    Excellent video. Some people have complained about your two-part video scheme, but this video here showed me everything I need to know about this scooter: the seat, adjustable handlebar stem, two 1200-watt motors, good speed, self-sealing tires. This scooter looks like the best option at the moment if I were to replace my Emove Cruiser. Of course, I look forward to the full review, but what you presented here is plenty for a first-ride review. Keep up the good work.

    I've had the USA Solar P1 Pro (4000w) for several months and have been quite happy with it with a top speed of ~ 50 MPH. I opted not to get the tron light just because it adds to the height of the deck a bit.

      That's an impressively long list! Unfortunately we've never tested any of those.
      Your comment made me curious though, so I just made a whole new spreadsheet and plotted the claimed vs actual top speeds of all >150 scooters we've tested.
      Of the scooters we've tested, which are mainly well-known brands, the difference we see between "claimed" top speeds and actual tested top speeds is +/- 10%. So, one scooter which claims a 40mph top speed actually went 44.0 mph and the lowest performer with a 40mph spec went 36.1 mph, (again, these are mostly well known brands).
      So, claimed and measured top speeds are often very different. I would love to see data (especially two-direction speed runs to cancel out headwind, tailwind and small inclines) on these other scooters.
      One of the things that makes it so hard to know how fast they really go is that a small 4mph headwind or tailwind can make an 8mph difference when doing a speed run one with the wind, vs against the wind. So that's why even "GPS" speed runs on RUclips aren't that meaningful, if they only do the run in one direction.

    Can't wait for this Paul i have had my 2.0 since February as i commute daily now sitting at 3125 miles in the clock i can comfortably say this is a serious piece of kit but i am now looking at the ff light 2.0 with the new screen and twist throttle. Solar has made the 3.0 closer to the EQ now for less money, and options that the EQ doesn't have (TRON lights, seat, fingerprint starter). There are differences (styling, hydraulic brakes vs disc) but there is less to distinguish the two now. Solar will have to upgrade the EQ.

      I'm surprised how close these two models are (P1 3.0 and EQ) in price and performance! Now the biggest difference is the appearance (I think the EQ is a better looking scooter) and the stem latch (I also prefer the EQ stem latch, but the P1's latch is growing on me). -Paul

      @ESG-ElectricScooterGuide  7 месяцев назад +4

      I really really really wanted to get the full review out before Black Friday. That was definitely the plan, but unfortunately the First Look was all we could get done in time. I haven't fully analyzed the performance data yet, but my feeling is that the base model P1 3.0 is almost identical (if anything very slightly better) than the P1 2.0 provided that the 2.0 has the optional display which includes sinewave controllers which is how we tested the 2.0 for the review we did a while back). The 3.0 is also super super similar to the EQ other than the look and the stem latch. So if you watch those two reviews, it will get you 90% of what will be in the P1 3.0 review! I definitely plan to take the seat of when I weigh the 3.0 and put that number in the review. I'd tell you the answer now, but I haven't weighed it yet and have the scooter at home with me, and the official scale is back at HQ. -Paul

      It's rated IP54, but really watch out for deep water because if it's deeper than the tires it can get into your motors. Also be watchful of your display. If it starts to fog up when you bring it inside after a ride, then it needs to be dried out ASAP. That goes for the whole scooter too. If it gets wet, it really needs to come inside and have a chance to get warm and dry. Ultimately none of the scooter companies cover water damage, and we haven't tested it against the weather, so definitely have a look for vulnerable spots when you get it. No harm in adding silicone anywhere you think may leak. -Paul

    • @ESG-ElectricScooterGuide
      @ESG-ElectricScooterGuide  7 месяцев назад +4

      Oh wow! That's a great question! The GX1 is also pretty great. Let me open a spreadheet and freshen up my memory!.... ok I'm back, here we go:
      The P1 3.0 is about 8 lbs lighter, way quicker acceleration and almost 10mph faster top speed plus about 6 miles more range.... but the GX1 has nicer suspension, a much cleaner look and all-together more modern build. The P1 3.0 gives you way more ability to tune the throttle and brake response, as well as handlebar height and has more options like the seat. They both have a lot going for them. The look, fit and finish of the GX1 is very nice, but Solar wins on performance per dollar. So it really depends on what the rider is looking for. -Paul
