Seacombe Ferry Renovation 2021

Hello Viewers, well it has been a while since videos last posted but glad still out and about, here on Merseyside. I have met my friends who are still taking their photographs and videos. I really thought I had missed this opportunity of recording the removal off all linkspans connected to the Seacombe Ferry. However, thanks to a couple of friends keeping me informed I was there to watch the final piece removed on Thursday 22/7/2021.
The morning of removal, my boiler had to be serviced but thankfully the engineer was on time and I had my bike ready to head for Seacombe. I got there just in time and used the phone to take the videos.
Then after that I decided to head to the southern part of promenade to see Lara 1 (ex Mersey Mammoth, Mersey Docks and Harbour Company) place the span on the Carmet barge. If you look carefully you will see a man pulling a rope to position its final resting place.
The whole operation was smooth and everyone involved must be congratulated for detail to safety and up for this challenging feat of engineering. From what I understand they have been moved to Garston docks for renovation but I am sure others on RUclips will keep us informed with what's happening.
The hottest day for us here on Merseyside and 30 degrees C didn't stop this planned move and I conclude my video with Lara 1 leaving for its next assignment. Cranes are all around Merseyside but to get this close to the job in hand was a bonus for me.
I cycled home at mid day, wow it was hot and ready for a cup of tea!

Well done everyone and looking forward to walking on the landing stage to catch the ferry from Seacombe as I have done for over 57 years with my bike, not the same one though. However, still the same ferry boats!
