    its so wild that he and his dad designed one of the most advanced forward-thinking guitars of its time, and that was it. never built another guitar, never marketed the design on his own volition. theres a whole other timeline where May got tired of playing in a band and decided to revolutionize guitar design.

      I have always thought the same. The phase and out of phase switches, the roller bridge. Just figuring out the fret placement alone is impressive. Everything accurate. Great shape also.

    • @joeking433
      @joeking433 Год назад +2

      I don't know about that. In 2005 when he had the zero fret replaced the strings had worn clean through the zero fret! The fretboard was painted black. The pickups were not potted and were microphonic. I think the guitar body was basically plywood.

    • @lorrainecimino8508

      @@joeking433 the neck of Brian's guitar is made out of a piece of old fireplace, the base of the guitar is made from an oak table.

      @@lorrainecimino8508 And your point is? My discussion is about zero frets and how they wear out so quickly from the strings putting divots in the zero fret.

    its really funny how nowadays this is a decently common thing with DIY channels building guitars from scratch, but the amount of thought and care put into the guitar really highlights how smart Brian may really is.

    I am not a guitar nerd but am a Rory Gallagher nerd. So I watched a Brian May interview describing his relationship with Rory. Brian really came across as a nice humble guy. I had followed Queen since their first US album, and had always considered Brian to be top level.
    This was an enjoyable and nerdy video. Thanks.
