Folding Queens here is actuallly rather easy even if Schwartz is on a Combo draw u have just 50 % and if he has bigger which he will mostly have hes almost drawing dead and lets not forgot there is a guy behind you which can easily be on trap
It’s always easy in hindsight when you see what everyone had. In real time at the table this is a hard fold. Even if he’s on a flush draw, calling with queens is the right move. He misses the draw more often than he hits. Unless you’re up against 4-5, a set, or a higher pocket pair you have the edge. Having another guy yet to act helps sure, and Turyanski points that out, but it’s still an impressive fold. Even Daniel says he doesn’t know if he’d have been able to lay it down.
pcosta816 lol no it’s not. That’s easy. Calling the 700k bet with three sixes was. On a board like that facing a bet you’d wanna snap shove but he thought it out with a man behind him and made the gto play.
I thought it was dope how he went over to DN to ask about that. Goes to show you the level of respect he gets from pros and Joe’s that enter the main event. I agree, that’s Poker. Spotting trends and avoiding disasters many times before you land a pot of gold. The limps with small pairs, not having any diamonds, and definite possible sets and straights on the board made this a solid disciplined fold. Not even sure Daniel could do it. But all in with 2 3 6 on the board screams small sets.
@@LivinhItUp its not rocket science tho. What is Schwartz limping pre flop there? Also what is Mckheen just flatting the open from guy with QQ there when he asks Justin how much he has left? He asked him because he wanted to see if it would make sense for Justin to back jam all in, if Mckheen had a strong hand, he 4 bets. You dont flat an Utg+1 open with hands at the top of your range. Then when the board comes out like that what are you even beating when you C bet, get a cold call THEN a check raise back jam? You dont have a diamond. Are 77s 88 99 10s really going to play that way? And you have a guy behind you. Even if Schwartz has a flush/combo draw there its 50 50. Also what is Mckheen flatting on the flop with? Any over pair raises for protection but we know he doesnt have 9s + cuz it would have been a raise pre. Worst hand he calls there with is 78 of hearts with 2 backdoors to implied odds and even then thats doubtful. Makes no sense for him to flat 700K on the flop. Give me a reasonable hand he does that with. AX WITH ACE of diamonds does not and he also shouldnt have offsuit aces based on the preflop action. Its a disciplined fold, hell yes. But not GREAT.
@@cathdan I commented the same thing concerning Jamie Gold's win. True he had Johnny Chan coaching him all the way through but you still need a metric ton of luck in any tournament, especially large field size ones like the WSOP. Your hands have to hold. You have to win flips. You have to get lucky and bad-beat other players. And it all has to be at the right times, especially later in the tournament, i.e. at that final table.
I don't know how meaningful that is at this level of play, even back in 2015. Because each hand will play different and they're all aware of their image and how they played prior hands and will mix it up. It could matter down the road but it's not like Joe secretly got the info and will use it later. Alex knows he had the convo so will bake that into decisions if he thinks it matters. Odds that they get into the same exact spot later is basically 0.

wet flop? how would that be a wet flop in a tournament? how is that board hitting any of the preflop callers? except for sets, which are always the possibility no matter the flop, this particular flop shouldn't be that amazing to any of those players. it just happened that two guys flopped sets with low pocket pairs, it's simple as that.
also, a really dumb shove from Schwartz. not saying he shouldn't shove eventually, but you don't do that on the flop with such a monster hand. seeing how the guy with QQ was the preflop aggressor, the play here is to check and pay the flop, and then check/raise (check/shove) on the turn, and try to get as much money as possible.
