Many people I watched like play this game thinks he is dead, but at the end of the credits with the scene with ethan winter's daughter he appears near the car, that is why the car stops. Watch VGS - Video Game Sophistry, he made a video that shows that ethan is indeed still alive. Many people think the developers were lazy and put the Ethan winters model at the end, because it was too far away for the players to see, but I do not think that is the case, as they are a triple A company and no way would they be lazy they have over 100 developers. They put the model their on purpose, they are a company that would focus on smallest of things so they would definetly do this on purpose no matter the view distance in the scene. Do not forget Jack backers from Re7 was blown, decapitated, burned, but still some how regenerated, sure Ethan turned into a stone but no his entire body so he might still regenerate and come back. He is definetly not dead, we can probably figure more out about him in the next DLC perhaps? We might also play as Rose and see Ethan in resident evil 9, so do not assume he is dead.
@Source Dasher well, at least RE 8 has done one thing even RE 5 garbage and 6 has never done, it's story are better than some crappy thing 5 and 6, again, you can't just stay in an Old RE game right ?
@Source Dasher 6 has most content, but aside of the story merging, nothing is better, and I must say, hard mode in 6 is never hard like Village of Shadow in 8, even you have the Unlimited Stake
What’s really cool is that the screen changes when your at certain points in the game (example: during the Chris Redfield mission the background is on fire and stuff)
And for some reason RE fans hate hate his character. He’s literally the most human(ironic) compared to the rest of the protagonists who were treated like superheroes. I still love the og cast but Ethan’s a unique gem who revitilized the essence of RE.

Esta música representa perfectamente el juego de principio a fin, con sus tonalidades tristes y depresivas como tambien su enfoque misterioso en la aldea y la idea de salvar a Rose durante el camino.
@0:25 I like the strings at this part specifically. They aren't in the same key as the other instruments so it gives this already forlorn and desolate soundtrack a sense of uneasiness and tension, but it's not the main focus audibly.

I like it when video games change their main menus depending on what part of the story you are in. Makes the main menu more than just a screen.
@DRAMATV3DAnd Half-life/Portal 2 as well.
Lots of games do this, for example cyberpunk, rdr2 and plenty more
This even happened in the 2015 videogame, Life is Strange (LiS).
