've ever seen from a person in the military. In the end, we're all just humans trying to sort out power structure with the least amount of death.
Absolutely love the Jason Lowery Series. I always learn something new and make connections that weren't established before. Keep up the great work, we're hungry for more!!
Does using abstract thought or imagination to construct a future scenario influence the outcome once put into action? As in the consistent visualization of an event actually helps influence its outcome? Yes it does! Fascinating!
wow this episode gained momentum the entire way!!... it just took off like a rocket... particularly one with a larger payload at the top due to preheating the rocket fuel and achieving 20% more power to move 20% more mass upwards while attaining escape velocity. 😎😍😁 u the man J!
Jason, No doubt, within a cultural circumscribed group of humans, the use of external watts to create soft power to secure safety and collective use of 'proof-of-work' resources, is emergent and welcomed. Kudos on your analysis. Eventually, you may include in your thesis the awareness that each human creates their own watts as well. Personal soft power is best summoned then, with the practice of allowing the power of presence(the now) to emerge from within( a whole other topic). Good luck with your persuasive acumen at your meetings in Washington. A suggestion...remember, "they" are mindsetted in the current system. Appeal to their sense of retaining power but in a new system...not easy to do.
Inspiring talk. Much food for thoughts but also some gaps here. For example, after introducing the dichotomy between imaginary and "real" world, he says: "...for ideological reasons, for reasons that do not physically exist humans believe that's morally bad to project physical power to establish control authority over resources." By his own definition, we humans understand that projecting physical power is risky (thus planning etc), injurious and energy demanding. It is defined by our physicality and survival instinct that we desire to preserve energy, to survive and minimise the risk of getting injured or being killed (abstract power projection is literally parallel to evolution of our species as beings whose primal instinct is to avoid injury and spending energy to survive). There is literally nothing ideological or imaginary about it. I understand the reasoning behind dying or suffering for ideological reasons being a fact and strangely not understood by some (too many) people , i.e. those reasons being imaginary and not embedded in reality but seriously don't we want to eliminate suffering by using as little physical power projection as possible in general (when talking about war)? Btw, it would be really really strange to justify abstract power projection over the physical one when it is coming from someone working for the biggest exporter of war in the world. PS: I am a Bitcoiner and really like Jason and Robert and want his theory to be bullet proof but there are some logical gaps there (not talking about the moral ones).
There's nothing impressive about ASIC powered PoW of Bitcoin. The rich gets richer, just like fiat. It'll be different if Bitcoin changed to ASIC-resistant PoW.
Appreciate the discussions Robert and Jason. So abstract power has been used for thousands of years and arguably the reason humans have been able too evolve to this point (obviously with power struggles based on these abstraction), and the argument is that even though 99% of humanity has used this form of thinking, proof of stake will fail because people will turn to physical power instead? Sounds quite regressive and improbable to go against human evolution, but will be interesting to see how it all plays out :). I would argue that bitcoin is an abstract form of power as it relies on peoples' continued belief. It is not autonomous and primal in it's actions, it needs people or machines that people create to interact with it, just like other forms of technology.
I get what you are saying. I don't understand his argument about staking being a result of imaginary action as per ranking does not ground in reality therefore POS is imaginary when staking is actually just some have got more resources than others not dissimilar from an expression of physical strength or intelligence. I have to say, he introduces very compelling ideas but there are some things that don't add up. Or I don't understand fully. Also, as you say, bitcoin needs software which is imaginary. Ok, computers are physical. See my comment regarding the dichotomy between imaginary and "real" world, he says: "...for ideological reasons, for reasons that do not physically exist humans believe that's morally bad to project physical power to establish control authority over resources." By his own definition, we humans understand that projecting physical power is risky (thus planning etc), injurious and energy demanding. It is defined by our physicality and survival instinct that we desire to preserve energy, to survive and minimise the risk of getting injured or being killed. I guess he's saying that we are limited by our physicality and physical projection of power remains the most effective and superior to the abstract one? But is that even truth when everything is controlled by a SW these days? Even bitcoin is an algorithm.
The problem people struggle with is the misconception that spiritual reality is less severe than physical reality. When in reality spiritual reality is more severe than physical reality. Physical reality imposes boundaries on behavior that people who operate in spiritual reality think they can escape, but the nature of physical reality comes from spiritual reality, so the consequences of violating the boundaries or the constraints of spiritual reality are far more severe than those of violating physical reality.
So in a nutshell, abstractions defer and amplify the inevitable physical power projection, while direct proof of work is more costly on a consistent basis but ensures that the cream rises to the top and optimizes self organization?
If I’ve understood this correctly I would tend to agree, however, we cannot ignore that our innate capacity to project power has been skewed by previous eras of abstraction which has forever altered any chance of true meritocracy. For example, the majority of Bitcoin a person has or the mining rig(s) they are able to deploy has been acquired via fiat currency. But again, all we can do is start from where we are…
51:10 you can get that effect by endlessly repeating a word to yourself, at some point you get that exact feeling where the word just stops to have meaning
53:44 the kids playing analogy is exactly the way I see most people going about their lives, but then again, its all subjective, they can see me the same way
Question=Do you think one of the reasons regarding the battle of Gettysburg remark you mentioned was because it was a civil war battle? Maybe because they were fighting their own people so to speak? Was the 80% all guns found, both sides combined? Or more from one side than the other etc? That would be very interesting to find out I reckon! Let's say if they were invaders from another country, would that statistic still be true? You'd think if your country was being invaded that 80% of your soldiers wouldn't miss use their weapons on purpose? You'd think hey? Not sure, I'm not an expert. Love your thoughts though? I'm not from America, so I don't know shit about that war, but found that a very interesting fact indeed. Thanks for your time, really appreciated. Cheers
I am interested in the contrast between Lowery's perspective that only palpable physical objects can be relied on for security, and a belief that I've had for a while now, which is, "Everything is real," meaning that thoughts, emotions, rules, beliefs, biases, etc., are all part of the same universe that physical objects are in, and therefore are just as real as physical objects. Isn't "Both A and B, to some extent" more robust than "Only A and none of B?"
Jason as he said, is materialist in his approach, he is an engineer after all. I am more inclined to your way of thinking or rather say "perceiving" things and experiencing life through complex of senses, emotions, beliefs, thoughts and biases.
I don't know why this bothers me, but I can't stop looking at the 2 wires just hangin out for no reason and it's driving me crazy. What is going on over there? Yes I agree move to pos is stupid as hell and this was a great conversation despite my tortured brain wondering about loose wires. I don't know why I'm so obsessive about things like that. My brain just won't let it go for some weird reason. Sometimes I think I drive myself crazy for no other reason than I can I guess I don't know what's wrong with me.
Stake physically exists about as much as the solution to a prime factorization problem. Eth agrees to operate based on POS while Btc agrees to operate based on POW. Neither POW nor POS can force anyone to do anything. But, POS is capable of supporting higher value than POW, because as BTC goes higher in price, it costs exponentially more to operate.
anyone else think it's funny that proof of work is P.O.W. which spells pow which is the block in mario that makes all the coins drop down to you and proof of stake is P.O.S. which spells piece of shit and takes us always into a living hell. 🤔
Jason Lowery, you know, millions of people already realized that participating in the enslavement of animals with the same pain as us is not good and stopped doing that. It might have been inevitable before, but know you provably can.
1:51:30 the production of the physical computer which then runs the program validates the reality of the affordances Ada was responding to when she wrote the algorithm in the physical absence of the structure that her work corresponded to. Physical work proved the integrity of her abstract work, which validates those abstractions she was as congruent with the work of (in this particular area) to 'program' physics...
The Gold standard is " proof of work" whereas fiat, brandishing a dollar bill is proof of stake, claiming a stake in the future effectiveness of the government.
Did Gigi watch this? Jason is trying to explain to the white house how important this is. I will say Jason needs to work on his language. This conversation connects so many dots.
you guys laugh about Vitalik's comment, but i believe because of the single fact that is virtual and lets you do whatever you want, might have some appeal to central banks/governments. sounds a bit like Austrian school of economics vs Keynesians

Comparing PoS system to monarchy system was brilliant ! Please continue with this series together !

Outstanding discussion!! Keep it up guys 😎
Off the chart dialogue! Fabulous content…thanks guys!
Our pleasure! 🙏
Jason, keep on keeping on Jason. I love hearing you speak and agree whole-heartedly that the power is NOT distributed evenly and does not benefit the whole.

Excellent content. My only hope is that it reaches those who need it the most, before it is too late. And the clock is ticking.
Absolutely incredible content. Only complaint, record with a bit more volume because I don't want to miss a thing!
Beyond brilliant!

Wow. Just when you thought you were getting it, your mind gets blown again.
"Using words, we shall replace physics!"
Good luck Vitalik.
🤌🏼this🤌🏼
Wow. Such an important discussion. The thoughts being espoused blow my mind.
holy shit this interview is so good. I wish everyone would see this
Thanks for this. What I learned from this... PoS is like protecting yourself with law, and PoW is like protecting yourself with a gun.
i'm blown away...it totally sets my mind in a differenr direction

Inspiring talk. Much food for thoughts but also some gaps here. For example, after introducing the dichotomy between imaginary and "real" world, he says: "...for ideological reasons, for reasons that do not physically exist humans believe that's morally bad to project physical power to establish control authority over resources." By his own definition, we humans understand that projecting physical power is risky (thus planning etc), injurious and energy demanding. Appreciate the discussions Robert and Jason. Cheers
2:05:00 the emotions are real
Lmao looking for new lowery vid and this was uploaded 53min ago.
Eloquently expounding many vague notions I've struggled to put into words.
This guy is so beautiful. His thinking
try to bring jason on once a week or so
My greatest happiness is the $9,840 biweekly profit I get consistently
I still want to know what is better outside of the POW vs POS. But what is better POS vs Wall st vs Fenscent
Isn’t proof of stake basically the similar thing as fractionalized banking, which we are in?
Sorry to take this from 420 to 421 ✌️🧡
John von Neumann was Hungarian not Austrian?
Yes!
It’s a crime that this has only been viewed 7k times…
Fascinating discussion: at 69 I have become a Donald Hoffman devotee. It's all " PERCEPTION".
Amazing
"feed them off their own slave labour" cold hard truth
Jason looks like he’s been locked in his basement for 6 months 😂 😂
The sign of a man who is truly living his work lol he is an unbelievable mind. Glad he found bitcoin.
Lmeow
Basement = the bawls of langley…they don’t let that Young man go far these days… not to worry it’s for the best…🍊💊🇺🇸=🍊💊🌎

"Stake is regression." - nuff said
I don't know why this bothers me, but I can't stop looking at the 2 wires just hangin out for no reason and it's driving me crazy. What is going on over there? Yes I agree move to pos is stupid as hell and this was a great conversation despite my tortured brain wondering about loose wires. I don't know why I'm so obsessive about things like that. My brain just won't let it go for some weird reason. Sometimes I think I drive myself crazy for no other reason than I can I guess I don't know what's wrong with me.
its artwork on the wall
Stake physically exists about as much as the solution to a prime factorization problem. Eth agrees to operate based on POS while Btc agrees to operate based on POW. Neither POW nor POS can force anyone to do anything. But, POS is capable of supporting higher value than POW, because as BTC goes higher in price, it costs exponentially more to operate.
Please do your own research, before talking, you make yourself look foolish.

you got it wrong ... as it costs exponentially more to operate, BTC goes higher in price. Not the other way around.
"cyber powder" Nice slip actually when you think about it.
2:05:05 Wow!
The birds that flash their wings and colours do so because that's all they've got.
Helllll yes
anyone else think it's funny that proof of work is P.O.W. which spells pow which is the block in mario that makes all the coins drop down to you and proof of stake is P.O.S. which spells piece of shit and takes us always into a living hell. 🤔
Jason Lowery, you know, millions of people already realized that participating in the enslavement of animals with the same pain as us is not good and stopped doing that. It might have been inevitable before, but know you provably can.
Folder of time
1:51:30 the production of the physical computer which then runs the program validates the reality of the affordances Ada was responding to when she wrote the algorithm in the physical absence of the structure that her work corresponded to. Physical work proved the integrity of her abstract work, which validates those abstractions she was as congruent with the work of (in this particular area) to 'program' physics...
Genius
The Gold standard is " proof of work" whereas fiat, brandishing a dollar bill is proof of stake, claiming a stake in the future effectiveness of the government.
Did Gigi watch this? Jason is trying to explain to the white house how important this is. I will say Jason needs to work on his language. This conversation connects so many dots.
If you could only imagine.
I'm not sure but I think Jason just said he was smarter than you Robert! 👀 1:08:00
you guys laugh about Vitalik's comment, but i believe because of the single fact that is virtual and lets you do whatever you want, might have some appeal to central banks/governments. sounds a bit like Austrian school of economics vs Keynesians
