There's so much content for this game already that I haven't had the chance to even consume it fully but when I got a tablenauts notification, I HAD to watch it immediately. You guys bring something else and I am here for it.
I already have all of Mythwind, and this game immediately makes me compare the two. Although Tend is competitive and Mythwind continues endlessly. Im hesitant to have two games with similar vibes when itll cost quite a bit.
If you are in the mood for trying one, and you like abstract strategy games, mythic mischief is a good one to choose because of the app! Low buy-in cost.
I'm a backer because it's an IV Studio game (all of which are top notch production). I dont have any x-and-write games. It also looks amazing as a party game. I generally hate party games because thay are always safe and approachable and easy to learn and boring as hell. Tend looks like a game that can break that trend.
I think this game might go the way of the fractured sky kickstarter for me, and have to pass. Still not totally sure, but the timing could not have been worse launching the same day as dice thrones KS which I’m in for. It feels like a game that I’d love to play if anyone suggested it, but wouldn’t ever be too keen to get it to the table myself? Still gotta play on TTS to know for sure though! Favorite IV game for me is moonrakers hands down. Love a deck/engine builder, and the expansions just make it so good
So much love for this game everywhere! If the cost was closer to other blank and writes I would consider it but $70 plus shipping for the color pencil version and $100 for the deluxe marker version is too much for me.
Understandable!! I also debated. This copy is staying with Max, and I ended up caving and backing the deluxe pledge. It’s that great to me, but it might not be for everyone!! - Doolin
I'm in for super deluxe on this IV game, which isn't really a surprise as i have all their games, but this one really allows us ALL to play on game nights. I playtested on TTS and thought it was fabulous!!
I like combo-y games. But there are other games of IV that were tempting me more and I skipped them. So I think I will be fine with skipping this, too. But still thanks for sharing your thoughts.
Sounds like a great game. I’ve never been able to get into stardew valley so the theme doesn’t grab me. Looks like they did a lot of really cool stuff with the genre but wonder if they did enough. I feel like by nature verb and writes seem to just fade out so quick. Twilight inscription is the last example of one that people were talking about but now it’s kind of gone and that was one people complained about the process for a roll and write. But games you all like always get me a little interested
Only time will tell! I’ll say, as someone who was amped about Twilight Inscription and then literally never played it, I think TEND is a much quicker game that lends itself to seeing the table more easily. I’m excited to bring it out again, but it will be interesting to see how well it does in the long run.
Im not sure about this one yet. After watching the ranking video, i think im in the Kenny corner with a bit of Doolin. Everything i have seen, i think my rankings with Tend would be Velied Fate Fractured Sky Moonrollers (likely to go down) Brink (unplayed and regret not at DTE!) Moonrakers Tend (unplayed) Mythic Mischief My worry is the teach but after so many play watches, it feels intuitive now but that first watch burned me. I guess I also don't love how solitary of looks. I like interaction.
Love that we share a love for Veiled Fate!! Yea this one doesn’t have the interaction that previous IV Games have had a lot of. It’s different, but also great (to me- Doolin).
I'm with Doolin on this one. Everything I've seen and heard about Tend make it sound like a game I will absolutely love. I backed it without hesitation the day the campaign launched.
It feels like it would hit the same itch as Planet Unknown. Simple game with a “complex” learn, turn optimization, simultaneous play and a satisfying fidgety game. Love Planet Unknown and was not excited for this…..that’s changed.
Tend is everywhere because IV Studios is basically making marketing through "influencers" to sell their overpriced games...but what it is a premium paper, and premium markers, and premium this and premium that, for only a price of a other premium games.
We were given this game without pay, and could say whatever we want (hence why we each had differing levels of excitement for it). I can’t speak for the rest of Tablenauts, but I played this and loved it enough to be one of the backers behind it. It’s a genuinely great game.
@Tablenauts Sure, but also you have a relationship with IV Studios. Mythic Mischief, Fractured Sky, Moonrakers were all supplied by IV Studios for no cost except for making a content, was it also Vailed Fate...so there is some bias there isn't it? Not to say this about your channel, but that is the IV Studios marketing...and to be honest except maybe for Vailed Fate(this depends on your play group) all others are sub part games for the price (my personal opinion).
@@adukovski this is how a lot of industries work. The hours they put into playing, reviewing, editing, and commenting on their video definitely don't come close to making it worth shilling for an occasional free game. But knowing their thoughts on other similar games and this one, you should be able to deduce how you might like it. However, it is disappointing to see it called a "review." The game isn't finalized and this is a prototype made for a crowdfunding campaign. This is a preview.
@@BrandonGraham sure that is how many industries work, but there are rules for RUclips as well as ethical and moral issues that one needs to do before posting a "paid" content. First, the video is not marked as paid content. Second, there is no where in the video where it was said that they got the game from IV Studios for free (even if we know, due to the KS) to make a content. Third, it is not disclosed that the channel already has relationship with IV Studios and that they have received previously number of games from them to do content. If this is not properly disclosed, then one can assume that those information are hidden because the creators don't want you to know that it is paid marketing, even if it is a "in kind contribution".

😭 this is so kind! We hope you enjoy it!!
Great overview. TEND has been on my radar recently and seems right up my alley. The components really do look fantastic.
Flip n Stamp quite frankly.
😂😂 thanks for being here!! And wish we could play it with you!
Absolutely accidentally clicked on this video and got called out in the first 2 seconds
It's easy to accidentally click when you have those faces in the thumbnail
Always glad to have you here even if by accident! 😂
I already have all of Mythwind, and this game immediately makes me compare the two. Although Tend is competitive and Mythwind continues endlessly. Im hesitant to have two games with similar vibes when itll cost quite a bit.
This is fair! I’m a fan of both (and once my Tend backing comes in I will have both), but this did make me wonder if I need both!
Great video as always gents! Yet, I TEND to love all of your videos😅I haven’t tried any of their games yet, but I really want to!😬

@ thank you for the recommendation!😊

I think playing it on TTS is very smart!! Completely understand. This is a time of year where many enticing kickstarters are getting thrown out there.

Love that you understand! I feel like too many people are judging this too quickly, and will probably miss out

Thanks so much!
Me watching every video about this project which... if it weren't for a no-buy year would be an immediate top tier pledge. Here's hoping for retail!
It definitely will go to retail! 🧡

Me too!!! ❤️ I couldn’t stand only playing it at Max’s house so I backed the deluxe for myself 😂
It feels like it would hit the same itch as Planet Unknown. Simple game with a “complex” learn, turn optimization, simultaneous play and a satisfying fidgety game. Love Planet Unknown and was not excited for this…..that’s changed.
I can see the similarities of what you said and maybe that’s why I love both! 😂
Stardew valley bg is actual way more stressful then tend lol very strict turns / seasons
We still need to try it because we’ve heard it’s fun, but yea the openness of Tend is pretty great!
I tend to avoid roll n write games
Nice. 😂
Yeah IV Games can eff right off with a more than $100 flip and write type of game (shipped). Not supporting this bs.
👍 That was always allowed!
